You have probably heard and maybe reluctantly seen pictures of Miley Cyrus online over the past few days. If you haven’t, don’t google it.
I tried to avoid it. I intentionally did not talk or write about what happened at the VMA's yesterday. l just didn't think it was appropriate. Honestly, I was afraid of your comments. Now I regret not talking about it. I'm realizing that’s part of the problem.
Last night I saw blogs and posts with everyone's condemning reactions to the way she danced and what she was wearing, which I totally get.
Then I just felt embarrassed for her, and found myself praying for the people around her. Obviously there's no one around her to say, "uh hey that's too far."
I hope a friend would do the same for me. It also makes me hope that I would be the kind of friend that would have the guts to speak up, when I see a friend hurting and acting in a way that might not be the best for them. Before it gets on national television, and on everyone's Twitter feed.
Oh God, help a friend take a stand for Miley with love.
"As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." -Proverbs 27:17
