    Associate News Producer - Weekend

    A DAY IN THE LIFE…

    As a Weekend Associate News Producer, you’ll be handling the News Desk duties at our headquarters in Rocklin, CA. This involves monitoring news events & being prepared to respond to breaking news, whether on a national or local level. In addition, you will also manage the K-LOVE & Air1 News Pages (on our websites) as well as produce Public Affairs programs.

    You’ll have a lot going on during your 6-8 hour shift, so it’s important that you have prior broadcast news experience (news writing, delivery & production) as well as social media skills.

    Still interested? If so, here’s what we’re looking for…

    • Previous radio news & production experience
    • Ability to creatively edit and produce public affairs audio programming and news segments
    • Strong computer skills; and experience using desktop audio editors including Sound Forge and/or Adobe Audition
    • Professional news delivery or voice quality suitable for coaching (An mp3 newscast or other voice sample is required.)
    • This is a part-time, on-site position. Sacramento-area residents will be given first consideration
    • College courses in Journalism, Broadcasting, Mass Communications preferred but not essential. Will accept equivalent work experience.
    • And most importantly, a desire to serve in ministry. And a calling to contribute to our mission.

    Hours Of Work: This is a Part-Time, weekend position that includes, one 6-8 hour shift on Saturday, and one 6-8 hour shift on Sunday, daytime or overnight. On occasion, filling in during the week may also be required.

    Broadcast Studio Engineer

    As a Broadcast Studio Engineer you will be responsible for making sure that our broadcast and production equipment runs reliably and at top performance. You will serve as the technical resource for our studios (local and remote), performing scalable industry standard designs, installations, modifications, troubleshooting, and technical/system resolution for studio equipment and programming automation in a fast paced production environment. You will be expected to respond quickly and professionally and will often be on call and managing multiple projects at once.

    A few of your day-to-day responsibilities will include...

    • Perform daily maintenance and configuration of in house and remote studio(s) On Air systems and production / Dub room workstations. Ensure reliable playout, schedule delivery, audio delivery, and play log reporting.
    • Perform maintenance of broadcast and production studio automation computers hardware and software.
    • Work with K-LOVE and Air 1 Traffic and Engineering departments to ensure proper configuration of software relating to affiliate content distribution.
    • Perform software and hardware maintenance on all studio automation server delivery systems to ensure delivery of schedules and audio to remote voice tracker systems.

    To do this job, you'll need the following experience...

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with broadcast studio technology as a design engineer and/or broadcast studio integrator/contractor.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of media production, Audio mixers, analog and digital audio distribution and theory, audio/video asset delivery
    • Familiarity with computer networking both Windows and Apple
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with studio design, ability to solder, read line drawings and create wire lists, fabricate broadcast and production studios from wiring line drawings and rack set up documentation
    • Experience installing, maintaining and repairing broadcast and/or recording studio equipment.
    • Specific software experience with Broadcast automation, FTP, HTTP, Mac OS X, MS Visio or CAD, digital audio workstations and plug ins, i.e.: AVID Pro Tools, Sony Soundforge, Adobe audition, Cubase, Apple Logic, Nuendo, Waves, Native instruments
    • Solid understanding and experience with computer hardware repair, KVM systems, Audio cards, USB and Firewire audio devices, audio patchbays and routers
    • Experience working in a fast paced, multi-project environment with the ability to manage shifting priorities

    Lead Promotions Manager - Denver, CO

    While our DJs may be the voice of the ministry, our Promotions Managers are the face of the ministry. THEY are the people that you see at the K-LOVE & Air1 booth when you go large community events, concerts or festivals.

    First and foremost we are looking for someone who has the Passion for our mission "Create compelling media that inspires and encourages our listeners to have a meaningful relationship with Christ" in other words, it's not about us, it's all about our listeners and Him. Our culture is extremely unique, we are not like any other radio station you have ever listened to or worked for. Beyond that here are a few things you will be doing:

    Our Lead Promotions Managers (LPMs) are the senior/lead members of a Promotions team.  They serve as a coach & mentor to Promotions Managers in the area of promotional strategies, planning, techniques and best practices.   The LPM will lead the team to create awareness of the ministry within their community; you get to build relationships with community leaders, engage our listeners, create social media campaigns, expose the radio station to people who have never heard K-LOVE and Air1. You will collaborate with our creative department, philanthropy, business services and underwriters; AND deepen listener’s experience through service opportunities, ministry outreach, events and concerts within 3 hours of the local office.  Success will be measured by increased cume, web visits, donations, social media participation, listener attendance at events and involvement in ministry outreach.  We have a well established market and it is time to go BIG. Larger events, more events, partner with other larger organizations such as sports team to spread the word. This position is based out of the Denver, CO area.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience planning, coordinating & executing promotional events within the radio, media or music industry.
    • Prior experience working in a supervisory role/coaching/leading.
    • Strong knowledge of radio promotional and marketing techniques.
    • Strong understanding of how to utilize social media in a promotional capacity.
    • Good understanding of the local market & how to best approach promotions within this market.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
    • Strong communication, public speaking and presentation skills. Personality and ability to create contagious enthusiasm.
    • Passionate, Creative, Energetic, pro-active, "gets our culture"
    • Self motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance/ministry goals
    • BS/BA degree in marketing, mass communication, public relations, or equivalent.
    • Candidates currently residing in this area are preferred.

    Programmer II (Ruby on Rails)

    Have you ever thought that it be cool to work with satellite technology? Well there is a group of folks on our engineering team that are breaking new ground in radio-industry software. This team designs & creates interfaces that allow us to access and control satellite system functions. Pretty cool huh?

    They are currently looking for an Engineering Applications Programmer II to join their team. This involves designing, developing, testing, implementing, and monitoring software interfaces between satellite equipment and our internal systems.   This is a full time, on-site position, based out of our headquarters in Rocklin, CA.

    Here's what we are looking for...

    • Software programming experience in fast-based, results-oriented environment required
    • Programming experience with Ruby on Rails required
    • 2+ years of Linux command-line experience required
    • 5+ years of experience developing software and user interfaces
    • Programming experience with web technologies (e.g. HTML, SQL, JavaScript) preferred
    • Experience with NoSQL/Distributed Systems desired
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing failures in software design or implementation required
    • Experience analyzing technical problems in software systems, understanding software system needs and developing software solutions preferred
    • Experience in networking, server hardware and maintenance desired
    • And most importantly, a passion for the ministry of K-LOVE & Air1.

    Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree or equivalent college or technical studies in computer programming, information technology or related field.

    Warehouse Operations Associate

    Our Warehouse team plays a vital role in keeping K-LOVE and Air1 on air & running smoothly. They are responsible for all shipping to & from station sites. They are the ones who ship the broadcast equipment out to our new locations, so that people can hear K-LOVE & Air1 for the first time!

    Day in & day out, you will see these folks bustling about the campus saying ‘hi’ to people as they deliver their packages. They work hard to keep the ministry going, and always do it with a smile on their face.

    To be a part of this team, you’ll need the following experience…

    • At least 2 years of recent, forklift operation experience (certification a plus!)
    • Prior inventory control experience: including stocking, pulling orders, cycle counts, physical inventory, etc.
    • Prior shipping/receiving experience.
    • Good written & verbal communication skills.
    • Good computer skills, using MS Office in a Windows environment.

    Additional Employment Requirements…

    • Valid driver’s license & acceptable motor vehicle report
    • Must pass pre-employment reference checking
    • Proof of legal authorization to work in the US.
