I saw this on ESPN over the weekend and it really touched my heart ... I thought it might touch yours, as well ...

Christmas Cookies and love

This past weekend, I had the priviledge of being at a church in Indianapolis that was passing out food for Christmas.  16,000 pounds of food!  Many K-LOVE listeners came to volunteer and handed out food.  And many K-LOVE listeners came to receive some food for their families.

After a trip through the plentiful food line, with full bags and happy hearts, people were invited to a room with hot chocolate, coffee, and Christmas cookies.  The youth group was passing out the goodies, spending the last Saturday before Christmas serving others.

And the cookies were exceptionally yummy:)  I made a point to visit the cookie room several times on Saturday:)  I chatted with several families as they sat at tables and enjoyed Christmas cookies.  We heard many stories of God providing, and many hopes for this Christmas and the future.

You know, there's just something about Christmas cookies.  They warm the heart.  I tried the no-bake cookies (that I hadn't tasted for years--so good!), sugar cookies with fun frostings, snickerdoodles and, well, many others:)

IF by chance today you are pulling out your Chrismtas cookie recipes to make the heart-warming favorite of your family, share the recipe here with us!  Maybe we'll make your cookies this year!

And thank you River of Life Church in Indianapolis for reaching out to others in such a big way, with love, presents, food, and cookies:)

Merry Christmas,

PS:  My family's favorite Christmas cookie...

Cream together: 1 C flour, 1 C softened butter, and 1/4 C brown sugar.  Pat into a 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.  While that crust is baking, stir together:  2 eggs, 2 tsp flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 C chopped nuts, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 1/2 C brown sugar, and 3/4 C coconut.  Spread over the cooled crust and bake for 25 minutes.  Cut into bars and dust with powdered sugar.  Enjoy!  My Momma made these cookies every year when I was a kid:)

Your Christmas Miracle

Our producer KC Wright has it on his heart that we take one morning on K-LOVE before Christmas and focus on your Christmas miracle.

So tell me:  What does that mean to you?  What is your Christmas miracle?

Is it something God did for you years ago at Christmas time, healing your body or heart, saving a loved one, giving you a child, restoring your marriage?

Or is your Christmas miracle something still yet to happen, something you are praying about and believing God for?

Tell us about your Christmas miracle by clicking on "comment" above.  And, if it wouldn't make you feel too uncomfortable, share what you're believing God for, so that we can stand in prayer with you, too.

Jesus is the Christmas miracle.  He is still doing miracles today.

Merry Christmas,
