Don’t Sit and Wallow. Go and Do.

Mom’s always right…

Wonder if you feel this way too…it seems the older you get, the smarter your mother becomes.

When you’re 16 everything she says sounds crazy…but when you’re 36 like me…she’s a genius…

I needed her today…and she knew it…so she sent me this thing that she reads in the mornings…Oswald Chambers.

If you are in love with someone, you don't sit and daydream about that person all the time -- you go and do something for him.

And that is what Jesus Christ expects us to do.   Just as he loves us…he asks to love others…

By loving people no matter what they might look like or what they’ve done.

That’s it….if you’re feeling woe is me….don’t  Sit and Wallow but  Go and Do for someone else….

Favorite Child

You are God’s Favorite.

Have a friend who was praying for years to be able to conceive a child.  When she finally got the good news that she was expecting, she couldn’t wait to tell me.

What she said to me I found stunning.  She said, “I feel like I’m God’s favorite.”

She wasn’t angry that it took so long for God to answer her prayer.  She wasn’t upset that conceiving a child wasn’t easy for her, she felt like God’s favorite child.

She had grown up knowing that believing in Jesus wasn’t about keeping a list of rules, it’s more like falling in love with someone who loves you back unconditionally.

Today’s Encouraging word reminds me of that.

“God’s thoughts towards you are countless, they outnumber the grains of sand.”  -Psalm 139:17-18

The hairs on your head are numbered (Luke 12:7)

He is enthralled with your beauty (Psalm 45:11)

He rejoices over you with singing.  (Zephaniah 3:17)

Don’t think for a second you are the sum of your mistakes.

You are His favorite.
