Run Away or Run to God

I don’t know about you, but I don’t follow racing very much.  I admit before Sunday, I didn’t know who Dan Wheldon was.

Dan is a husband to Susie, a father to two boys; Sebastion (2 years) and Oliver (6 months). Dan lost his life at his job this past weekend, doing what he loved - driving an Indy Car at a race in Las Vegas.

I can’t imagine what that must feel like for Susie.  I find myself praying for her that she is able to somehow find comfort for her and her boys.

I don’t know if she has a relationship with God, but I am praying that she does.  When your life is in a crisis, I think people do one of two things, run away from God, or run to God.  I pray that she runs to Him.  I am praying that she finds someone to help her and guide her to God.

Throughout my life of faith so far, I have learned that God never causes bad things to happen to us.  They happen, because we live in a fallen world where people make mistakes and do bad things to us.  God is there for us to comfort us and love us in spite of the bad things.

Kathy's Call

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

“For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13.

With Humble Gratitude

"Love cures people -- both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it." - Dr. Karl Augustus Menninger

Thank you so much for loving others over the past two weeks with your gifts of prayers and financial contributions to K-LOVE.  You gave of yourself so others can receive love.  You are loving families like Lindsay's from Andrews, TX...

"My husband and I just had our first child...6 weeks early and is still living in the NICU in a town 45 minutes from home.  We did what any sane parents would do and moved my in laws horse trailer with a small living quarters up front to the hospital parking lot with our 3 little dogs and will live here until our sweet Grace gets to go home.  I have no TV and spend several hours a day in the trailer just me and the dogs so K-LOVE is constantly playing on the radio and I have moments where my faith waivers and it seems every time I walk in the trailer in one of those moods, the right song at the right time is playing.  When my husband got back to the trailer from work the other day, he asked if I thought we could afford to double our giving to K-LOVE, my first thought was how could we afford not too."

Here's my personal thank you note, for praying and for pledging.  From my family to yours, thank you for curing broken hearts through your love.

I love Kate's call about Laura Story "Blessings."  She is an example of who you are encouraging by giving through K-LOVE.
