Shock and Hope

I have been praying for the victims of the last week's tornadoes, and I couldn't agree more with Michelle. We, as Christians, tend to forget I John 4:8 as well as John 3:16.  God IS love and God loves us. We should never blame God for the evil that happens.  We need to remember the story of Job. It was Satan who brought the storm that killed his children, not God.  It was Satan who afflicted Job's body with disease, not God. These are "acts of Satan" not "acts of God". And as Michelle said, we should go to God for help (Matthew 11:28).

They are definitely in my prayers today.  I just read about the 2 yr. old baby that was found in the field alive has now passed away into the loving arms of Jesus.  My heart goes out to all the victims and families of the victims too.  

I run a card-making challenge blog called "Stampin' Sisters in Christ" (http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/)where we post a Scripture and try to offer encouraging thoughts on it and then provide a card challenge based on that Scripture, and this week's verse is Psalm 91:4a "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge."

What a blessed assurance that we can run to the loving arms of Jesus during our most challenging and heartbreaking trials in this life.  

Henryville and all of the areas hit Friday are in my prayers.  I live in Charlestown, which is about 10 miles from Henryville.  My wife is from Henryville, and her mother still lives there.  While some may blame God for the storms, He also brings the sun.  We were there Saturday helping my wife's family clean up and start the repair process, and the outpouring of love and help, shows me clearly that God does not give any of us anymore than we can handle. If we have faith, we never go it alone.  There were angels there in Henryville Saturday.  They didn't have harps, but rather chain saws, generators, water, food and a willingness to help those in need. God Bless all who came to help.

Love God, Faith Promise, Pastor Chris and Michelle and everyone and want to serve as I believe God through Christ saved at 12 and felt like the Lord was always working with me and shaping me through HIS Active, Living Words of God....did not realize it then age 15 when I suddenly lost my dad and my mom was suddenly "widowed" at age 38 with five daughters age 6 to 18 with no outside income.....the LORD would walk me up in the middle of the night and I would go and set and love and encourage my mom who I would find sitting up in the kitchen in the dark.....and even during my experiences wondering why people especially in the military would come up to me and share their saddest experiences.
Lord show me all of us the BEST ways to help those in need! in Jesus name AMEN
