Change of Course

If you’ve experienced disappointment recently -something not going the way you want it to, this might encourage you.

It's about the new Pope.

Turns out when Pope Francis was just a kid, he was madly in love with a girl named Amalia Damonte. Only her dad wasn't about to let his little girl talk to boys. So she rejected him, and he decided to join the priesthood instead, and we all know where that led him!

The smallest things can change the course of a life forever.

I see that all over my life. In the midst of your grief, if you remember God's promised that He will turn your ashes into beauty, eventually you can find comfort.

Is there anything in your life that at first seemed like a disaster, now you see as a blessing?

No Regrets

Making a big life change is pretty scary, but what's even scarier, regret.

I think about that every time I hear the song "Slip On By" from Finding Favor.  It's the kind of song that makes you want to live differently.

It was inspired by a fishing trip with a Grandpa.  But, it was more than a fishing trip.  He imparted his wisdom to his Grandson about what's really important in life- time with loved ones.

My favorite part is after the stories of what the Grandpa missed out on, his grandson makes a change in his life.  The song finishes with these lyrics:

And I drove home as fast as I could go, just to let her know,
That I need her, that I love her,
That I'm never gonna let another moment like this slip on by.
Don’t let it slip on by.
We’re only here for a little while
And God gives us only so much precious time
So don't let it slip on, don't let it slip on, don't let it slip on by.
Don’t let it slip on by.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to have regret.  Does this song encourage you to live life differently?  If so, how?
