You might have heard in the news about the Football player, Junior Seau, taking his own life…

A lot of people in shock about this today.  It’s hard to understand how a wealthy famous person would cut their own life short. 

If you’re a praying person, maybe you could say some prayers for his family and friends today.

News like this kind of makes you want to check up on your friends and family, and ask how they’re really doing going beyond the superficial, “oh I’m fine response”, and say no really is there anything I can help with.

It just goes to show we all go through really tough things in life.  Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a break-up, disappointment, financial hopes. 

I get it.  I’ve been there.  The difference is even though it was tough, I have a relationship with God.  I believe that God had my back and He has yours too.   He has plans to prosper you, not harm you and give you a future filled with hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

If you feel there is no hope, please before you do something drastic, find someone to talk to.  Taking your own life is never the answer.  You are loved.  I care about you.  God does too.  We have pastor’s that you can talk to at 800-525-LOVE.

Today is the National Day of Prayer.  There is an event in pretty much every city in America focusing on prayer.  You can find one near you here.

I admit to you, I can’t make an event this year.  Being a working parent with 3 kids in swimming lessons, it’s just not possible.  I know that you are busy today too, you might not have the time in between work and family activities, to go to an event, but you can pray anywhere, anytime.

Maybe you just pick ONE thing to pray for.  Over your lunch hour or later tonight when the house is finally quiet.  Focus and spend time praying for that one thing.
