God is Faithful

God Will Never Give You More Than You Can Handle
Paul tells us: "God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Over time that promise has become abbreviated to "God will never give you more than you can handle." Like many others, I've derived comfort from these words, though I know God does not "give" me loss, pain and grief.
Like most bumper-sticker theology, this promise appeals to my concerns about myself and my well-being. If I take Paul's words and God's faithfulness seriously, I must also look beyond my self-centeredness to the pain and severe testing others endure. What of the hungry, the abused, the victims of racism? What of the people of the world who have known no other life than a daily existence of war and terror? Could it be that God could use me to provide a "way out" for the hopeless? Could I help others handle life?

A better bumper sticker might be: "God is faithful."

Abolition International

Abolition International

1.2 million children have been sold into human trafficking; 200,000 of which are in the United States. Can you imagine a 12 year old being sold into prostitution? Sadly,  this is the average age for girls trafficked into prostitution in the United States.
Abolition International is dedicated to the elimination of human trafficking both domestically and abroad. Founded in 2005 by K-LOVE artist Natalie Grant, the organization is committed to ending the suffering of women and children sold into sexual slavery through accreditation, advocacy, education and restoration efforts.
Natalie was struck with the realization of human trafficking on a trip to the red-light district in Mumbai, India and subsequently took action. “God completely changed my life when I took a trip to India. I saw little, tiny children for sale on the street and I began to learn about the modern day horrors of slavery; human trafficking,” Natalie explains. “I knew I’d be wrecked for life after that trip, but I also knew that I could not stand by and do nothing, I had to do something.”
Natalie originally founded the organization, first known as The Home Foundation, to be a place where victims of trafficking could be cared for and restored. Since its origin, the organization has grown to become Abolition International; a leader in education and advocacy in front of Congress, while still maintaining its focus on restoration and accrediting aftercare facilities.

Your Enthusiasm Is No Mistake

That thing that you do that you are enthusiastic about, that activity that gives you life…dancing, playing with your kids, working, creating, building; what ever you are enthusiastic about, could it be that it’s an inspiration or gift from God?

Enthusiasm---ultimately comes from a Greek word that means "having the god within," formed from en, "in, within," and theos, "god." Over time the meaning of enthusiasm became extended to "rapturous inspiration like that caused by a god" to "an overly confident belief that one is inspired by God”.

Colossians 3:23  “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”  Do it with such enthusiasm that when people see it they will be seeing God doing it through you!
