No Name Calling

Wishing you could take it back…

I don’t know about you, but there are times I wished I had a DVR for my mouth.

I wish I could say, “wait that came out wrong, let me just rewind, do it over.”

As a parent, as a friend, the critical things you say just seem louder than the compliments.

Saw this great piece of Relationship advice in a magazine the other day…actually ripped it out…

A guy wrote in and said, "As a child, I never witnessed my parents having a nasty argument or saying cruel things to (or about) each other.

What a beautiful and rare thing…

He wrote because of that example, he and his wife never insult each other.  They live by this saying,

"Once said, never unsaid"

Tell me some of the simple relationship advice you've received...

Happy Leap Day!

You beg for it most days, saying “I just need more hours in my day.”

Today you got it, your wish is granted.  A whole extra 24 hours for the year with Leap Day!

what are you going to do with it?  I saw where one Christian organization had this idea to "give a day back" and encourage people to use this day as a day of service.   That’s a great idea. Wish I would have seen that before today.

Then I read this verse from the bible and it reminded me really how easy it is to do something for someone else during your day.

"You have been called to live in freedom.  Don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but serve one another in love."  -Gal. 5:13

So, I’m going to use my freedom today…to do something nice for someone else, not sure what that is yet…

What will you do with your extra 24 hours?

For me, first I have to take all 3 of my kids to the dentist...oh yeah...this is no task for mere mortals.  Then off to do something nice for someone else.

Share your leap day with me here, on Facebook or on Twitter.
