Cheering You On...

If you think it’s too late for you, or you’re too out of shape to even try to get healthy again, check out the story of my friend, John.

John used to be my boss at a Christian radio station in Washington D.C.  About 5 years ago he got on a health kick and lost half his body weight.  He lost over 100 pounds just by eating healthy and walking.  He was an inspiration.  He became a cheerleader for others to get healthy, get moving.

By loosing all that weight, he got a second chance in life, and he made the most out of it. It’s a good thing he did because no one knew that his life was going to be cut short. He passed away this morning after a sudden illness. He died too young.  It’s funny how sometimes loss can be your greatest inspiration.

If you made a new year’s resolution to change your life, be healthy, loose weight, or whatever, don’t give up!  There are lots of skeptics that will say you will break it. Maybe even you are your own skeptic.  Ignore them. Ignore the voice of doubt.  I am here cheering you on!!

"May the voices that cheer you on, be louder than the voices that don't" -www.traceyclark.com

If you really want a change, or improve something in your life, go after it with reckless abandon.   It’s a cliché, but it’s true; you never know how long you have.  Do everything you can to live this life that you have been given to the fullest.

You only get one trip around the block.  Make it count.

Live fully, love fully,

Amanda

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline" -2 Timonthy 1:7 (NLT)

I gained 15 lbs over the last 6 months.I've been working long hard hours that are very stressful as a police dispatcher and eating poorly. My long hours wear me down, but I shouldn't use it as an excuse to eat poor and not workout.I'm very sorry for your loss, but God used your loss and your words to reach me.I'm getting back to the gym, starting today.By the way I began listening to KLOVE a year ago in February.I listen to it about 98% of the time. Thanks to my friend's Dawn and Josh who introduced me to it

Amanda,

Thank you so much for posting in John's Memory. I was a faithful listener of WGTS and moved to the west coast just before you did. I still continued to listen to the station as it was You and the others who helped pull me out of tough times of illness.  I awoke to the news of his passing and as saddened as I am, I can't imagine how those who were close to him must feel. Your words of encouragement are so profoundly appreciated today and every day. God Bless The WGTS Family and You for being such an inspiration in Christ.
