Yo Igor!

 His name is Igor Garcia.

You've probably never heard of him, but I think he's a hero.

He listens to K-LOVE while stationed in Afghanistan.  He sent me a note on Facebook and I had to share it with you.

He said:

What a treat to be able to stream you online with our slow connection. Reminds me of home! 25 days to go and I am headed back to the USA!! May God bless you for all that you and the KLOVE family do! Your hard work is being noticed worldwide!! Please pray for me and my fellow soldiers to be able to finish this deployment injury free!!

You got it Igor!  We are praying for you.

Igor is serving his country because of you.  He can listen to K-LOVE in Afghanistan because of you.  K-LOVE doesn't exist without you.  We are a listener-supported radio network.  We're family.  And if you have ever given any amount to K-LOVE, we just want to thanks. Thank you from Igor and thank you from me.

K-LOVE is able to stream online. People can listen anywhere from your kitchen to your car, because of you.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria and to the ends of the earth. - Acts 1:8

A Strong Foundation

There is just something special about Dad's and Daughters.

It's a relationship that makes a young girl feel safe and secure, while softening a grown man.  I don't know about you, but I've noticed that it doesn't stop when you grow up.

Maybe this is true in your life as well.  I'm finding myself more thankful for the relationship that I have with my dad as an adult.  It wasn't always simple, my parents divorced when I was 10. I didn't always live in the same town as him, but he was always there for me. He still is.

He just left today after a week-long visit. I made sure to take the time and tell him how much I appreciate the impact he's made on my life as a man of faith.  I still remember, whenever I was with him, he would drag me to church even when I didn't want to go.

Now as an adult, having those lessons in mind has made all of the difference. Those lessons help me to handle the curve balls that have been thrown my way. Those lessons have been much more helpful than any dance class, soccer team or music lesson.

I'm thankful that my dad made sure that I had a strong foundation in God.  I'm reminded to do the same for my kids.

It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. - Luke 6:48
