Your life may not be the way you want it to be yet, but it’s the way it is. You can choose to wallow in it, or make the best out of it.
I'm working hard at that this week while my 3 sunshines are with their Dad for Spring Break. It's a great thing.
I admit, as a single parent, I was looking forward to the time to myself. I made a long list of things to do, but 3 days later, the quiet is deafening. I hate it.
I was starting to get in the countdown until when they come back. Thinking to myself "Just hang on 6 more days". Then, I heard a friend of mine say she makes sure in her life that there is, “No Day Wasted”.
She doesn’t want to wish away her life by worrying, waiting, or being consumed by fear. Why be so worried about something that may or may not happen? There's no point.
Every day is a chance to do something meaningful. To be with the ones you love, to pray about the things you’re worried about, to do something - not just nothing.
So instead of thinking "just hang on", I'm changing my inner monologue to "No Day Wasted."
This morning as I was driving to work I came across this sunrise, snapped a picture for you. It reminded me of my Grandmother's favorite bible verse:
“This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” -Psalm 118:24
