Michael Jr.

Praying before one of his shows, comedian Michael Jr. said God revealed to him a new way to look at his comedy - don't look to get laughs, but rather look to give people an opportunity to laugh

It was a pivotal moment in his life, where it began a journey of Michael taking his comedy to an areas where there is often very little laughter - prisons, homeless shelters, homes for abused children ... all documented in a DVD called "Comedy: The Road Less Traveled"

Advice - Love your enemies

From Matthew West's book GIVE THIS CHRISTMAS AWAY...

It's easy to give gifts at Christmas to the ones you love, isn't it?  I would imagine that the people who are on your Christmas shopping list are people whom you are quite fond of.  How about enemies?  Got any of those on your list this Christmas?  Most people aren't racing to the stores to buy a gift for that special arch nemesis in their lives.  Does someone come to mind who would be completely shocked to receive a gift or a card from you this Christmas?

Well, what if you did it?

What if you shocked that enemy of yours by taking the first step?  Even if it seems like it's too big a step to actually give gifts to our enemies, we are still called to pray for them.  That is something we can all stand to be reminded of.  I know that's not my first instinct when I think of someone who has hurt me.  Love your enemies.  We learned the lesson in Sunday school.  Consider this a little refresher course.

You have heard the law, that says, "Love your neighbor" and hate your enemy.  But I say, love your enemies!  Pray for those who persecute you!  In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.  Matthew 4:43-45
