My wife, Dean, enjoys the Thrill of the Hunt when she is garage sailing! Case in point....the bathroom mirror in this picture cost $30. Because the light above it was a demo unit at Lowe's and the last one in the store, it was sold for a discount price of $50, including the 3 bulbs! A little touch up paint, and, bathroom look for less than $100!

National Day of Prayer

by Ron Prentice,
Chief Exceutive Officer

Tomorrow, the first Thursday in the month of May, marks the annual National Day of Prayer. In towns and cities across the country, people will be gathering together, taking their praises and appeals to the Lord.

If you have not yet made plans to participate in a community time of prayer, you may find events near you by clicking here.
Thousands of prayer events will take place, in front of city halls, in churches, and at places of business. Events are planned from pre-dawn, throughout the day, and into the evening.

“Prayer is the greatest of all forces, because it honors God and brings him into active aid.”
E.M. Bounds

“The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity. If we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let us answer God’s standing challenge, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not!’”
J. Hudson Taylor

“Intercession is truly universal work for the Christian. No place is closed to intercessory prayer. No continent – no nation – no organization – no city – no office. There is no power on earth that can keep intercession out.”
Richard Halverson

Tomorrow, as you join with others to give thanks and lift requests to God, listen to the “concert” of prayer that is taking place in your midst.
It is a divine orchestra and it is music to the ears of God.

No other activity is as powerful to change society than united prayer to Almighty God.

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:23-25

Kudos to mom and dad!

Mothers and fathers really have a legacy to pass down to their family….being an example to their kids through thick and thin! I know this 16 year old is now stronger in her faith because of what she saw modeled by her folks! Psalm 23:6

Here is the REAL FOOD BROWNIES recipe!  With dates, garbanzo beans, honey, walnut oil and eggs. No flour. No gluten!

Published in Bottom Line, Natural Healing with Dr. Mark Stengler,  Newsletter Jan. 2011

Recipe created by Jonny Bowden, CNS and Jeannette Bessinger, authors of “The Healthiest Meals on Earth” (Fair Winds)

1 ¼ cups (about 10 oz.) pitted dates (Deglet/Noor)

            I had

9 Tablespoons raw cacao or cocoa powder

¼ cup macadamia nut oil.  I used toasted walnut oil cause that is what I had

½ cup raw honey

2 cups canned garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained

4 eggs

½ teas. Baking powder

1 teas. Ground cinnamon

Preheat over to 350 F. Measure dates into liquid measuring cup, pour in hot water to the 1 ½ cup line, turning the dates over until the water reaches all the dates.  Let sit for at least 10 min.   Pour off and discard ¼ cup of the liquid, and process the remaining liquid and dates in a blender or food processor until a smooth paste forms.

Put the date paste into a large bowl, and add the cacao or cocoa powder, oil and honey, mixing well.  Combine the beans and eggs in a blender or food processor and process until smooth.  Add the bean mix to the date mix stiring well.  Add the baking powder and cinnamon.  Stir.  Pour the batter into a 9 x 13in. nonstick or well greased pan.  Bake for 40-45 min. until the toothpick comes out clean.  Cool for at least 15 min.   Makes 18 brownies.
