Here is a cute story about the selfless act of a 6 year old. I could learn a lot from this kid, I think.
Brandon Jacobs signed with the 49ers in the offseason after spending his entire career with the Giants. One 6-year-old Giants fan was so sad to see him go, he sent Jacobs $3.36 to convince him to re-sign with theteam after being told that the defending Super Bowl champs couldn’t afford to keep him.
The fan letter was sent to Jacobs by the young boy’s mother, on behalf of her son. This was his message to Jacobs:
Dear Mr. Jacobs,
So you could go to the Giants, here is my money.
Naturally, Jacobs was touched by the letter. He sent the following tweets:
Brandon Jacobs @gatorboy45
"I almost cried, I am still trying to hold it in. I may have to pay him a surprise visit."
If you come across someone who is experiencing loneliness and would like to help them out, an immediate answer? Smile. Recent research reveals that this tiny gesture can make people feel more connected. "Ostracism is painful," said study researcher Eric Wesselmann, a social psychologist at Purdue University in Indiana.
Reminded me of Psalm 31: 16 from The Message Version, “Warm me, your servant, with a smile; save me because you love me.”
