Healing for a Victim of Bullying

The thing about being a kidyou don’t understand differences.  You see it as something wrong.
Maybe you can remember back, if you dare, to junior high, and the teasing.

If you have school age kids, you’ve probably heard all about anti-bullying programs they have now.  Wish they had those when I was in school.  She does too.  I saw this story about a woman who instead of going to her 25th high school reunion she posted this poem on her Facebook page:

that little girl who came to school with the clothes she wore the day before
instead of asking why.. you picked on her
the little girl who had to walk to school while others rode the bus
instead of asking why.. you picked on her
the little girl who had bruises and was dirty
instead of asking why.. you picked on her
the little girl who was always crying
instead of asking why.. you picked on her

Her classmates saw it and were shattered.  They felt so bad for making fun of her differences instead of helping her, that they flew her in for the reunion, and started a scholarship fund in her name.

Man, makes me want to go back and say some apologies.

I was that child, I was abused, molested, wore second hand clothes, walked to school, and made fun of it all through school K-12. I was kicked out of my home shortly after my real mother died by my dad and step mom!My dad said I looked to much like my mother!LOL... My sister and brother done the same way.I found it as a blessing because I am a strong person, mother, independent women who never let words break her spirit. Only if I could of gotten a better education to financially support my kids better or if I had better parents who cared about my future like they do my step brothers. God definitely watched over me. I am fully involved with my children and sometimes feel like i am to much in their lives. I have them and church and lead by example. I thank my parents now, because I can say I am a person and parent who cares about the out come and God helped me see that. What a blessing.

To add to that, I actually got kicked out of my 10 year reunion cause I spoke my mind on how I was picked on along with others and I had created an alternate reunion for those who wanted to be around those who cared and not those who picked and proded afraid of what they may say now.
