If you appreciate the right to vote, the ability to go to school, freedom to pursue the career of your choice, thank those that have gone before you and remember those that aren’t as fortunate to have won the lottery and live in America.
Today, I went to google something and they had one of their different main images to recognize a holiday…didn’t know it was holiday. Clicked on it and discovered it’s International Women’s Day. It's a day to commemorate the advancements made in the rights of women all over the world.
I don’t know about you, but when I see stories of what women go through in other countries, fighting to be able to go to school, or even for the right to drive. I feel blessed, and a little guilty, that I take my freedoms as an American woman for granted.
You know the bible says, if two or more on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you. (Matthew 18:19)
So maybe you could join me in prayer tonight before dinner and pray for those women that aren’t as as fortunate to have the freedoms that you and I so often take for granted.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.” –Isaiah 61:1
