No Judgement

I don’t know about you, but the new song "Jesus in Disguise" from Brandon Heath reminds me of that verse in the bible that says, “When you serve the least of these you serve me.”

That person, you might be so quick to judge based on the way they look, or their lifestyle, is Jesus in Disguise.

I saw this thing in the news about a woman in Michigan named Telisia. She was well selling her body on the streets.  And she’s looking for the couple that came up to her and simply asked her if they could pray with her. She didn’t get change her life in that moment, that would come later, but she knew that someone was praying for her, someone cared.

Now, 14 years later she works for a ministry in her church fighting human trafficking.  She's gone to the media to find that couple who were praying for her.  She wants to say thank you.

I love what she says was the best thing about that prayer encounter, “There was no judgment – not even asking if they could help me."

Get Back Up

Sometimes it’s not winning, but losing that defines your true character.

If you’ve been following the Olympics you might have seen or heard about what happened to Liu Xiang the hurdler from China yesterday.

He was supposed to win the gold medal, took off fast, and then at the first hurdle, he fell.  It was obvious he was hurt.

He hobbled around to the side out of the way of other competitors,  and started hopping on one foot down the track, stopped, kissed the last hurdle, and limped across the finish line in last.  Then a competitor from Hungary took his arm and raised it up in victory.

It’s not about how you fall, but you how get back up.
