Save Us!

It's Holy Week! If you’re not a church-going type person you might think that is like a call to be perfect, or some religious obligation with a new list of rules to keep for a week.

No, it’s actually the opposite of that. It's a celebration that there is no more religious obligation, there is forgiveness if you choose to accept it.

Imagine you were on a boat in the middle of the ocean and while leaning over the side looking for something interesting, maybe a fish, you fell overboard! It was cold and you were afraid of drowning, and you knew you needed a life preserver. There was one that was promised, but it wasn't on the boat yet. So, you had to try to tread water as long as you could and wait for that life preserver. They kept telling you it was coming. Then finally, just as you were about to give up you are thrown that life preserver.

That must have been what the Jewish people felt like on the real Palm Sunday - which we celebrated yesterday. It's the moment Jesus d

eclared himself the Messiah, the savior, finally no more constant judgement and religious obligation.

And he entered the city of Jerusalem not on a throne carried by servants, but on a humble and lowly donkey.

And the people said, HOSANNA!  I always thought that meant, "hallelujah" or like a biblical "awesome". But, I learned from my pastor it means SAVE US!

Hosanna!  The Life Preserver is here, you just have to choose whether or not to use it.

New Man

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, grief, or doubt about whether or not God can really help them, here is something you should see.

Check out this official video of the new song, "New Man" from the group, All Things New. It's about how God can restore a broken and hopeless situation, IF you let Him.
