Christmas Flash Mob

Christmas Flash Mob!

Cute story from K-LOVE listener Brandi

I love listening to you guys and wanted to share this story with you. Last Friday my daughter's 1st grade class had a Christmas party during which they exchanged gifts. My daughter received 2 Barbie dolls. While she was waiting for the bus after school she noticed her best friend, who's in another class, wasn't carrying a gift. The friend started crying and said her class didn't have a party. My daughter said she didn't want her friend to feel bad so she gave both Barbie dolls to her friend. When I asked her what made her think of doing that she told me "Duh mommy! It's what Jesus would've done!" I pray every day that the Lord will use me as a light for Him and just when I least expect it, I see His light shining through my daughter.

3 Angels in Arizona by Craig West

Lorena, Jennifer and Lavay - the names of a few nurses, or should I say angels, in Tucson, Arizona.  Over the weekend my father was rushed to the hospital with chest pains.  A couple of years ago he had open heart surgery, so you can imagine the instant fear that sometimes envelops when anything as much as an ‘ouch’ comes from good ‘ol Pops.

I want to say thanks to Lorena, Jennifer and Lavay, and to all the nurses who work long, thankless hours, and do their best to keep us and our loved ones calm, simply providing a presence that we usually don’t realize is there until much later.  I believe it’s the presence of the Holy Spirit, the ultimate Comforter.

This latest situation got me thinking: isn’t it wonderful how there are men and women, all over, whose job is to be with our loved ones in their time of need?  All year round they’ll be there waiting.  Strangers who offer comfort, support and dignity in difficult times.  Strangers like Lorena, Jennifer and Lavay who aren’t strangers any more.

Good news!  My father is fine and back home.

And now today, I find out that my brother is in the hospital in Frankfurt, Germany, horribly sick and undergoing tests.  Am I fearful?  I’d lie if I said I wasn’t a little.  Am I thankful?  Yes.  Not for his affliction, but for the belief that once again God has positioned certain men and women around my younger brother.  And, he will be comforted by a few nurses - or should I say angels?

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Brands out by 2015?

Prophet recently conducted a spot survey of some 5,000 U.S. consumers to see which brands they’d put on the deathwatch for anytime between now and 2015.
Anyone who even skims the news headlines will find their rankings no big surprise: Eastman Kodak topped the list with 27 percent of the group, with Netflix and the U.S. Post Office coming in with 19 percent and 18 percent of the vote. RIM (Blackberry) came as fourth most likely to fail (14 percent), and Sears came in fifth (11 percent).
Forbes.com slideshow: See the 5 brands most likely to be gone by 2015.

But what was interesting about this exercise was less the polled group’s choices and more their observations about these brands’ failings:
About Netflix: “They have shown they don’t know their own clients. They are not even clear with what they want as a company. It is a mess.”
U.S. Post Office: “Inefficient and obsolete.”

What brands do you miss?  Cereal? Candy? Cars? Restaurants?
