MaMa Bear

You ever think to yourself, "someone should do something about that." I don’t know about you, but I tend to be that someone, and get in so much trouble. 

I gotta hand it to this mom of 4 in the Phoenix area.  She thought the playground at her McDonalds was too dirty.  So she went public with it.

She also happens to be an Arizona State Professor.  Erin found trash, used band-aids and dangerous bacteria then she actually took videos, posted them online, and did lab tests. 

Now, the owner of the group of McDonalds in the Valley area banned her from their restaurants.   They called her a mom-crusader and it’s spreading.  Other mom’s are saying, they will take swabs for her!

I think it’s time for a new term. I like "MaMa Bear:" someone who doesn’t just think someone should do something about that, she is that someone.  She is the one that points out injustice and changes the world. 

Wonder what you could go all MaMa Bear on?  I’d like to see fast food restaurants put a lid on kids milk.  Seriously why is that every other drink at fast food places has a lid and straw, except the kids milk. 

If you ever have experienced spilled chocolate milk all over a car seat you’d go all “MaMa Bear" too.

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN BY A MAMA BEAR.  I HAVE THREE DAUGHTERS AND THEY ATTEND PUBLIC SCHOOL.  RECENTLY MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER WAS TOLD THAT SHE HAD TO DO A REPORT ON EVOLUTION...SHE CAME HOME AND TOLD ME THAT SHE JUST COULDN'T DO IT AS A BELIEVER...I CONTACTED THE TEACHER WHO INSISTED THAT SHE HAD TO WRITE ON EVOLUTION AND NOT CREATION.  TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, I HAD TO TAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE ADMINISTRATION, BUT MY SHAYNA GOT TO WRITE ON CREATION AND SHARE WITH THE ENTIRE CLASS THAT WE ARE ALL FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE BY THE HAND ON GOD.  AMEN.  LOVE TO ALL THE MAMA BEARS OUT THERE!

I'd go "MaMa Bear" on abortion.  Now, especially since I have a baby of my own, I think Moms need to speak up for all the innocent little babies out there...whether they belong to us or not.

Hi, Amanda.  I know this isn't the right place for this, but I'd like to ask that the song Vice Verses, from the Switchfoot album of the same name, be in KLOVE's play rotation.  The song has special meaning to me and to many others, I'd guess.  Maybe the subject is too touchy.  But for we who have lost a child (for us, our two girls, 31 and 28, 2 years ago and 3 months ago respectively), the line "You've got your babies, I've got my hearses, every blessing comes with a set of curses" rings so true, and it needs to be talked about.  The grief and loneliness is horrific, but to have to hide it so that others aren't upset makes it unbearable.  And in our new circle of brothers and sisters, it's all too common, and unnecessary.  And I have heard the song once on KLOVE, when Switchfoot was in the studio.  I'm sorry to unload on you, sometimes we just need to talk.  And the beauty of it is that even if you quit reading it, it's not like we see you turning and walking away.  And I believe you wouldn't do that anyway.

That is priceless! Sounds like my mom. She used to let me and my older brother play in those public playgrounds, but finally it got so gross that we stopped using them altogether. My 4 younger siblings probably don't even think about it.

BTW- I LOVE listening to you on the radio. I was a little startled the first day when I heard a new voice, but after a couple of days I was loving listening to you. I love hearing about your kids, they sound like my little siblings. Children are such a blessing.
