My One Word

Back in January we were introduced to the concept of My One Word.  Instead of making a new year resolution, narrow your focus on what you want to be this year into just "one word". Lisa chose the word "Dream", while I (Eric) chose "Present".  Today we caught up with the man who came up with the idea - Pastor Mike Ashcraft of Port City Community Church in Wilmington, NC - and he shared that it's never too late in the year to come up with your word.

If you haven't chosen your word, click here for some ideas.  If you already have your word for the year - what is it and has it helped you focus this year?

Memory Expert Ron White

Ron White of Fort Worth, Texas has a lot of 'mental muscle'. The Navy Vet recently won for the second year in a row the annual USA memory Championship. Some of events included memorizing the names of 99 people and their pictures, a 50-line poem in free verse and over 100 single numbers in the right order.

Ron now prepares for the World Championships in China in November and should do pretty well - right now, he can memorize the order of a deck of cards in just over a minute.

For more on Ron and his techniques, check out his website.
