If you’ve ever dreamed about doing something, but dismissed it, because you thought it was too hard, like running in a marathon, well this guy might change your mind. His name is Maickel Melamed.
When he was born, his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and deprived him of oxygen. His parents were told he would never walk, never talk, and wouldn’t even live 7 days.
38 years later, he speaks 3 languages, has a degree in economics, and climbs mountains. Over the weekend, He finished dead last in the Chicago Marathon. It took him 16 hours and 46 minutes. He walked because he has muscular dystrophy.
He told a news reporter at the finish line:
"If you dream it, make it happen because your life is the most beautiful thing that could happen to you. So make the best of it."
