If you’re wondering why I’m spending so much time talking and writing about this Unglued
book, and why I think it’s so important to make wise choices in the midst of raw emotions. Here’s why: It’s about PR.
In college, I was in a sorority. One of the things that was expected of us if we were wearing our “letters,” we needed to look good. We were supposed to be a good representation for “the brand.”
If you believe in God, then you represent a brand. Maybe you wear a cross necklace, or have a bumper sticker on your car, same thing. It’s not necessarily about looking good on the outside, but acting in a loving non-judgmental way. Treat others the way Jesus would. Don’t come “Unglued”. You represent Him.
I had a pastor that once said, “God has a PR problem, we’re all walking around misrepresenting Him.”
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be as Lysa says, “a plastic version of Godliness,” or an Exploder, or a Stuffer, or someone that points out what is wrong with everyone all the time. I don't want to be a PR problem. I want to be a real, loving, and forgiving, example for God.
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” –John 13:34-35
