You seem to give more if you know what it feels like to struggle.
One of those new studies out today, saying that people that have money less, give more. They found that families earning less give about 7 and a half percent of their income, where families earning more give almost 3 percent.
Reminds you of that story of The Widow’s Offering in the bible.
"Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins."
I love how Jesus pointed her out…
"Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others…for they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.” -Mark 12: 41-44
Love what Alisa, a K-LOVE listener from Kansas City ,said about this.
She said growing up they didn't have much, but her Grandmother made it very clear that, "the greatest investment you can ever make is our tithing and offering."
