What's the best advice you ever got?

It's graduation season. Any words of wisdom for recent graduates? What was the best bit of advice you ever got when you were young?

Here is Scott's encouraging letter to a listener's teenage son: Some of my fondest memories were growing up in my teenage years, and grow up you will. Now is one of those seasons in your life where the choices you make will be choices that mold and shape who you are and what you do for years to come. I pray that God's Holy Spirit will lead you to make the right decisions in every area of your life. Remember that God promises that He will never leave you or forsake you! Remember that Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. One of my favorite verses ever is Jeremiah 29:11-14...in The Message version of the Bible it says this: "I know what I am doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen. When you come looking for me, you'll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I'll make sure you won't be disappointed, God's decree. I'll turn things around for you. I'll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you - God's Decree - bring you home to the place from which I sent you off into exile. You can count it."
