Sisters

Forgive me for getting personal today.  I just had to share with you one of my greatest blessings, and hope it inspires you to be thankful too.  I hope it encourages you to pick up the phone and tell that special personal what they mean to you.

When I turned 3 years old, my mom missed my birthday.  I didn't get a party, but it actually turned out to be the best birthday I ever had.  My little sister was born.  Yep, we were born on the same day. We are 3 years and 20 minutes apart.

I am so thankful that God gave me such a beautiful sister to live life with.  I don't know about you, but it seems like no one understands you more than your siblings.  You have shared so many of life's experiences together.  Together we got through our parent's divorce, college together, my divorce, and now she is expecting her first child! My sister, Meaghan, is the one person that can tell me when I'm out of line, forgive me, and have my back.  Most of the time she acts more like the big sister!

Today I'm thankful for the best birthday present I ever received.  Happy Birthday Meaghan!

Do you have someone like that in your life?  I would love to hear about them, and then maybe encourage you to tell them what they mean to you!

You are the first person I've heard of to also have a sibling born that way. I too know the feeling of having an almost twin sibling. My little sister was born June 3rd, 1988, exactly 5 years after me. It definitely remains the most unique present I ever received for my birthday.

thank you for this. as for me i am reminded that GOD does not make mistakes. my thing is i was drinking in a town and at that bar one young man  was broke stranded with a pregant wife. so i said to them if he needed a job i got a job for him. all i needed was bodies to show up on a jobsite. nothing else. well we had dinner and i told him i can fix his car the next day. that  is the paymet for helping me get the job so i can have money to drink more beer. well i never got around to drinking that next beer. my story is this young guy showed me the bible and for everything he showed me i taught him construction. fire fighting. automachanics. and both of us took parenting classes. well when i parted ways in the bank i gave him the keys to my work truck with ALL THE TOOLS included and i told him be the best he can be. go build your future. that was years ago. well last year he found me , his father and him are now in business together. hahaha he still gots the work truck i gave him.
