At times, I think that we all ask the question, “why am I here?”  We all have a yearning to know what our purpose is, and where we fit in God’s bigger story, the greatest love story in history!  A story that we are called to share with the world, in the hope that God will change someone’s life forever.

In his new book, “Unfinished”, World Vision president, Rich Stearns reminds us of the mission that Jesus calls every believer to, a challenge to ‘go into all of the World’ and proclaim hope and demonstrate His incredible love.  A job that Rich declares is “Unfinished.”  He reminds us that after having an encounter with Jesus, “you can’t just go back to your old life, that is not an option, an encounter with Jesus changes everything.”  Rich’s encouragement to you is simply this, “Be a finisher!”

This month, I hope that you will join me on this journey to be a “finisher!”  We are setting out on a mission to change the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children. Children who desperately need our help. Everyday 20,000 children, under the age 5, die, and sadly most of them from things that are preventable. If they make it past 5, 67 million will never make it to school and more than a billion are severely deprived of what they need to survive.  I know those numbers can seem overwhelming, but we have the power to change the world, one child at a time!

During this mission, we are teaming up with World Vision to take “Love Around The World”, to fulfill the Lord’s call to go into all the World proclaiming hope and demonstrating His great love!  During this month, we are looking for 1,000 people to help us with the “unfinished” business of caring for these children and sharing the Gospel.

For what you spend on one meal for your family at a drive thru, you can feed, educate and care for a child for an entire month, a child who is in desperate need of help, a child, who without your help, may not make it.  The great thing about sponsoring a child is that you are, in a very real sense, adding another member to your family.  You’ll have the chance to build a relationship with your World Vision child that often times means more to them than you can imagine.

Mother Theresa said, “We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty.”  Join us in taking “Love Around The World” help us change the world one child at a time. Learn how to sponsor.

Take Action

As a parent you dream about your kid’s future, you dream of what they’ll grow up to do, where they’ll go to college, who they’ll marry… but for millions of parents around the world they simply don’t get that chance, instead they dream of their child seeing another sunrise. By the time the day is over, there will sadly be 20,000 children, under the age of 5, who will no longer be here.  Time is of the essence, and right now you can help save one of these kids.

Last year, we added a member to our family through World Vision child sponsorship, little Petronila, from Kenya, who without the help of World Vision may not be here.  She is now 4 1/2 years old and has hope for the first time in her life.  I am grateful that we get to play a part in her being able to dream beyond tomorrow, and excited about what God has for store for her in the years ahead.

I hope that you will join K-LOVE and World Vision in taking “Love Around The World.” For over six decades, World Vision has been caring for the World’s children, offering them the love and hope of the Gospel, caring for them as Jesus shared in Matthew 25,

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.

‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.’

You never lose by loving, but you will always lose by holding back, the Bible makes that very clear. In 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (The Message), Paul writes, “Tell those rich in this world’s wealth to quit being so full of themselves and so obsessed with money, which is here today and gone tomorrow. Tell them to go after God, who piles on all the riches we could ever manage—to do good, to be rich in helping others, to be extravagantly generous. If they do that, they’ll build a treasury that will last, gaining life that is truly life.”

Before you exclude yourself, with ‘oh, I am not rich’, know that if you make minimum wage in the United States, you are richer than 75% of the World’s population. Together we can make a difference, by the end of this month, you can be a part of changing lives around the World, offering them the Hope we have in Christ and demonstrating His great love!  Let’s change the World, One child at a time!
