It seems that there is no task too daunting for Coach Beverly Kearney.
After overcoming homelessness and a horrific accident, the University of Texas head women's track and field coach has devoted herself to her organization, Pursuit of Dreams Foundation, in order to motivate and empower disadvantaged youth, CNN reports.
"If I could utilize the techniques that I used to produce results in sport, why can't I utilize those techniques to produce results in life," Coach Kearney explains. "Pursuit of Dreams is about connecting people with the inner magic that lies within them…that lets them know, 'Yes you can.' No, better yet, 'Yes we can.'"

Though Ladd Anderson has had to endure exhausting rounds of chemotherapy and doctor’s appointments, the 10-year-old wasn’t interesting in relaxing when it came time for his “Make-A-Wish.” The Michigan boy was set on serving his country.

The RAF search-and-rescue captain successfully piloted two girls, aged 13 and 16, to safety last night when they were left stranded off the Welsh coast.

Studies: Recession and Hand Sanitizer

Moms are bearing the brunt of recession, study shows. TODAY

Though the media has focused on the plight of unemployed dads, it’s moms who are suffering the most in the current recession, a new study shows.
The study, which looked at the outcomes for laid-off workers across the United States, found that married women with kids spent more time in-between jobs than married dads.
Making matters worse for the moms was the big pay cut they took once they finally found a job: On average moms lost $175 per week more than dads, according to the study, which was presented at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.

Study: Chemical used in hand sanitizer hinders muscles. Business Journal

A widely used antibacterial chemical widely used in hand soaps, sanitizers and other personal-care products may impair muscle function, according to a new study by UC Davis researchers.
Triclosan hinders muscle contractions at the cellular level, slows swimming in fish and reduces muscular strength in mice, researchers at University of California Davis and the University of Colorado conclude in a study that appears online in the proceedings of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.

When Boston-resident Jack Cushman decided to propose to Teresa Elsey, his girlfriend of nearly three years, he was certain that she'd say yes. So all that was left to figure out was how he'd make the moment memorable.
"Since I wasn't too nervous about the question itself, I decided to come up with a ridiculously complicated plan to worry about instead," Cushman wrote in an essay for The Huffington Post.
"My first thought was just to get a bunch of strangers to give Teresa flowers as she was coming home from work, people in all kinds of improbable places," he told Yahoo! Shine in an interview. "I wanted to create a world where good things happen for no reason, a world full of bounty. I just loved the idea of just being able to give that to her."
