Go M.A.D. today! It's Make a Difference Monday!

Today I'm painting the kitchen for my mom while she's at a meeting! When she heard that I wanted to help she was so thankful!!

I found your radio station last July when my then 4 year old son was in the hospital for 35 days following open heart surgery. I was driving into the hospital parking lot,exhausted, and wanted to hear something uplifting so I started punching the pre-set buttons on my car radio and He's My Son by Mark Schulz came on. Wow! Our son is doing awesome now and we have many reasons to praise God. I have listened to only K-Love ever since then.
Anyway, the company I work for gives a parking pass for a close-to-the-door parking spot to a top performer every 2 weeks. They gave me this award last Thursday. I wanted to make a difference in 2 co-workers lives. I donated my parking pass to them as they had helped my family out last year when my son was in the hospital. They came to the hospital to sit with my son so my husband & I could get out of the hospital together and take a much needed break and also brought us food since eating hospital food gets old after awhile.
Ever since finding K-Love and actually thinking about making a difference for someone else, rather than being selfish, God has really blessed my heart.

I have been out of work for 5 months and using my car only for job searching, prayer (out of town) and church. I am the children and youth leader at my church (a church plant that has been going for almost 2 months) and the worship leader and his wife handed me money yesterday at church saying they just wanted to bless me. It was a blessing far beyond what they will ever realize.

Today is make a difference Monday, but my story is not something that I am doing, it is something that happened to me.. and it wasn't today, but I still want to share!

On Friday morning, I was riding an elevator, minding my own business. As I got to my floor, I began to leave and a man in the elevator with me stopped me and offered me a pocket-size New Testament Bible. I was completely caught off guard. It was amazing and I'm still feeling the love of God through that man!

I listen to you all at work from 6am-3pm. and when I get home.   The new look is so wonderful.  And to go back a few days; like Friday when I had heard Rebecca St James and all that she is doing and has going on,... well, I could not look on Friday night, had to much going on; and to go and look today just a few mins ago (WOW :0) So wonderful.  Thank you all for your hard work and dedication.   Love Terri

Someone made a huge difference for me and my family today....my middle son was facing some charges due to an accident he had right before his 17th birthday...we got the letter in the mail today letting us know that his court date is in 2 weeks.  I called my husband on my way to work to let him know so we could be figuring out how to come up with the money to pay his fines.  I got to work and there was a card on my desk from a friend with $1000 in it.  She said the Lord had blessed her and she wanted to pass those blessings along to our family.  She made my Monday, my week, My month!  Thank you Jesus for sending her and those blessings our way at a time when we so desperately needed them!

Well today I'm not really going to mention what I did but what my 17 year old sister has. Right now she is on a mission trip to Mexico to spread the gospel of God. She and a small church group went there also to give clothes because people in that area are less fortunate with things like that. I was looking at some pictures of her blog and it made me cry. So mu big sister surely made a difference this Monday! Also, God is still protecting her from the storm happening right now. She is near Cancun so all she's getting is rain. Thank you K Love!  

My co-worker and I were taking our 15 minute walk today and we passed by 2 homeless that were soaking their feet in the fountain we were by, and one stopped by us as he was going to look for some drinking water and told us how they had not eaten since the day before, and just wanted some food.  We had nothing on us except a little cash for the ice cream sandwich we were going to buy since it is so hot outside.  We said we would pray for them and started back to our office, when we both stopped and looked at each other and went back to the hot dog stand a block away and purchased a meal for the both of them with our ice cream money.  We took it back to the cute red head that was sunburned and tired and her smile was unforgettable as we hugged her and gave her the meals for them to enjoy.  

My co-worker and I were on our way to buy an ice cream sandwich since it is so hot out today and on our way we stopped to see a water fountain and as we looked saw 2 homeless that were trying to cool off.  One walked up with a water bottle on search for clean drinking water, and said they had not eaten and were not looking for money but for some food.  We said we would pray for them and started back on our way to the ice cream we were looking forward to, when we both stopped and looked at each other and said we could help, so we took our money to the hot dog stand a block away and purchased a meal for the both of them.  The cute redheaded girl had a smile that was unforgettable and we hugged her and gave her the food that we had bought for them to enjoy. Needless to say we were more satisfied on the way back to the office than what an ice cream sandwich could do for us

This morning when I got to work I ran into a coworker of mine. He told me how his daughter who is now in her twenties and had a heart transplant 10 years ago at a very young age was going to be put back on the donor list. I told him I would say a prayer for her and also for him. I immediately emialed my church prayer list and put in a prayer request for his family. I know it was just a prayer but I hope that my prayer and those of my church family will be enough to make a difference in all of their lives.

We took the kids to the small local "splash pad" and my wife brought 5 extra beach balls. When we saw kids that didn't bring anything to play with, she gave the balls to the parents. They loved it. The balls didn't cost us more than 5 bucks, but they brought huge smiles to the kids' faces .

My parents' van broke down today, and Dad called to ask me to be with them while they awaited the tow truck and to take them to do some errands. I did that in the 90 plus degree weather. I then posted this status on my facebook: "I'm happy to be available when people need me. Lord, use me, and help me to not grumble and complain. ♥"

I just want to share my MAD experience today.  Today has been a pretty rotten day, and by lunch time it was horrible.  As I and my coworker walked into the restaurant for lunch today I wiped the tears away from my eyes to put on my "strong" face. I was feeling very hurt and exhausted by people I really had felt close to.  I cried out inside "How can people be so rude? So selfish?"  

After we placed our orders and began to chat, I felt a kind hand on my back.  As I turned, the lady simply said, "we picked up your bill, thank you so much for all you do."   See my coworker and I are both in the military, and as you would have it, we were both in uniform, (hence the need for a "strong" face).

I don't know the kind people in Charleston, WV who picked up our bill, but I hope they know that their kind act Made A Difference in my Monday.  It was nice to be reminded that not all people are rude and selfish.  I know I can't be strong everyday, therefor I am so thankful God puts people in my path to help me along.

My 7th grade english teacher Mrs.Nash, she always did what ever she could to help her students with every thing, she even stayed after school several times with different students to help them with anything. She always goes the extera mile. She resently quit so she can be a full time mom for the chiled that her and her husband are adopting. Mrs.Nash is an amazing person. And I have a question for your gest, do dogs with white fur really burn sun easyer then dogs with other colers?

hi you guys hows it going?

I know it is make a difference Monday, however, my M.A.D day was yesterday. I went to Kennywood with some friends of mine and bought this weird hat for $6 that lit up. I wore it into most of the night and went to ride the Phantoms Revenge. At the entrance to the line, I noticed a young girl and her mother sitting there. The girl pointed at my hat and giggled and said she liked it. I then took it off and put it on her head. Just seeing the smile on that little girls face was well worth the cost and much much more. It made my heart melt to know I made her so happy.

I was unemployed for 9 month and my wife and i decided that GOD was calling us to do more to feed the needy.  We started out making sack lunches with peanut butter and jelly sandwich and taking them out to 12 people on the street.  We have been doing this for the past year now and you should see the eyes of the people that we stop and ask if they are hungry.    Also we give our mail person a bottle of water when they deliver the mail everyday.  Just something like that makes a different in someones day.

3 weeks ago on a Monday my husband and I took temporary guardianship of my youngest daughters (who I adopted) biological 2 year old sister.  This was a sudden situation and had no time to prepare but we knew she needed us and we did not hesitate in doing it.  She has many behavior issues due to the environment she was in and we are trying to help her. We have many situations where she will hit, scream, bite and throw things. With getting guardinship we now have a $100.00 daycare bill each week because my husband and I both work full time, we have applied for assistance however we were told we make to much money. At times it can be very exhusting physically and emotionally but we know God brought her to us to help her and we are praying everyday God will guide us in the right direction to help her and with the financial situation we are facing right now.  I know we have already made a difference in her life and we will continue to do what we need to do to give her a stable safe family environment.  I would like to ask for prayers for my family as this has been hard at times for all of us.  

Making a diffrence on mondays is great, but making a diffrence everyday is even better! My wife and I are youth pastors in a very small town in Texas where the only thing for the teens here to do is drugs, alcohol, and pre-marits. So what can we do to make a diffrence!? Open a state of the art youth center with video games, pool, basketball court, skate park, live music, computers, tutors, coffee shop, and everything teens love these days! The best part is everything is absolutely free! An awesome free place for these kids to go everyday surely can make a diffrence! To raise the funds for this dream we are hosting an all day christian music festival called Rock The Amp! 8 live bands including The Letter Black, Rapture Ruckus, and Don't Wake Aislin! Great Food, drawing for an autographed guitar (signed by The Letter Black) and water slides also! All that for only $10! All proceeds go torward the youth center! Last Wed. a few families we know get together and we went to downtown.   On this 'Urban Adventure' we had a poster board, two lavender sachets, a marker, colored paper, and a 'Smile Award'.  We asked people what made them smile and recorded it on the poster board.  Also we gave out the 'Smile Award' to the most smiley person and the lavender to people we felt lead to give it to.  Aslo we 'performed' on the sidewalk until a certain amount of people smiled.  We got, honks, thumbs-ups, and lots of smiles.  We all loved this smile-sharing events and would gladly do it again.

Our daughter is 15 months and has a dermoid cyst on her forehead. It's nothing to be worried about but still taking her to Childrens Hospital in Seattle WA 3 hours from our home was intimadation to me. We received the kindest emails from our family and friends and that made a difference.

I was in the grocery store line behind a lady who had two carts FULL of food. She was having the cashier totall up the food, and then she was taking out a bunch that she couldn't afford. One of the items she took out was a whole chicken. I started to notice people behind me starting to huff and puff, and complain about the time she was taking. My heart just broke for her and I felt the Lord speak to me and put it on my heart to pay for the chicken she had to remove. Now, I have very little money and when I go to the store I have a very small budget to feed my family of 5, but I know that if God is leading me to do something then it is His money I'm spending and that He wouldn't let my family suffer for it. So I got her attention and asked her if I may pay for her chicken. She looked a little startled and said no. I said okay and continued to wait for my turn. Well, as she began to walk away, she turned around and suddenly ran to me, giving me the biggest hug. She told me thank you for offering as she held onto me... it was amazing! I never did pay for her food, but I think God just used the opportunity to show someone that there is hope, and love out there. It effected her, but also changed my life. I always look for chances to express the love of Jesus now!

I wanted to share something  fun and sweet that happened as a result of me going "M.A.D." …For a few months now, I have been sending my mom, who is in her 70s and on a fixed income, gift cards (grocery store, Dollar Store, gasoline, pizza, etc) along with scripture and some fun inspirational sayings and stories.  I never sign my name and try my best to hide the fact that it’s me.  But my mom does share with me the fact that she receives these in the mail and the other day relayed a really cool thing that happened when she was using one of the grocery store cards (Kroger).  She was telling the cashier that she has been receiving these gift cards in the mail anonymously every week….the Kroger cashier immediately got excited and exclaimed to my mom “K-Love Make A Difference Monday !!!” How sweet.  It warmed my heart that this lady knew about this and was so excited when she heard my mom’s story.  K-Love you have made a difference in my life in so many ways… thank you !
