I saw Colt McCoy's interview last night and was also just blown away by his humility and faith.  I've often thought how rare it is that we see those in the spotlight give God praise when things don't go well (don't see them point to the sky when they make mistakes, etc.)  Colt has a maturity far beyond my own, and I am thankful I was able to witness God's spirit within him.

What an awesome testimony by Colt McCoy!  I watched the game and heard his postgame interview.  I just wanted to reach out and hug him when he initially choked up.  But when he said that even though he didn't understand it but new God was in control I cheered!  And now to hear him talk about his faith and publicly put himself 2nd just fills me with joy and inspiration.  I have an 11 year old son who absolutely loves Jesus and football.  It is a constant battle with the world teaching him to be focused on faith first.  I will sit him and his 16 year old sister down after school this afternoon and have them watch this.  God bless you Colt McCoy for your testimony and KLOVE for posting such postive and inspirational message

Colt,

It is so great to see that you are so grounded in Christ.... He is all that matters.  I pray that my children can follow the example that you and the rest of our young people set forth.. knowing that He is the Author and Finisher of our faith..... God Bless you in all you do...

Dear Brother in Christ! I think it's implied that you're putting yourself 3rd with God and neighbor 1st and 2nd. It's not easy putting ourselves last, but the Lord gave the example of being a servant to all unto their salvation. Peace!

I just wanted to say what an incredible young man Colt McCoy is.  I am actually an Oklahoma fan living in Austin, TX, dangerous, I know.  I gained a whole new respect for the Texas Longhorns and Colt last night watching that game and hearing his comments.  I wish there were more atheletes out there like Colt.  I will be praying for his health and his future, but I already know God has an amazing plan for him.

Thanks for the quick posting of the video.  I've got the quote in the body of my text, and hope to use it to inspire others to develop a relationship with Christ that, when we face adversity, we can say, like Colt did, " I always give God the glory.  I never question why things happen the way they do.  God is in control of my life and I know, if nothing else, I'm standing on the Rock."
Thank You, Jesus, Colt, and KLove.

Colt McCoy is a great guy.  My son qualified for a Texas high school regional golf tournament and played a round of golf with Colt as part of the four-some.  This was high school days, but even then Colt was a role model for all of us.  We have followed his career and marveled at his talent.  Most of all, we are so pleased to see his commitment to his faith.  He could so easily be on an ego trip with the postion he has held, but he continues to use it to glorify his Savior.  We can all take a lesson from that.  Thank you so much for sharing this with us today.  It is an awesome way to use the heartbreak of last night's game to share the message of God.  What a blessing for all of us.

What an awe inspiring interview.  What a powerful man of God.   It is one thing to stand and praise god with a good attitude after a great win; but much more it is to stand and praise God after a great loss.
God didn't take anything away from this young man by him not playing last night; He has something even better for him!! I praise God for his witness on national TV.
Let's watch and see what is going to do with Colt now!  Longhorns; good job!
Gary Gilbert, bless you for your courage to carry on in a difficult situation.  Your attitude on the field was inspiration as well.  Looking for great things from you next year!

I never knew that Colt McCoy was a believer until last night. And I am a huge football fan...except for the longhorns. I'm from Arkansas...enough said. But, I will say the respect I didn't have for McCoy doubled last night. I am very impressed and humbled beyond belief for his testimony last night and what he has done with his team. McCoy and Tebow have earned a lot respect in the football world and I know, no matter where they end up, they will always be sharing the gospel and reaching out to people in need.

I am so glad to be a college football fan the last few years.  Young men such as Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy are so inspiring.  Last night was the first time a had heard Colt talk about Christ on a national broadcast, but I was not surprised.  I had watched a video with Colt and Sam Bradford on youtube talking about their witness that they are able to have.  I'm a die hard OU Sooner fan and I don't like the Longhorns but I put that aside this year because of my respect for Colt.  God Bless!

I am so proud of Colt McCoy.  I have been listening to his post game interviews all season long and he has always put God first in his interviews.  Many blessings to him and I want to leave him with scripture, " My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart, He is mine forever." Psalms 73:26  God bless you always Colt.  You are the big champion in my eyes.

What a blessing to hear such a wonderful young man speak about his true heart felt feelings on the Lord!!  And to hear his passion for football and his passion to win but HIS first true passion to be a Christian and to want to lead others to Christ and for others to remember him for that and not football!!  I believe that is why the Lord blessed him with that talent was to bring people to Christ through "football".  Great testimony Colt and may God continue to bless you!

I just watched both these video.....i have to agree with Vickie.  I think it's awesome that Colt is standing up for what he believes in and giving God all the glory for his gifts and experiences.  However, we should always consider ourselves third.  God is first, family/friends/even strangers are second, and we are third.  God's Word is an ultimate and Gayle Sayers' book I am Third is a great example of that statement.

I also forgot to comment on Gilbert, because I heard to much negativity from many about how poorly he was playinga at the beginning, but did people realize how much this brand new freshment was under pressure, and had to pick up the slack because McCoy could no longer play. The whole world was on his shoulders and he came back stronger and on target in the second half. I used to be a lot into football but not lately, although when I watched this game it gave me so much inspiration and it's like Gilbert and the rest of the team was facing a big Goliath. McCoy is right God is in Control and in everything. Gilbert great job and I can say I will be watching Longhorn football probably more now to see Gilbert shine. My prayers are that the Lord will put McCoy with the right team and the right coach to fulfill the purposes and plans he has for him. God Bless McCoy, Gilbert, and the whole UT football game, they too me were the true winners because they proved that they could still win when they came from so far behind, and they don't need a materialistic trophy to prove that, it was already written in their hearts when they all showed class after their game. That was a true victory although it was Bama's turn to be in the spotlight. God has a season for everything and the Longhorns has already won not too long ago and it was Bama's turn to shine. God was full of grace for both teams. Congrats too al teams. I wished that the UT Longhorns would still receive a victory parade because their humility and hardwork showed they were true victors. God Bless All of You and thanks that even in this football game you inspired many people including myself.

Colt said he doesn't question why things happen the way they do. I can make a guess--because he is now able to be a stronger witness for the Lord than he ever would have if he'd finished the game. It is heartbreaking that he had to miss his final game, and the national championship at that. But I believe that his courage and faith in the face of such a huge disappointment will lead more to Christ than anyone can ever know. I look forward to seeing what Colt does in the future.

It is so awesome just to see all of the great young Christian athletes that are out there today. I think everyone who follows college football knows about Tim Tebow and his unashamed love of Christ. But I never knew about Colt McCoy until last night and his words showed just how firm his faith is. I strongly suggest to everyone to visit www.iamsecond.com. To remember to praise God in joy and hardship publically is hard.  Here's to praying that Colt will discover Gods Will.  Being from Nebraska, we were looking forward to seeing Colt take Alabama apart last night, was very shocked to see God's work visable on nationwide television through him in a very different manner. Darn those Texans - it's becoming harder and harder to dislike them.

this dare is what i needed.  wisdom, guideness, and the word.  i have alot of flawes, and i find this not a dare but a growing experience.  my husband and i have been married for 18 years and i am the first to admit i married him for the wrong reasons.  i came from a very abusive family and he was my ticket out.  i admitted this to my husband 5 years ago when i confessed with my mouth and believed it in my heart that Jesus is my Lord and Savior.  but i knew something else was missing... and this was it.  it's not a struggle but a relieve to know what it is what i am doing wrong, learn from it, and have scripture to back it up. I had no idea who Colt McCoy was until the game last night.  I am so inspired by his testimony at the end of the evening.  To have his dream shattered in the beginning of this championship game, and still be able to give glory to God on TV, is one of the most victorious moments I've ever witnessed!  What an incredible young man...and big kuddos to his parents for the job they did in raising him.

I googled his name after the game and found out that his given name is Daniel!  How fitting a name for a young man whose heart seems to parallel the Daniel of the Bible.

Thanks Colt, for the encouragement and the role model.  You may have done more for God's glory through your injury last night than if you'd have won the game.  My husband and I are praying for you.

God is so GOOD All the Time and God IS Always in Control.  What an inspiration Colt McCoy is. Especially in my life through the Texas game last night and this morning after logging onto K-Love.  I have nothing but admiration and respect for Colt McCoy .  I have to admit that I have only caught bits & pieces of the Texas games over the past several years, however I do recognize several of the current and past players by name, since I have a 16 year old son who is and has been a HUGE Longhorn’s fan both in baseball and football for as long as I can remember.  He has not missed a game that I am aware of, until last night because he had to work.  So, last night's game was the first Texas game I watched in its entirety.  It was up to me to keep him updated on the game, which I did by texting back and forth with play by play detail.

The whole game was very exciting for me as well as my son.  Being the mother I am I get more excited over the players and personal issues than the actual game itself.  When Colt McCoy was injured my texting updates changed.  Now my step by step detail was more of a detail report of Colt, his injury’s and his prognosis then the details of the game.  I even texted my son to let him know that Colt’s dad had now entered the locker room.   However, sad but true, when the game was over I changed the channel to our local evening News and missed Colt McCoy’s amazing postgame interview.

But by God’s Grace & Glory this afternoon I logged on to listen to K-love while at work and right there was the main page was this amazing interview by Colt McCoy.  Of course after last nights game I immediately played Colt’s postgame interview followed by Colt’s personal testimony “I Am Second”.   As I was listening I was drawn to tears.  Tears of joy, honor and excitement streamed down my cheeks as I heard Colt speak, just to know that “My” son, has chosen Colt McCoy as his “Admiration”, “Role Model” and “Sport Hero” was so overwhelming to me.  To hear his passion for football and his passion to win but HIS first true passion to be a Christian and to want to lead others to Christ and for others to remember him for that and not football and that no matter what God was in control and he was OK with that, his humbleness and strong conviction of faith just blew me away.

You will never truly know what an impact this has had on me, it’s been truly amazing.  As a single mom raising children in today’s world has a tendency to be a bit stressful.  My faith has always been very strong and I have tried to raise my children to keep those same convictions and keep God number one in their lives, just as Colt has expressed.  We have truly been blessed as a family and my children have been blessed with many talents and gifts from God.  My son has always had a strong faith and is truly a gifted athlete, artist and loving human young man.  However for the past several years since my divorce he has battled on and off with depression.  This past year or so things have been very extremely difficult for him.  He has even experience some bouts of complete hopelessness and struggles with his own sense of faith.  This just breaks my heart, there is nothing worse then seeing your child go through such torment and not being able to help or take it away.

Just that very morning my son was going through yet, another one of those devastating experiences, and expressing his anger and doubts on the reality of God himself.  “If there really God the is/that wouldn’t happen”. You know we all go through that to one degree or another.  As I was loving on my son and trying to encourage & support him through this time, it felt as though my heart was truly being ripped out of my chest.  By the Grace of God he did build himself up enough and went to work even though he would miss the game of the year.  Thus, why I was watching this game in the first place.  Thank God!

Colt McCoy, Thank you for your words of encouragement to him and all of us during your postgame interview.  You are truly an inspiration.  After school today I asked him if he watched your interview last night, and he had.  He said to me “You don’t even need to say it, cuz I know what you’re gonna say”.  So I didn’t say a word (that’s no easy task for me).  He then said “He is Good!” meaning you Colt. All it takes is the faith of a mustard seed and I think you planted that again in him.  I just wish that he had a positive male role model like you actively in his life.  It is a wonderful gift being his mother however, every boy needs a positive male role model for guidance and support.  I continually pray that God places someone just like you in his life.  Please know that if you are inspired in this endeavor we definitely are interested.  Who knows with Gods grace he may even end up Longhorn himself.  He already is in spirit!  You are in my prayers for healing.  May God be with you today & always!

For this young man to witness during this heartbreaking time is awesome beyond imagination.  I applaud Colt McCoy for having no reservation about putting God first in this time of disappointment for him.

My family and I are huge fans of the Longhorns!  We have watched Colt throughout his career.  He is a talented athlete that has always put God first.  He is a great example and inspiration to us all.  Even though last night did not go as planned, God had a bigger plan.  Look at the outflow of support and encouragement from his testimony after the game.  Praise be to God! So glad to be on "God's Team".

Wow!!What an awesome young man Colt is. His team might have lost a game, but he has gain so much just by having God in his life. Thank You Colt for not being afraid to speak his word.

I think its so awsome that he stands up and speaks the truth & his faith In Jesus Christ. I wish others in positions such as his would take the courage to step out an speak the truth as he does here! Thank you KLove & Thank You Colt McCoy For being what God needs you to be a voice and a light in this dark world!

it is so refreshing to see a guy like Colt share his faith publicly like that. it's so uncommon to find Christians who are willing to share their faith in a college environment where students living for Christ are sometimes hard to find. i appreciate Colt's willingness to stand for Christ and to keep Him first in his life.

Colt McCoy & Jordan Shipley witness at every game.  At the Big 12 Championship game, Jordan was on the sidelines quoting Jeremiah 17:7...Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.

In his speech as the Heismann runner up, Colt praised God.

Neither of them think twice about giving God all the glory & it's such an awesome thing to see.  Those are two young men talk the talk & walk the walk.

There is rarely a Sunday morning they aren't at church, even after an out of town game where they haven't gotten back to their dorms in the wee hours of the morning.  I love that my kids can watch them on tv Saturday night & then see them at church worshipping God right along with us on Sunday morning!  What great role models for little kids!

All I have to say to the people who are saying Colt didn't go back in last night because he was saving himself for the NFL is this...if Colt were hurt & couldn't ever play again he would still glorify God & tell you that it only meant God had bigger & better things in store for him.

Colt McCoy & Jordan Shipley have big things planned for them.  Whether it's the NFL or not, they will witness for & glorify God.

We are thankful for these young men, the families who raised them, the great football they gave us at The University of Texas, the great things they have done, the even greater things they will do, the positive influence they have been to so many, & the love they have for the Lord.

Hook 'em!

I love college football and Texas is one of my favorite teams and one of the reason is becaus of colt becuse he is  christain and he lets everyone know it. Being college you face a lot of difficulties with life and sports and showing what god has done through colt and tim is amazing and that is the type of person that i wanna marry and the type of person i want to become! Those two quarter backs are amazing and I am really going to miss them next year because you knew every time they stepped on the filed what they stood for!

He also inspires me to be a better christian.

Wow! what a strong testimony from a fine young man. As written earlier, it's easy to praise God when " things go your way or get the big prize", it takes greater courage to Praise God when our dreams or things we pray for are shattered. When things go bad, God will turn it around and use it for good.

Colt, GOD DID JUST THAT with your testimony after the game !  The LORD has big plans for you ! Just watch the great I AM work in your life .

Sometimes it is difficult to bring out your faith in a setting where others can be very judgemental. However, because of Colt's faith in Christ, he got to be where he is, I believe; without Him, Colt's position would probably be very different. When I attended the Texas vs. Kansas game where he earned his NCAA record, I was amazed at seeing Colt's humility in the game, yet the pride of his faith. This is a perfect combination for a young college student, and even more, athlete. Cheers to Colt McCoy, and praise to Jesus Christ.

When I watched the game, at first, I questioned the injury. When I saw his post game interview about standing on the rock, I wanted to know more.  His words here have taught me an important lesson about trusting in God and accepting His plan in all things.  About how to be a good warrior and servant for God and to live our lives in the ways Jesus taught us to do and to know Jesus died for each and every one of us so that we might live again in eternal Paradise.  Such a gift is amazing and Colt McCoy set a good example of what is really important in this world and I salute his dignity and courage.  Your friend in Christ, Elijah Ronin Cory

Very refreshing. I think Colt would have found contentment if he had been 22nd or 222nd. I love his testimony and open heart. I hope that all who see these videos or meet Colt personally open their hearts to him and the God he serves and witnesses to.

I played football in the SEC a long time ago. My university had a great loosing tradition. I had lots of opportunities to speak for the Lord but some how screwed them up for the most part. I thank God there are young men of courage today that will stand up for Christ when the light shines on them. As for me I would give a lot to be able to go back and speak again for my LORD. I pray for opportunities to stand in the gap again. Colt, Timmy, all you athletes, there is life after sports but there is life in Christ during sports too.

God bless you and K-Love.
