Why aren’t you on satellite radio (XM or Sirius)?

We began negotiating for air time on both XM Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio before they launched their first satellites. Unfortunately, satellite radio does not appear to be a viable option for K-LOVE at this time.

How can I find my local station?

To find a K-LOVE station in your area, just visit our online station list.

How did K-LOVE get the name "K-LOVE"?

Each radio station is required by the Federal Communications Commission to have a 4-letter call sign, such as KLVP or KRDG, etc. Radio stations west of the Mississippi River start with the letter "K" and those east of the river start with "W". K-LOVE is a network of contemporary Christian stations and each affiliate in our network has their own official call sign. However, we felt the network as a whole needed one identification. K-LOVE was chosen because the "K" indicates we are a radio network that originated west of the Mississippi River. The "LOVE" portion of our name indicates we are broadcasting a message of God's love and forgiveness for all.

I've heard some businesses mentioned on air. What's up with that?

It sounds like you've heard an announcement developed by our Underwriting team.  Yes, there is a separate way to let our tens of thousands of radio listeners know about your business.  It's the equivalent of business underwriting on public radio and television.  It calls for investment levels similar to local radio advertising.  The benefit of this is called the "halo effect" because the audience hears your message in the K-LOVE Positive and Encouraging environment.  Without actually saying it, it says you believe in them.  There is also an opportunity for online exposure through ads on klove.com and other online outlets.  You can contact this team by calling 1-800-525-5683.

Can I just mail my gift or do I have to wait for the envelope?

You sure can! Our mailing address for gifts is:

    K-LOVE Radio
    P.O. Box 2098
    Omaha, NE 68103-2098

Does K-LOVE have bumper or window stickers?

K-LOVE has bumper stickers available for our radio and online listeners. Order online, or if you need a large quantity, contact your regional manager. Window clings and decals aren't available at this time, but our stickers are usually easily removed.

Can I visit or tour K-LOVE?

We love to meet our listeners! We give tours at our headquarters located in Rocklin, CA. Please call our receptionists at (800) 525-LOVE to schedule a visit. We are not able to provide tours in our regional offices or remote studios, however.

How do I participate in K-LOVE contests?

K-LOVE hosts on-air and online contests all year long! Call (800) 900-1300 when prompted for on-air contests. It is often tough to get through with so many excited listeners dialing, but there is always a winner so please don’t give up! Find a list of all national and regional contests on our contest page. Contest rules are subject to change with each promotion, but for general guidelines, check our contest rules. Most contests are open to all U.S. residents, but prizes involving travel are restricted to those over age 18.

How does K-LOVE get such great prizes to give away?

Great question - and we're glad you asked! All the prizes you hear about on air are donated to us by amazing promotional partners! Donor dollars are not used to fund our contests. We're excited that we are able to be able to give away awesome prizes and ministry opportunities. Thanks for checking this out!

I forgot my password, how do I get a new one?

When you go to "Sign In," enter your email address and choose the "Oops I forgot my K-LOVE password!" option. We'll email you a new password right away! Once you login with your new password, you can then change it to one that suits your needs.

Why do I need an account to donate online?

When you login through your account, we immediately pull up all of your information, making it easier and faster for you to support K-LOVE online! Additionally, you can manage your email subscriptions, tax receipts, and much more under “My Account.”

How can I get my business listed in the online directory?

First of all, thanks for supporting K-LOVE!  Our online directory is how we share this info.  There are two types of listings: Standard and Featured.

    Featured Listing:

Businesses that pay for on-air spots or events developed by our Underwriting team. You can contact this team to learn more about marketing plans and partnerships. This team also handles the advertisements that are on the page, so if you are interested in getting your business some ad space, contact the Underwriting Team by calling 1-800-525-5683.

    Standard Listing:

A donor on behalf of a business, donating to K-LOVE. These donations are made online through the donation form and donor must choose the option to have their business displayed on the Business Page. A minimum $100.00 donation is required per month to have your business displayed. A one-time donation of $1200.00 allows your business to display the entire year to the Business Page. To get started on making a donation on behalf of your business, click here. If you have more questions, feel free to contact us

How will K-LOVE listeners know we are supporters?

Our online directory is just a click away and everyone listed is a supporter.  You can also help spread the word by telling your customers about K-LOVE.  If you have an opportunity to play the station in your workplace, that's great too!

I don't have a business so I can't sign up for this, but I'd sure love to find businesses in my area that I can support. How do I do that?

Thanks for reaching out to your local area, that's awesome!  Just click directory and search by zip code or category to get a list of K-LOVE business supporters in your area.  Be sure to mention K-LOVE!  It's a great way to connect!

Does my listening mean that K-LOVE endorses my business?

We encourage listeners to support businesses that support K-LOVE.  However, listings are not official endorsements.

Where can I find my K-LOVE's station's public file?

The FCC has granted a main studio waiver so that the public file for each of the K-LOVE stations can be found at:

    2288 Airport Blvd.
    Santa Rosa, CA 95403

What happened to the free song downloads on K-LOVE?

Unfortunately, we are not able to feature free song downloads at this time. To keep up to date with other music-related promotions, text MUSIC to 21947. Standard text messaging rates apply.

I just submitted my event, why is it not showing up on the Concerts and Events page?

Please allow a few days for our local office to read, review, edit and post your event.  Due to the high volume of events that get submitted for consideration, K-LOVE is not able to respond to or acknowledge every on-air or website request.  K-LOVE makes all final decisions regarding the placement of events on our website and on-air, and reserves the right to refuse any event deemed inappropriate or lacking general interest to our listeners. K-LOVE also reserves the right to edit submitted information for content or space purposes. Submissions are for events only (concerts, conferences, special church events and activities, etc.) and must be submitted four weeks in advance.

I would like my event to go on the community calendar as an On-Air announcement. What do I need to do?

In order for an event to be announced on the air, the following requirements must be met:

    • The event sponsor is a nonprofit,
    • The event is free to the public,
    • Event information has been submitted four to six weeks in advance, and
    • the event does not conflict with K-LOVE's ministry or mission.

Why does this look different in Internet Explorer 8?

This player has been optimized to use Internet Explorer 9 and higher.  While it may not be to most optimal experience, we have created it in a way that will at the very least provide you with the ability to listen to K-LOVE.  We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer or the following browsers: Google Chrome, or Firefox.

"How do I know God's will?" - Sylvia from California

Here are five ways that God directs our steps:

    1. The Bible - "You will keep on guiding me with your counsel" (Psalms 73:24a). Read and study it. Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you through truths presented in Scripture.
    2. Prayer - "If you need wisdom - if you want to know what God wants you to do - ask Him, and He will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking" (James 1:5). Spend time talking to God. Tell Him your thoughts, desires and dreams. Ask God for wisdom and guidance in dealing with the problems of life. Listen to the still, small voice as He speaks.
    3. Seek Wise Counsel of Mature Christians - "Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers ... as they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, 'Separate me, Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them'" (Acts 13:1-2). The Holy Spirit used Saul and Barnabas as leaders for the church and sources of knowledge and advice. Speak with mature, godly people asking for their counsel in your situation and listen carefully to their stories. This counsel may also come from sermons, books, videos and/or radio programs by godly people.
    4. Circumstances - "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord" (Psalms 37:23). What are your talents, training, experiences and desires? What responsibilities do you have and what/who will be impacted by your decisions? Look at the circumstances surrounding your situation. All of these work together in making your decision.
    5. Peace - "Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him" (Psalms 37:7). When you are following God's plan, you will have peace in your heart. Wait for that peace. Do not move in any direction until you have it.

Use all five of these sources of direction as you seek for God's will for your sit

I can’t find the tax form “vitals” (address, tax id, business name and that kind of stuff), can you give me a quick summary?

Awe, we understand! Forms are – well, forms. Here’s a quick recap. You’ve donated to K-LOVE, but for tax purposes you should report this as “EMF Broadcasting” (for inquiring minds, EMF stands for “Educational Media Foundation”). This is our 501(c)3 not-for-profit registered name. The registered address is 5700 West Oaks Blvd, Rocklin, CA 95765. And finally, the tax ID#, is 94-2816342.

I want to help but can’t give financially. Are there other ways I can partner with K-LOVE?

We’re so glad you asked! You can definitely partner with us by becoming a prayer supporter. Create an account, and once you’re registered, you’ll receive “Prayer Partner Updates” by email. You can also find a list of K-LOVE's prayer needs online. Thank you for your prayers!

Does K-LOVE have a program schedule?

K-LOVE plays contemporary Christian music mixed with short inspirational messages and ministry spots rotated on a regular basis and shared each hour. A program schedule is not available at this time.

I'd like more information about the K-LOVE cruise. Can you help?

Visit our cruise site. Premiere Christian Cruises is our booking agency and will be happy to assist you with travel reservations and price quotes.

What is the Encouraging Word and how do I sign up?

The Encouraging Word is a daily Bible verse that K-LOVE sends via email to those who sign up for it. If you would like to receive it, please sign up. If you don’t receive a confirmation within 24 hours, please contact us.

What does it take to get a station in my area? How much does it cost?

Even though we would love to have a signal in every city in America, several factors determine whether we are able to put a signal in a particular area. The main factor is the availability of frequencies. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates all broadcast frequencies in the United States. Currently, most markets do not have any frequencies available. One option we have is to buy an existing high-powered station, but most of these stations sell for millions of dollars, a price generally out of K-LOVE's reach.

Building low-powered stations (called translators, because they "translate" from one frequency to another) is also an option. Though translators do not cover as large an area as a full-power station, they still provide usable service. Unfortunately, the FCC has not accepted new translator applications for a number of years. In March 2003, the FCC opened a opportunity for new translator applications. We filed close to 900 applications and were granted over 250. Those translators have been built, but the FCC is not currently accepting applications for new ones.

Because full-power stations take priority over translators, if an existing translator causes interference with another full-power station (even a new station), the translator must be removed.

Even with permission from the FCC, a station or translator can still take years to build. FCC and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, availability of land and tower space, local zoning laws, EPA restrictions and even weather can affect the timetable of building a signal or make it impossible to build.

If I already give a monthly gift to K-LOVE, do I need to renew my support during Pledge Drive?

First, we’ve just gotta say it, “THANK YOU!” We really appreciate your support! Unless you’ve given us an expiration date, your pledge is ongoing so there’s no need to renew. Of course if you want to make a change, we can always help, just call us at 1-800-525-LOVE (5683) or email us. Thanks so much for checking!

Is my gift to K-LOVE tax deductible?

Absolutely! K-LOVE is registered under the Educational Media Foundation (EMF), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit ministry.

For filing specifics, see the appropriate questions above.

I'm new - just wondering, how do I donate?

You can donate online and "walk" through the online form. If you'd like to call and make a gift personally, we'd love to hear from you at 1-800-525-LOVE (5683).

Is there a minimum donation amount?

There are no minimums and there are no maximums. We are thankful for every gift given to support K-LOVE.

Can I make my donation using an automatic deduction from my credit card or bank account?

You sure can! We’d love you to check out our EZ Gift giving plan for monthly giving by using your checking, savings, or debit/credit card. It’s easy to get started when you pledge online. If you have any questions, please just give us a call at 1-800-525-LOVE (5683).

What happens after I make my financial gift?

You can expect a thank you letter and gift acknowledgement from K-LOVE to arrive very soon. This will also include your member number.

If you’ve asked for statements, you’ll continue to receive monthly letters and giving envelopes.

Will my gift be counted toward the funding of my local K-LOVE station and if my area is already fully funded, where will my donation be credited?

We do keep track of incoming gifts by zip-code so we can credit your support to your local community. When an area reaches 100% funding, many donors give to help other areas. While we track by local area, we are always grateful for 100% funding overall.

Is K-LOVE able to accept Combined Federal Campaign donations?

K-LOVE has teamed up with the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), a giving option for military and federal employees. K-LOVE’s giving code is: 10111. We really appreciate your consideration in making K-LOVE your charity of choice!

If K-LOVE raised 100% of its funding in the last Fund Drive, why are so many new donations needed now?

If an area was at 100% last fund drive, it will often lose 30 to 40% of its financial support due to donors relocating to another area, loss of employment, catastrophic financial events and unfulfilled donations.

The goal you hear on the air is the difference or “replacement” percentage to get back to 100% funding.

What credit cards does K-LOVE accept for the EZ Gift Plan?

Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We also accept debit cards provided they have the Visa or MasterCard logo imprinted on them.

Does it save K-LOVE money when I support the ministry using the EZ Gift Plan instead of mailing a check each month? Are there any fees involved?

Automatic transfers cut down on K-LOVE's printing, postage and administrative fees. Your gift actually goes further with the EZ Gift Plan. We do not pass on any transaction fees to our supporters.

Will K-LOVE increase my pledge automatically if operating costs increase?

No. K-LOVE will not make any changes to your EZ Gift Plan without authorization from you. Simply call, write or send an e-mail any time you would like to make a change to your account.

How can I advertise my event (e.g., Vacation Bible Schools, Concerts, Conferences) on K-LOVE?

    Well, we've got options!

    1. LOCAL CONCERTS AND EVENTS

You can find a listing of all concerts and events online. To submit an event, read our guidelines and fill out a submission form online.

    2. MULTI-MARKET EVENTS (NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS)

K-LOVE’s CONCERTS page is a great place to start. We also have ARTISTS pages where you can find more information and links to artists pages.

I would like to read more about the news stories I hear on K-LOVE. How do I do this?

Many news stories we report on the air are posted online on our news page, which includes a search feature. If you don't find a story you heard, contact us and we'll try to track it down for you. When you do use our news links, please be advised these sites are external links and not supported by K-LOVE.

What political party is K-LOVE associated with?

K-LOVE is an evangelistic ministry and is not associated with any political party. As a station, we do not provide endorsements for issues or candidates. Please keep in mind that K-LOVE is a worldwide ministry and we feel that to become involved in politics would distract from our calling. There are wonderful Christian ministries that already provide these resources for Christians. Our goal is to present the news without personal opinions or commentaries, giving equal time to both sides of any issue. Due to time limitations, these are often rotated and may not be heard in the same update.

What sources does K-LOVE use for their news updates?

Our news material comes from a number of sources, including phone leads and press releases. Our news anchors do their own investigative reporting and our news department checks about 15 secular and religious news websites daily for stories we feel would be of interest to our listeners. Three of the best sites for news with a Christian focus are http://www.charismanews.com/, http://www.religiontoday.com/ and http://www.christianitytoday.com/.

We also rely on you for news tips! Thank you for your assistance!

I have found Closer Look segments helpful, but I would like a transcript. Do you offer these?

Closer Look segments are produced by K-LOVE and may be downloaded online. At this time transcripts are not available.

I often want to follow up on a short ministry spot I hear on K-LOVE or visit the website for the ministry that hosted it. Do you provide links?

K-LOVE provides links to those ministries who have spots on the air. K-LOVE does not have transcripts here at the station but you may be able to request or read these on the individual sites of our ministry partners.

How do I submit prayer requests to K-LOVE?

If you'd like to submit a prayer request, one of our full-time pastors will receive it. Our staff meets daily to pray for our listeners' needs.

Does K-LOVE offer counseling and advice?

Our pastoral staff is available to talk and pray with our listeners. They can be reached at (800) 525-LOVE. We don't offer ongoing counseling, but we can refer you to a resource in your area.

What church is K-LOVE associated with and what do you believe?

K-LOVE is not associated with a church. We are a Christian ministry that is supported by listeners representing many church backgrounds. We do not require donors to provide this information so statistics aren't available. To find out more about what we believe, review our Statement of Faith. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Does K-LOVE offer church referrals and study resources?

We'd love to help! Please call our pastors at (800) 525-LOVE. Once our pastor has a chance to become better acquainted with you and the type of church you are looking for, they will provide suggestions.

How do I find a song I heard on K-LOVE?

Finding a song you heard on K-LOVE is easy! Search for the song on our music page by typing in some of the lyrics. Or you can check our recent songs section where the last 20 songs we played are listed. You can also email or call us at (800) 525-LOVE. We are happy to help you track down the song. Let us know the time you heard the song, which time zone you are in and any lyrics or other description of the song you can remember.

What type of music does K-LOVE play?

K-LOVE's format is "Contemporary Christian Music." We generally focus on music that is culturally relevant and appeals to the current generation of people searching for Jesus. Typically, this music is similar to the style of music played in the secular market but whose lyrics focus on worshipping Jesus and bringing people to Christ.

Many listeners request special programming hours. However, logistically in a network of our size, it isn't possible to find a time that works well for everyone.

How can I learn more about the artists I hear on K-LOVE?

Our artist pages provide links directly to artists’ websites.

How does a new artist get started at K-LOVE?

We're excited that so many of our listeners are involved in making great Christian music. If your music fits our guidelines, feel free to submit a song by emailing us at submissions@klove.com. If K-LOVE doesn't seem like the right fit, we recommend contacting the Gospel Music Association (GMA).  They have great advice for new artists and also host an annual festival "Music in the Rockies"  - a talent search and contest.  A great starting point!

How can I find out more about K-LOVE?

Click on one of the links on the left for more information about K-LOVE. K-LOVE is also proud to highlight our ministry partners on our website. These organizations share K-LOVE’s goal of spreading the gospel message but in their own unique way.
