Sisters

Forgive me for getting personal today.  I just had to share with you one of my greatest blessings, and hope it inspires you to be thankful too.  I hope it encourages you to pick up the phone and tell that special personal what they mean to you.

When I turned 3 years old, my mom missed my birthday.  I didn't get a party, but it actually turned out to be the best birthday I ever had.  My little sister was born.  Yep, we were born on the same day. We are 3 years and 20 minutes apart.

I am so thankful that God gave me such a beautiful sister to live life with.  I don't know about you, but it seems like no one understands you more than your siblings.  You have shared so many of life's experiences together.  Together we got through our parent's divorce, college together, my divorce, and now she is expecting her first child! My sister, Meaghan, is the one person that can tell me when I'm out of line, forgive me, and have my back.  Most of the time she acts more like the big sister!

Today I'm thankful for the best birthday present I ever received.  Happy Birthday Meaghan!

Do you have someone like that in your life?  I would love to hear about them, and then maybe encourage you to tell them what they mean to you!

Trickle Down Effect

Here is an example that the 30 Day Challenge can have on you and the others around you.  It's a trickle down effect.

The idea is that listening to just Christian music for 30 days will help you feel more encouraged throughout your day, and draw you closer to God.

When you feel that way, others around you notice the difference, and often want what you’ve got.

The woman in the picture here started listening to k-LOVE about 8 months ago, and throuthout those 8 months, she decided she wasn’t where she wanted to be in lfie, so she began a relationship with God, and accepted Jesus as her personal savior. Last night she got baptized.

Her husband was sitting in the pews watching.  He had watched her transformation over the last 8 months, and even decided to take the 30 Day Challenge himself  Last night, after his wife was baptized, he decided he needed to get right with God too and began a relationship with Him at that service.

You just never know what it is that encourages someone to accept Jesus.  Maybe a song, a person, or all of the above.

How has the 30 Day Challenge impact you and the others around you?
