You can get so caught up in what happened to you in your past that it affects your outlook on your future.
I heard about this one stall at a college girls dorm, that became a collection of their bad life experiences. Until one girl posted a letter, covering up all the bad experiences, and responded to them with this:

You are strong
You are brave
You are loved
Somebody Cares
Sounds like a girl that knows Jesus
