My One Word

Every New Year we hope this will finally be the year that things will change. We make promises about the new person we're going to become, pledging to get a grip on our finances, get in shape, become a better parent, spouse, even a nicer human being! But there’s one problem: our resolutions seldom work. The busy pace of life gets the better of us, and suddenly, the year is over with little to no personal growth having occurred in our lives.

“My One Word” is an experiment designed to move you beyond the past and look ahead. The challenge is simple: lose the long list of changes you want to make this year and instead pick ONE WORD. This process provides clarity by taking all of your big plans for life change and narrowing them down into a single thing. One word focuses on your character and creates a vision for your future. So, we invite you to join us and pick one word in 2010.  Click here to learn how to pick your word.

The Women's Prayer Group that I belong to seeks God for a word for each year and it is very powerful. Last year, He gave me "refuge" and I can see hundreds of ways that He was a refuge to me and my family last year. This year God has given me "New Beginnings" and I am so excited about what He has in store for me- expectant! So, I would encourage you to seek God for your word! The steps of a rigtheous man or women are directed by the Lord.

I believe you are looking too hard or trying to think "outside the box."  The answer to the one word for all of us should be "Christ".  That truly encapsulates EVERYTHING we should strive toward.

I chose the word "submissive" because that is something that I have been struggling with for years now.  The word itself makes me uncomfortable, and the concept goes against my nature, but God is calling me to be both submissive to Him as well as my husband.

In our society, too many of us (including myself) get caught up with having control over everything.  The bible tells wives to be submissive to you husbands, and everyone should be submissive to God.  I want to more like what God is calling me to be.  This will be a struggle for me, but I believe that simply by trying to adhere to this, I will be a better wife, mother, and Christian.

My one word would be love. If we get a revelation of how much God unconditionally loves us and the grace He has extends to us, it changes us. That love compels (motivates) us to live love, to change more and more into His likeness, and ultimately glorify Him.

It may sound obviously simple but I choose the word "Christian".  I have often explained how I have been given multiple titles in my life; son, brother, husband, father, uncle, student, teacher, supervisor, leader, mentor, accountant, chairman, etc.  If find it comforting to know that if I simply live by example the descriptive term "Christian".  Thus my titles become; Christian son, Christian brother, Christian husband, Christian supervisor, etc.  Keeping this focus only makes me better at all the associated responsibilities.

My word is wait.  I guess that goes along with patience, but I want to learn to wait on God because that is the only way I can have peace as I am patient.

My fiance was sentenced to jail for something he did not do, and I know that God is going to work through this situation, but I am having a hard time look at the years of waiting we will have to go through, so by the end of this year I hope to be someone who waits on the Lord!

When Lisa mentioned to Eric not to pick his one  word quickly, my mind wondered why would Eric pick "quickly" as his word. *grin*

It got me thinking that my word should be slow. I need to spend time with God and be slow to leave; I need to drive slower; I need to be slow to end conversations so I can get on to my next task.

So my word for 2010 is SLOW as in be "slow to anger, abounding in love."

Thanks Lisa and Eric for getting me thinking about a new way of being in this new year.

This is something that a lot of scrapbookers do every year too.  This was my first year choosing one little word and I ended up with Mindful--having specified facts or feelings actively impressed on the mind.  Some of the things I want to be mindful of are my walk with God, how my actions impact others, and my fiscal responsibilities.  I feel like I have already grown by focusing on this one little word...

I suppose my word will have to be blessed.  No matter how bad things get, I know that God blesses me daily with my family, my job, my Christian friends, miracles I have witnessed this past year and KLOVE!  Finding your station by mistake has made my life so much better as I bow my head in prayer each morning as you pray.  Thanks to everyone there who is sincere in wanting people to know Jesus.  I have talked to people who have had one song change their lives forever--mine being "I Can Only Imagine".  It touches my heart each time I hear it, and we used it as the last song at my mom's memorial service four and a half years ago.  God bless you all in 2010.

My word would have to be 'worthy.'  I am unworthy in my own power, but God's gift of Jesus, His death and resurrection, and my acceptance of His forgiveness, make me worthy of His love.  While the self-talk of the past has kept me feeling unworthy, I am posting the word 'worthy' in various places to remind me that as His child, I am worthy of His love.

I actually chose my "one word" on my birthday this past October... as a challenge or goal for the next year to come. My word is CONSISTENT. This overlays every part of my life, relationship with Christ, consistent thought and devotion to Him. Consistent with my relationship with friends and boyfriend, as a young woman I think it is sometimes hard to keep a consistent personality! Consistency with my work as a teacher, for each student and every day. It is working so far, and it is something I can apply to every aspect of my life!

Dear Lisa And Eric,
I love the love dare. I have watched the movie over and over. I have also done the love dare 3 times with out my husband knowing. I was married for 6 yrs and today at 9am Texas time that chapter in my life was closed. My husband desided that he wanted someone else, but none the less I still to this day and forever will pray for him. This is a good lesson today. Even though we are not married anymore I pray for him that he finds what he is looking for and till he finds God again I fear it is not going to be his way for a good while... Thank you all for all you due!

My word isn't one that I picked for myself.  I believe that it is a word that God has chosen for me.  2009 was a year of major decisions and changes (and much chaos) in my life.  Through it all, I had faith that God was in control.  A new year has begun and and while searching for a 2010 calendar I came across one that had scripture, inspirational words and quotes about the word "peace" in it.  I sign most of my letters, cards and emails using the words "God's Peace", so I knew it what just what I was looking for.  Since then there have been many times that the word "peace" has popped in to my thoughts or have appeared in something that I happen to be reading... the gentle nudges are telling me to focus on "peace." Maybe they are a whisper from God, maybe a promise of something to come!

My one word: Lead

God has been using the one word to give me specific mission for me each year. Last year was "still". I didn't like it because I didn't understand it. I mean I didn't get the point of the word for me. I had other work picked but he over rid it. Now that it's a new year looking back, God has done wonders in my life and through my life with this word. It changed the way I look at everything now.

This year, It's "lead". I don't like it again because I'm scared of what this word could mean. I pleaded with God to change it but no luck yetSmile So  it will be "lead"

I believe that I'll make my one word "WISDOM."  Last year I prayed for God's wisdom in many situations, and I know it was only by His grace that I came out on the other side a wiser woman.  Searching for wisdom means you have to become humble because you have to acknowledge that you don't in fact know it all.  God's wisdom surpasses anything that we can fathom.  A good analogy is when we parent our children.  I tell my son "don't stand on the furniture" because he isn't wise enough to understand the danger--falling off.  Mommy knows best.  We have the same relationship with our Heavenly Father.  God knows best!  I will seek wisdom for 2010!

My Word. "Holiness" There are a couple of applications to my life. First of all I am Holy because of Christ's redemptive work in my life. Once I became a christian, I got saved, I became instantly Holy in God's eyes. Then there is the call to Holiness which is ongoing. As a believer I am made Holy through salvation but I can strive to live a life of Holiness by my testimony before the world. Filling my life with things that are Holy and purging things that are not.

We choose what we do, how we react, what we say, etc. We love to tell them to "choose to do the right thing" and watch them go off knowing they have to do what they know is right in their heart.

Hi Lisa and Eric! This was such a challenge for me when I heard you talking about this yesterday. One of my favorite verses is Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me- the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.
In October I lost my mom to brain cancer after a year long battle. She was my rock and raised me to be the woman, wife and mother of God that I am today. Through this unfair battle and many others that she endured throughout her time here on earth, she never stopped testifying to God's goodness. So the word that I have chosen is Testify. I want my life to be a testimony to the Lord. To testify to his goodness and grace and live  it out everyday in the way that I love my husband and 2 little babies and everyone around me. I want people to look at me and know who I belong too. Many blessings to you!

Jesus Christ has forgiven me of all my sins and made me new again. We should live our lives so that others can see the light we carry and to let others know that they to can be forgiven for their sins and carry the same light.

I just heard you talking today about the "one word" and it came to me almost immediately.
PLEASED. That word came, along with tears and a spirit of longing. A longing to please my Father, who created me; Christ, who died for me; and the Holy Spirit, who strengthens and leads me; At the end of the day, I want to know that what I have done PLEASED the Heavens. And at the end of my journey here on earth, my life and my works PLEASED my Father and He will say "Well done, my good and faithful servant".

When I heard about this yesterday, I never thought I could come up with a word. After thinking it over and looking over some words, it hit me; limitless. This year I am taking the limits off of God, off of myself, and everything deemed impossible. With this word I immediately thought of a scripture verse "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Phil 4:13
God isnt going to do what I myself can do (me being lazy), and I certainly can not do what God can do. So, this verse speaks to the limitations I put on myself, I can do all things throught CHRIST! I also thought about Phil 4:19 "God will supply all my needs according to His riches and glory through Christ Jesus." This speaks to the limitations that I put on God. He will supply everything I need to do His will. IT'S A PARTNERSHIP!! I have a limitless future with Christ! So, my word is Limitless..I think I will stick with it ;^)

And, I went from a having a great-paying corporate job where I had been working 60+ hours less than two years ago to changing professions to being hired just last week as a teacher paying 60% less than I was making in my last job but now I'm there for my kids whenever they need me with LESS stress and LESS hours at work. I have been listening to K-Love for a while now and this is my first time accepting your invitation to respond.

My one word would have to be "GRACE".  It is his GRACE that caused him to give his only son JESUS to save us. I have realized that it is God's GRACE that has carried me thru some very trying times.  My younger sister past away in October of last year and it is God's GRACE that keeps me strong and allows me to accept his will. It is his GRACE that allows me to change for the better and be his child. It is his GRACE that has brought my husband thru a battle with cancer, and now he is carring him thru a battle of liver failure. It is his GRACE that keeps my children safe everyday. It is his GRACE that provides for all my needs. I know he loves me and and will never leave me.

It is his GRACE that forgives us all.

And the children do love to hold on to their possessions. I chose the word "Surrender".  I want to surrender my heart and soul to God.  I have spend many years of my life trying to do it all...I think I finally get it.  At the beginning of the year, I started out praying each morning, "Lord, let me see things as You do, let me hear things as You do, etc..." and found myself going thru extreme highs and lows.  If finally hit me, God was letting me see things as He does.  Realizing now I can't handle what God handles (even a fraction), I now ask each morning, "Lord let me see things as You want me to; let me hear things as You want me to; let me speak things as You want me to; let me love people as You want me to; let me work on the things You want me to; let me walk the paths that You want me to.  Lord, I surrender my day to You."

“And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.”

Quit asking for relief and depend on God's provision through everything. Focus on serving Him and He will always be faithful.

My word is: Content

I want to be content in what God has for me...Nothing more nothing less being content in what God has for you is the best place to be. I have it on my cell phone so everytime I look at (which is a lot) I see that word and remember that it is in Christ that I am who I am.

When my 15-yr old daughter was killed in a car accident 5 years ago, God led me to 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 in The Message,  "We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love." Since then, my one word is HOPE. Life does not always treat us well, but we have an Unswerving Hope...that hope is that Jesus will walk with us through whatever unfairness life hands us.

The word I have chosen is SERVE . My girls went to a youth conference when they were in high school and one of the mottos they used was " WE EXIST TO SERVE". That has always stuck with me. In this world of selfishness-ME,ME,ME- we need to realize why we are here on this earth-to serve the LORD and our fellow man.

KLOVE has served me many many times.

My husband and I use this word to describe our love for ewach other.  When our paths crossed after 20 years we knew God had brought us back together.  We have had bad experiences and knew that this was MORE. We have more joy, more love, more abundance, more children(even though they are step), just MORE. We tried describing how we felt but the words were not there, so when I love you wasn't enough we came up with MORE. God has given us MORE than we deserve and we could ever repay.

The one word that popped into my head this morning as I was listenting to Lisa and Erik talk about their one word is: Joy.  Most of the time I appear to always be "down in the dumps" although the Lord delivered me from severe depression several years ago.  Unfortunately, I don't show the world that I was delivered.  My job is very stressful and I let the stress get to me and it shows on my face, my body language, temper, etc.  So, this year I'm going to concentrate on living a joyous life and showing the world that no matter what life brings, I have "Joy" in the Lord and He will see me through.

My word is NEVER. I, like many people, live my life with so much fear. It keeps me from doing things I long to do, being the person I long to be....and especially shining for Jesus the way I KNOW he wants me to shine for him. That little voice pops into my head saying "...no you can't", "you shouldn't say that", "what will they think", etc.. etc.. etc..
This morning as I was listening to KLOVE, I heard the song, "Nothing Compares" by Third Day. There is a line in the song that says, "No matter if I rise or fall, I'll never be alone..."
It occurred to me that I NEVER have to fear!!! Jesus said, "NEVER will I leave you nor forsake you!" Such a simple promise that I've heard so many times before finally hit me over the head today. He said NEVER.
He didn't say that he'd be around only if I could prove myself first, or if he felt like it, or if I was good enough.... He said NEVER.
So, my word for this year is NEVER. What a blessing to know that Jesus will NEVER leave me and because of that, I NEVER have to fear!
God Bless!

I am a 25 year old, this year I married my best friend and God has truely blessed us both, we are trying to begin our family and we are "facing" many new things on a daily basis.
Facing financial freedom, if I trust the Lord to continue to provide for us.
Facing long sleepless nights, if I continue to trust God to bring us a baby when it is time.
Facing a life time of happiness, if I continue to pray for my husband and myself.

My word for the year is GRATEFULNESS!  I'm just seeing God do so many wonderful things for us... I just feel gratefulness flowing from my heart.
I and my family moved across the country a year ago because I had to change jobs, and the transition was very hard financially. Because I was paying mortgages on three homes, and rent in our current location it was VERY tight. It was so bad, that we couldn't afford any extra things like even Christmas gifts that year 2008. My kids were so very good about it, but we felt so VERY bad, but there was no way we could afford it.  But this past year 2009, God allowed us to sell two of the three homes, we were able to pay off credit cards, purchase a new home here, and we had one of the best Christmas times we every had. So this year is a year for me to be grateful for EVERYTHING that happens in my life. God has not promised sunshine everyday, but a little rain helps me to appreciate the good times... which are much more than the bad! My favorite scripture is Romas 8:28 - And we KNOW that ALL things (good and bad) work together for GOOD to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose.  I'm GRATEFUL and GRATEFULNESS is flowing from my heart!

Oh,what I would do to have
the kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown
Where Jesus is,
And he's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name
and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
time and time again
"Boy, you'll never win,
you'll never win."

-But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth

I have been listening for the past week as people called in with their One Word for 2010.  It came to me yesterday what my word will be this year.

My one word is release.  The Lord has set me on path that requires the heart of Christ.  I have always hung onto the memories of my childhood and allowed them to keep others at arms length.  This month I turn 33 and I feel God's call to become more than just my past, but use it as a way to reach others.  So, in order to do that I must "release" all the pain, the hurt and fear and release control to God and allow him to transform me into the person He wants me to be.  It will not be ease but I long for that person, so I look forward to journay.

So, my word is "Release".

Lyrics in the song "Alive" by Pocket Full of Rocks goes like this....out of my sorrow, out of my night, You called me into Glorious Light where all of the lost, lonely and broken, find Your light, shine Your light. I heard, only in part, of the "one word" project/program/challenge and came on here to post EXAMPLE as my word. Lo and behold there was the scripture from Titus that I chose. The reason for my word being "example" is that first of all, that is what Jesus was to us on this earth and challenged us to do likewise. Secondly, I have had ups and downs like everyone else. From that, I saw our daughter at age 2 yrs. 4months of age cope with the devasting and ravaging disease of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Through that, I faced my own demons of chronic depression because I couldn't protect her, I couldn't really take her place, I felt guilty. I also gained weight, became hypothyroid, and a whole host of other "stuff". The hardest part of my life has been following dr's orders to "mother her(my daughter)but don't smother her". That meant, not picking her up on days she couldn't walk. There were no guarantees of where she might end up on her journey, although statistics were in her favor. Anyway, my daughter has been my heroine and example. It was time to take charge and take care of me. My story can be found at www.crystalreiber.com and not needed to repeat here. Now, because of my own journey holding fast to being an example to help others I live by the motto that "you deserve to be your best, for yourself, for those you love, and those who love you." The order of it is NOT selfish, but necessary for without the wholeness of self you won't enjoy the rest. Now, my passion is what God has led me to do to help others. I lead a fitness ministry at my church now into our 4th year. I help clients with disabilities like stroke recovery, MS, etc. I'm still learning and will until the day I physically die or that means I die before my time. I am now going through more issues from a car accident of 4 years ago, contracting vestibular neuronitis that has left permanent damage and challenged me to remain a trainer, and now my feet, ankles, hands, wrists, neck, jaw, and eyes are showing symptoms but I plan to use the journey to be an example of and for Him. God gave his ONLY son for me, why not dish me some tests to strengthen my faith, challenge me, and be the example He has called of me?

Thinking on this I really wasn't sure of the ONE word, but then ENDURANCE kept coming to mind. Most tend to think of endurance in the wrong tense -- long, never ending, struggling.  There is so much "going on" in my life right now, but with God's guidance I will be able to endure it all and in the end I know that I will be the strong person He created me to be.

I heard about this yesterday on the way to work and I had a couple of words in mind.  When I got to a computer, I went to the One Word page (myoneword.org) and went through the 3 steps suggested to find your word.

In Step 1 I visualized how I want to be and came up with kinder, focused, and dedicated. It was in Step 2, where you write down the attributes of the things you want to be, that God put "patient" in front of me. Then, when I read the suggested scripture, I got goosebumps and they just reinforced my word. Many of the other attributes I wrote down were also mentioned in the scripture. So, my official word for 2010 is PATIENT!

Being patient will help me be kinder to my children, my parents, my boyfriend, and my colleagues.  Being patient will help me remain focused on school, my home, and my relationships.  Patience will enable me to remain dedicated to God, to church, to my studies, and to my family. I will be patient =)

My one word is KNOW I have spent the last one year in what I call my Enoch season. God has separated me to himself and I have really spent a majority of my time reading His word and seeking him in prayer and fasting. I have gotten many revelations in and from Him, but the one word I would encourage people to concider is KNOW. We have to know that God loves us unconditionally and know that no matter where we've been or done that will never change. We have to know that no matter what we find ourselves going through for the moment that it is only a season and that his plan and purposes for our lives are not always something we will understand at that time. We have to know that through Jesus God gave us everything we need to accomplish what he asks of us and know that he will never leave us or let us endure anything that we are unable to handle. We have to know that it is not that we will never fall or stumble but know that he is faithful even when we sometimes are not. We have to know that we are promised persecution if we chosen to follow him and that if we speak the truth in this present world we most of the time will not be understood by the majority. We have to know that without faith we can not please him. We have to know that we are not able in and of ourselves to do anything but know that it is only through an ever increasing knowledge of Jesus sacrifice for us (including his birth, life of teaching, death, resurection, assention to the father, gift of the Holy Spirit) that we will be able to be what he has called us to be and do what he has called us to do. We have to know the difference between the truth of God's word and the suttle deception that is so prevalent in the world today. We have to know that to Love, be forgiven, and grow in truth we must first receive God's love for us. So please KNOW and grow and then we will be able to reach those people that God knows we can.

Your word challenge got me thinking how to sum up the work God has been doing inside me lately.  To start out, I am the QUEEN of GOOD INTENTIONS but I am an associate minister's wife with 4 children (one special needs) and am a full-time student currently pursuing a degree in Elementary and Special Education.  So, needless to say, my current position is a busy and distracted one.  My father and three friends have all passed away in the past nine months and my husband's father and uncle had just arrived in Haiti a couple of hours before the earthquake hit, but thankfully are now home safe.  All of this has added to the desires God has placed in my heart for missions to magnify my feelings of urgency in making an impact in people's lives.  God has made it clear to me that I need to STOP PLANNING to help others, and START DOING it.  So, I will proclaim joyfully that my word is...RESPONSIVE.

                    OTHERS IN NEED!
                    THE HURTS OF OTHERS!
                    GOD'S LEADING IN MY LIFE!
                    MY SPIRITUAL WALK!
THE PLANS GOD HAS FOR ME!
AND last, but NOT least
                    SHARE THE GOSPEL EVEN MORE!

I was listening to your station as I was driving to the hospital to have blood work done. I heard about the myoneword.org and other peoples words and it got me thinking. My one word for 2010 will be Ignited. I want my relationship with God and my husband to be ignited. I wanted to be ignited in my search for a home church and getting myself healthy, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. I thought of the word healthy but it didn't seem to cover everything with the passion I need to have.

We had the chaplain from MidAmerica Nazarene University address our Sunday School class a couple of weeks ago and they have an initiative with the word, "If."  It really moved me and has stayed with me ever since.

What IF
*we stepped out in faith rather than fearfully doing what we've always done
*we were obedient more often than not
*we took the time to really hear and see others
*we responded to needs around us quicker, more efficiently
*we really spent the time in His word, at His feet, hearing His voice?
How many lives could we change, effect, enhance?
My word for this year is "If."  And, of course, any use of the word "If" is followed by "Then"

This is my year to see the "If" and respond "then."

I have put some thought into my one word but could not decide then this morning as I was listening to k-love on my drive to work God gave me my word TRUST! why because all my life I have not been able to trust anyone but God. And I need to continue to learn to TRUST him because through that TRUST I see TRUTH about who I really am and what I am really worth no matter what I am told here on earth by others I know when I TRUST GOD his TRUTH shines brightly over the negative words and lies I may be told and here on earth or by the enemy. And that gives me peace beyond all understanding!!!!!!

One of the first words I thought of was "Christlike."  Which should be our ultimate goal.  So I made a list of Christ's characteristics: submissive, Holy, faithful, joyful, humble, content, dedicated, true, focused, etc.  But I chose the word "REFLECTION" was because I want others, including my husband, to see Christ when the look at me! My word is “pressing,”  from a verse the Lord has had me meditating on for several months now. When I first heard the challenge to find my word, I thought of “forgetting,” but that places the focus on the wrong thing. I don’t want to be guided by what lies behind me. I want to focus on pressing toward Christlikeness, which is how I interpret what the “goal” is in the verse.
Phil 3:13-14.Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (NASB)

unflappable:adj. Persistently calm, whether when facing difficulties or experiencing success; not easily upset or excited. hard to upset; imperturbable; calm; composed. able to remain calm in a crisis.

The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17

Let me begin by saying that I pray that the Lord does not ask me to endure any time soon, another year like 2009! It was nothing REALLY major, just VERY CONSTANT challenges from the beginning to the very end of the year. Since the first day of 2010,through K-Love and my personal devotions I have been encouraged that the Lord and I can make this a NEW YEAR and a NEW DAY every day.  I'm determined to make my marriage better by following your challenge of the Love Dare.  We "tried" it last February but unfortunately didn't make it past week 2. My devotions are from the book "The Power of a Praying Wife," and I've appreciated your "Make a Difference Monday" encouragement.  Having said all that, MY ONE WORD IS "M A D!" My one word: UNAFRAID

I remember someone posing the question, "What would you do today if you were not afraid?"

To me this word encompasses "peace", "freedom", selflessness"...all of the things that we could be, if only we weren't afraid. Afraid to try, to give, to change, to trust, to live. Doesn't it all go back to this one emotion. If we weren't afraid, just think of the amazing things that we could do in God's name.

The quote on my wall is from Nelson Mandela:
Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,
but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

1. I want to be a reflection of Gods love and goodness to the people I come in contact with.

2. I want to spend more time in reflection of all the things God has already done for me. The things he has brought me out of in my life. The promises he has made to me personally, the wonderful way that he speaks to me from his word...

3. I am believing God for a marriage relationship that is a reflection of his love for me. I know that there is no greater love than God's love for his children. Our earthly relationships are only a reflection of this. I want to receive that reflection as one of God's many blessings in my life and I want to be that reflection for the one God chooses.

Love..Since the begining of the new year the Lord gave me the word Love.  A woman at church gave me a book call Absolute Surrender. Here the Lord gave me revelations about His love for us. Love..."the fruit of the Spirit is love. May God help us to get hold of this simple, heavenly truth that the fruit of the Spirit is a love which appears in the life" (Andrew Murphy). All things that have life is the creation from His love. The Lord wants us to draw to Him with His love, so that He can teach us more love to be one with Him. Love is the key to ending chaos and defeating evil. Love should be the fruit of our spirit. Love is the key to enteral peace.

Stretching is physically difficult for me. I am tight, unable to bend. I want to physically improve, but also stretch in all areas of my life. I want to stretch myself in being a wife, a mother, a friend, a servant, a lover of God. It is too easy to stop taking risks and stay comfortable. My one word for the year is change. I always told myself that I would change, to become a new person, to stop my bad habits but fail to do so. I tell myself, I need to change, but repeat the same behaviors. I think of what I do and worry of my salvation. But then I think of God... what he did for me. He sent his only son to die for me, to take my punishments that way I may live forever in his kingdom, in heaven. I think of god, that he never changes, he loves me and no matter what I do, he will forgive because Jesus died for me, and if I ask for forgiveness, he will forgive me, no matter how many time I've fallen short with god in my wrong doings. I am so glad, Jesus is in my life and that I have a god who loves my that he sent his only son to die on the cross for my sins.

This is something that I see us forgetting too often, and everytime something is bad I turn and say, how can we be thankful in the situation?

My girls and I are loving the challenge.

We are Thankful for Klove to help us remember what is truly important in life!

My word for 2010 is ACCEPTANCE. All of my life I have struggled to simply accept myself and things in my life, accept people in my life as they are. Because I have been so unhappy with myself, I have spent so many days trying to change everyone around me when what I really needed to do is change and accept myself for the beautiful person I am. This year I have a promise to myself and God to see myself the way he sees me and to love myself the way he loves me. I am going to accept myself, accept others for the who they are and not try to change them, accept my life for what it is and be happy with all that I have. Also, I want to help encourage others to accept Jesus Christ.

That's my word for 2010.  My ultimate goal is to be more like Jesus.  While He was on earth, humility is the word that describes everything He did.  Love was his goal, but he even loved out of a place of humility.  He ultimately would sit on the throne, but took the road of humility.

To be a better wife, mother, friend and person - the person God wants me to be - I need to be more humble.

Scripture is clear that humility is the path to wisdom, wisdom shows you where/how to be obedient in your life and obedience is the path to blessing.  I believe it all starts with humility.  I don't even believe you can truly "love" as Christ did until you step outside yourself into humility.

My one word this year is FOCUSED!

I can get so caught up on all the little things that I have to do that I lose focus on the things that are truely important. I can get so overwhelmed that at times I just "check out", go on auto-pilot, and forget what's really important---Loving God, loving those around me, and serving HIM in all I do. If I focus on HIM and HIS plans for me, I can see myself less stressed, less burdened, and full of more joy by the end of 2010.

I know that you are struggling with your one word and I couldn't help but to think of the word VITALITY based on the things that you want to do this year. The verse that you could use with this could be the one where Jesus says "I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly".  If you breathe vitality into your marriage, family, etc. your life will be filled with the vitality that only Christ can give.

My one word is inspired by the loss that my husband and I have endured this past year. In February of last year we lost our first child during the seventh month of my pregnancy and it was truely a hard time for us. I feel as if I have been living only to become pregnant again(without success I might add) I have somewhat forgotten why I live this life. God gave me life to live for him and it took me a while to figure that out again. If I don't learn the lesson that god is trying to show me from this experience then Gabriel(our son) gave his life in vain. God will bless us again when the time is right and not before. My one word for this year is--LIVE. To live my life for God and to the fullest.

My one word for this year is "LOVE"  Over 2000 years ago a young man spoke these words "Greater Love has no man than this, that he lay his life down for his friends" and he then died on Calvary for me. I don't know if one word can encompass what I want for this year.  Its not the long list of changes in all the usual.  I do want a better handle on finances, I do want to lose weight, I do want.....  But above all these I want to be the man that God wants me to be and do the things that God wants me to do.  I have started this by going back to school to finish my degree so I can go on to seminary.  I surrendered to full time ministry last summer, I have since been licensed by the church I attend to preach (which I do every chance  I get.).  So now the next step is finish my degree in Psychology (carrying 12 hours while working full time 60 hours a week).  This puts an enormous strain on my family, especially my wife who was reluctantly supportive in the beginning but has grown more and more supportive as she sees God truly working this miracle out in our lives.  So I guess the word for me is the one I try to get through to my kids (we have 4, 3 that  are special needs {autistic}).  That word is "Obedience".  Because being obedient to what God wants should be so simple but it is so hard for us to do.  I'm not talking about the ambiguous times when its two life decisions that are equally "right" but the times when we know what the right thing is but we hesitate for fear of being thought of as one of "those" Jesus people.  So this year my goal is to be obedient in all that God wants me to do.  Will I fail? Absolutely.  Will God still love me? Absolutely!

My ONE WORD for this year is BreakThrough!!  I chose this word because it describes what is going to happen.  I have struggled with my walk for so long in the area of surrendering.  My Church does a 21-day fast at the first of every year and God told me to do a complete 21-day fast!  I weighed at the time 355lbs so in my mind this was crazy, I Love food!  What is more amazing was the confirmation that I got from my wife.  God told her the same thing and she told God that she would do what I do thinking that there was no way that I would do a complete 21-day fast.  Ohhh how God works his wonders.  What God has done and started during the fast is truly a breakthrough with me and it has spread through my family and our relationships.  My wife and kids are happier as I am FINALLY submitting to God's will and plan for my life.  I know that this year we will have some major breakthroughs in all areas and I am so excited to renew and refresh on his goodness daily. Jesus NEVER gives up on us I am a walking testimony to that. God is Good, All the time!! I now weigh 335lbs to start me on a path to be in better shape.

I had a difficult time with this. I have made new year's resolutions in the past just to fail year after year. This year has started no different. Balance came to mind, then consistency but as I prayed, Merciful kept coming to mind. These scriptures started coming to me. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Matt. 5:7 Be merciful just as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:36 Showing mercy with cheerfulness. Romans 12:8 How great is God's mercy towards us and then Jesus' examples of being merciful. I want to show the same mercy that He has showed towards me and give it to others. So my word is MERCIFUL. Thank you for your words of encouragement and for this my one word. My word is ROYALTY. It is time for me to claim that I am an heir, a daughter of the King of Kings! As in the days of old, when each generation was to build (or continue to build) the kingdom of their forefathers, my job as his daughter is to grow His Kingdom. When I first heard you guys talking about this, I sifted through dozens of other words, none of which was "ROYALTY"--but God put this before me, and I can already tell a difference in my attitude, and feel more of a responsibility to do all I can to bring others to My Father!

Eons ago, my high school band director used to say: "The Queen of England wouldn't complain!" And it's true. She is to always show graciousness and kindness. God expects no less of us. I am proud to be a Princess of the Most High King!!

Not quite sure if this is the right place to send you two (Lisa & Eric) a message, but I wanted to just thank K-LOVE for finally hitting Central Indiana! I was never able to listen to it in the car, and now I can tune in everyday. I know there has been a "one word campaign" sweeping the nation recently, and I just wanted to share my word for 2010. It's "Go". In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells his disciples to "go" and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As Christians, it's our duty to "go" and share Christ's love with the world. I have been desiring to go on a mission trip for a couple years now, and this year will be the year I finally answer that call. I haven't one set up, but I am praying for Him to open doors and break down the walls so that I may shout His Holy name across this planet!

Hey guys,

Love listening to you in the morning and have my one word.  To make an extremely long story short, my pregnant daughter and her husband have moved here fom New England and have been living with me since November. Neither of them working and having somewhat of a difficult time. They are not saved so there have been many obsticals and issues but God really put it on my heart to "BE A LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE LOST SHIPS AT SEA".  I would never have said or even thought of anything like that on my own so I believe it is a call from my Lord and Saviour to just love them and show them the way - So my one word is LIGHT!

My one word is:

If I can show God's love to people who have never seen love, than it can bring them to Him, because His love consumes us. It engulfs us like a blanket when all we've known is hurt and sorrow. It gives us hope. It never fails. It can lift us when we've been torn down and push us through the valley when we feel like giving up. It can search the pieces of your heart when its broken and tie them back together again without even leaving a scar. His love makes us whole. It did me and I thank God for that. If I can remember to love, if I can daily show those around me His love, then I know He can use me.

2 Corinthians 5:
14For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

I want to always feel compelled by Christ's love to no longer live for myself, but for him who died for me and was raised again.

I thought about this for a few days and the word came to me in the middle of a prayer.  My word is "LIVE".  I want to live for Jesus, I want to fill my heart and mind with his word that when people see me they know I LIVE for Him!  This is also two fold because with this same word, I want to be healthy, quit over eating, etc- so that I may LIVE a longer, healthier life.  I feel Jesus put this on my heart.  I am very thankful for K-Love and for all that this station means to me.  I work in a prison setting and this is what gets me through the day some days.  It is such a source of encouragement, and witness for those who come into my office.  Thanks K-Love!

My one word is Discipline.  It is the main thing I lack in my life.  Paul says to take every thought captive, and to make your body your slave.  For so long I've let my tongue escape me, I thought as long as I was being honest I could say whatever I want.  I hurt so many people with my tongue, lost many friends.  This year I want to learn discipline for my thoughts and words, to know that to speak in love is better then speaking just the truth.  Also I am disciplining my body.  I smoked, ate too much, never exercised, and as a result I am overweight and depressed.  I can't play with my kids, or find joy with my husband.  I quit smoking New Years Eve, and I work out at least 5 times a week now.  I know with God's strength I can do this.  And I know with Jesus example I can live a life of love and discipline.

My word is "unconditional".  This refers to the unconditional love and faith the Lord has in you and me.  It also reminds me to have unconditional love and faith in my friends, family, and people around me.  So often we judge others for being different, or thinking differently, or worshipping differently than we do.  We need to remember that God's love for us is unconditional and our love for others should be unconditional as well.

Wow, there are some amazing words here!  When I heard you all talking about the one word the other day, immediately God reminded me what He has been speaking into my spirit for a few months now.  I have been praying for help in my finances, health, parenting, housekeeping, etc... and God has been speaking the word "DISCIPLINE"  if I can be disciplined in every part of my life, that will take care of my stress!!  So, thank you for sharing, God had already put the word in my heart, but now I am going to be held accountable and challenged daily, PRAISE GOD for that, I am excited to see what God has for me this year!!

this year i have been thinking about love alot...do i love myself, do i love others, and how much does God love us? God has been showing me all of this the past month everything that surrounds me is just one of the many ways God has been showing his love. Things i would normally overlook he is making me stare at. I can sit in praise and worship at church or just listen to songs on klove and begin to cry, its as if God is saying the words to me just as i need to hear them. My life has been hard up to this point and at only 20 i have many years to come. Today God spoke the most beautiful message to me and i 'd like to share it with ya'll.
Okay so today was the 6th time i have gave blood and i realized something...in 2008 when i decided to give blood it was to help myself. I wanted to "heal" myself from trypanophobia (fear of needles) and giving blood was they way i was going to do it. After the first time of me giving blood i'm not cured but i am in love with giving blood. It's not about me its about the people who need it. I feel like i'm doing something i'm saving people who need to be saved. I get faint everytime i give blood just at the thought the thought of the needle or atleast i normally do. This year is all about LOVE for me so as i sat in that chair and they were about to pierce my arm the only thing going through my head was Jesus! He gave his blood for all of us and he went through more pain than any needle could ever give and as i saw the blood trailing through the tubes i though to myself this is what it's all about. Loving and giving your blood to someone you don't even know. As i sat there in
the truck their radio was on but all i could hear was "how he love's us" by david crowder band. It was an amazing thing today...even in the fact that when they pulled out the needle i wasn't faint i felt amazing i NEVER feel like that. Thank you God!!!
The ways God shows his love isn't always how we think he will but it's always when we need it and how we need to hear it. I plan on continuing the year of Love and hope everyone is getting as much out of it as i am.

My word for this year would have to be Strength. I have been diagnosed with IgG Subclass 1 deficiency and Crohns disease. The first one means I catch respiratory infections easily. With in the last 6 months I have probably spent a month and half on bed rest for multiple things. I had h1n1 but was not bad but it infected my windpipe - that was bad. I do not have faith in my body.I use to be an athlete, played softball for 14 years and now my body is attacking it self and can no longer fight off sickness. Just two days ago I was told I was losing my hearing and my balance requires further testing.

So my word is strength. To trust in God to be Strength when my body is weak. To not give into the wordly limitations of my body but persevere through the strength of my spirit. And not just in my sickness. In my school work, in my faith, in my wedding plans, and through the first year of my marriage and the years to follow. So this year I am focusing on strength

Not that this is a site for life stories, I figure I need to get this off my chest and hopefully feel some relief!  So here goes.  From the year 2008 up until the present I have done several things.  I have gotten married, I have gambled away a savings account for emergency's, I have begged friends to bail me out of situations that I should have never been in, and then used them to get more.  I haven't gone 2 days without telling a lie to someone.  I have neglected my son who just turned 2.  I have lost more friends then I have gained, I haven't praid to god once, unless I was begging him to get me out of a jam or situation.  "Just this one time" I would say to him, then curse him when it didnt happen.  I am ashamed of who I am and who I was becoming...until one day I scrolled across your station when driving home one day.  I listened to your program and some how...it got to me.  It crawled up inside of me and almost in an instance, made me want to be a better person.  I walked into my now empty home, because my wife and son have recently left because of my behavior, and I looked into the mirror.  I realized that I have to ability to change, right here, right now.  I also realized that I do have dreams, and ambitions, and if I accept Christ into my life, that all things are possible.  This sunday I am going to Church for the first time in I dont know how long. With these things being said, I want to let you know that my word is "COURAGE".  Courage to accept Christ, Courage to not gamble, Courage to repair things with my wife, and the courage to go through everyday with my head held high and to finally be proud of myself.

I want to thank you for unknowingly being on the radio that morning.  I dont know you and you dont know me but, you need to know that at the very moment you came onto the radio, I was considering suicide! BEcause of your music, and inspirational words, and love, you saved my life, and for that I am forever grateful!  I recently praied to God and asked him to use me, where ever he needed me, show me the reason for my being on this earth!  I believe in do time, I will see that path!

May God Bless you forever,
Jon B

i choose the word "motion".

i choose this word for several reasons. first, the matthew west song called "the motions" that talks about not just going through the motions of the Christian life has been very powerful for me in this new year. it reminds me of how i need to live every day.

i also choose this word because 2009 was a very hard year for my husband and me. i had three miscarriages in nine months. we don't have any children yet. it was pain beyond what i have ever experienced. in 2010 the word "motion" helps me to remember that time does not stand still. motion means that we are moving closer to the time when we can try to start a family again...it means that we are that much closer to being parents.

in 2010 i will be a person who is not just going through the motions of life, but a person who lives the Christian life as best i can with God's help. and in 2010 i will be a person who clings to hope in the fact that time is in motion and i am closer to my dream of being a parent.

RESToration is my one word for the year.
When you brake the word down you start with Rest. Oration means 'the Word'. When you put them together - REST IN THE WORD! That is where we will find Rest this year, is in the Word. I believe the Lord is doing a lot of restoring in the church and in our personal lives this year. I took a Healing for Women class last year and finished it in December. In the last two weeks of our class we burned our journals and were annointed with holy oil by an elder of the church and received a word. I recorded mine and it was amazing! The Holy Spirit told me that there isn't anything that the Lord took away from me that he's not going to restore and when God restores he restores in multiplication. He is going to restore every area of my life in multiplication. I'm holding on to that word and focusing on an amazing year of RESTORATION in every area of my life and others around me! God is SO good!!

My word is CREATE.  First, because it all boils down to being who God created me to be.  So, I will spend time in his word and prayer learning about who God is and who He has created me to be.  Also, I want to create meaningful relationships, with God and others.  I can't just sit back and let others do it, or assume it will just happen - I have a role in creating those relationships.  Also, I want to create positive environments in which my kids can live, grow, and learn.  Finally, some of my passtimes involve creativity, so I want to take some time to create things that have special meaning to me this year.

I finally found my perfect One Word for this year. I had so many to choose from in this unsettled period of my life -- peace, healing, forgiveness, seeking, pursuit, hope, sustain.  But God gave me my word this week.  The word "Face" will help me focus my time and energy and filter my decisions this year.

1. To confront with complete awareness.
2. To overcome by confronting boldly or bravely.

I recently uncovered 5 years worth of lies and betrayal by my husband and have spent the past few months in shock and unbelievable emotional pain and turmoil. I wondered how I could have overlooked so many red flags, how I could not question or push for answers when something didn't seem right.  Why I didn't trust my own instincts rather than hide behind the excuse of being a good Christian wife -- supportive and forgiving. I've never liked confrontation -- maybe I didn't look under the rocks or persist in digging for evidence because it was more comfortable not knowing.  Well, now I know.  I may only know just a fraction of what there is to know, but it's enough to tear a marriage apart and enough to completely turn my world upside down.

Now that I know, I must face the reality of what was really going on these past few years, face the reality that I was duped, face my grief, face my pain in order to do the hard work of healing, face all that is involved in going through a divorce, face that trust remains an issue, face my finances, face an uncertain future.  I may have avoided wanting to know the truth because of the possibility of pain. But, I'm living in the pain anyway so I need to face the truth and face it sooner, even if I'm afraid or uncomfortable.  I want this year to be the opposite of avoidance. I want to face my problems and not cower or run from them.  I want to face my insecurities, instincts and gut feelings in order to find out if there really is a problem lurking behind the uncertainty.

There are a couple of other reasons that affirm for me that "Face" is my  perfect One Word this year:

1. At my darkest moment, KLOVE played "What Faith Will Do" by Kutless.  That song has lifted me up from the ashes several times when I've heard it. There's a line in the song that says "You gotta face the clouds to find the silver lining."

2. A favorite verse from the bible (Numbers 6:24-26 ) mentions God's face --
The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.

This year “Face” will be my word filter. This year, I will face the clouds and find my silver lining.

I feel like I am always doing something; always giving up, always eating too much, always forgetting God's love for me etc... so this year my one word is NEVER!! NEVER forget that I am loved, NEVER give up on myself, NEVER believe Satan's lies, NEVER stop clinging to God's word.... My one word is NEVER!!!!

My word is Intentional.

I want to give God my all in whatever I do.  I pray to focus on the activity I'm doing in the moment instead of letting my mind wander, plan or worry.  I will be intentional and present in my morning prayer and Bible study.  At work I will focus on my job and do it to the best of my ability.  For the 30 minutes I've committed to exercise, I will give it all.  I will be intentional with the time I have with loved ones and my soon to be husband.  This year I will be intentional with each day God has given me!!!

In Christ, I am intentional!

Last year you gave us the same challenge. It took about a week, but God laid on my heart the word still. A few days later a friend was going through a crisis and I said does the word still mean anything to you. She said yes, with tears in... her eyes... right now I need to spend time in "stillness" with my God to get the answers I need. The word brought the two of us together as friends, tought me to be still and listen to Gods voice to be able to hear how He wanted me working in the lives of others. Through this year I have dedicated my bible time to being still and now have an enriched prayer time with my God. The very first verse that was placed on my heart was Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you;you need only be still. So when this friend was in need I felt this driving impression to be still. That is a little difficult to do on a weeknight in a house with a family of five. So I made the excuse I needed something from the shed outside. So there I am between the christmas boxes and the smelly gasoline filled weedwacker, on my knees praying and just being still. Verses were placed on my heart as well as some actions my friend needed to do. I did tell her the last verse God gave me was having to do with her seeking out for herself what was right and to seek Gods advice not mans. The things I was to tell her ended up being blessings. From leading bible studies to blessing her staff to spending her own still time with God. The next truth God gave me,( through my still time) was Isaiah 10:15...Which was we can only be a useful to God if He is the driving power behind us...I certainly experienced Gods driving power, and all I had to do was be STILL...So be still and pray that God gives you the word you need to help you walk closer to your God!  I am going to continue my journey with "Still"

I want to learn how to be this in my relationship with God, and as I started to look up verses in the Bible I found out that God already gives that to me!!  How awesome is he!!

I am taking the ONE WORD project a step further this year. Instead of just praying and focusing on one word for myself, I am also going to pray one word over my husband and 2 young sons this year.

My ONE WORD for 2011 is Rise.
I want to rise to every ocassion God sets in front of me. I want to rise above my expectations for my life - to be at God's expectations. To better myself and my life - accept NO limits.

The word I am praying over my husband this year is EMBRACE. I am praying that he will embrace who he is- who he has become. I am praying that he will embrace God...embrace faith...recieve it and bloom in 2011!

The word I am praying over my sons is SHINE. I want them to shine with all the glorious faith and light our God has placed within them. To be so bright that not one can ignore the love of Christ seen within them. Smile

Good morning and God bless to all!!  I am so excited to hear about this one word commitment and suprisingly, unbeknownst to me, God had already planted my word in my heart a few weeks back in my desire to grow closer to him.  Then today I ear that this is a nationwide thing.  My word this year is PATIENCE.  Though I thought some other good words for myself would be servitude and surrender, I believe God has shown me that to show him in my daily walk to those around me and to learn to freely surrender all, that I must learn to walk with patience in all things.  I am so excited for this journey and sincerely hope you are all blessed in yours as well for the glory of God!

I finally piced my one word for the year. My one word is CONTENTMENT=an uncomplaining acceptance of your circumstances, realizing God will provide everything you need to adjust to such circumstances. I have been struggling since May of 2010 of finding a steady job with an income. I would get temp jobs that would only last a little period of time. I have two jobs now but they don't give me any hours to survive, and I continue to job hunt. I was putting finding a one word until this morning listening to you on the radio. I have a Precious Moment Bible and in the back I found the word "Contentment" with the meaning. I felt a great powering pull to the word and calmness when I decided that was my one word cause of my struggle I have been going through. I have been listening to your station only for about 3 weeks and it is changing my life. Thank you and praise God for coming into my life.

My one word is actually two.. it is "worth it". This is something I have simply struggled to believe, that I am worth it. And it is something that God has been whispering over me, to me, and through me. So this year as I stare in the mirror at ever scar, every wrinkle, and at this beautiful mess that stands before me I am proclaiming that Yes I am "worth it."

My One Word is "Establish".  2010 was a year of emerging from a long and difficult season in my life. God began a wonderful healing and restoring work. I chose "Establish" because I want to make those "new beginnings" firm and also feel a need to "Establish" myself again in His Word after coming through the hard times.  I chose this word in December, and it has already changed my life in the first 28 days of the new year.  Thank you for sharing the One Word idea!

My word this year is SILENCE...in this busy life, i know i have failed to listen to HIM sometimes. So many things kept circling in my mind- worries, work, finances, etc..but failed to think about HIM sometimes, failed to Listen to his voice. This year I sure do need to SILENCE my mind and heart to hear HIM well and be able to follow his will.

My one word is confidence.  After looking it up, it became clear this was my word.  The first definition is to full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing.  It may seem obvious, but at times I get to wrapped up in the worry and need to realize to hand it over to God.  The second definition is belief in oneself and one's powers or abilities. I struggle in that area.  I need to have more confidence in my abilities and talents that God has given to me. Thanks for sharing the My One Word idea!

My Word: iChoose!  I came up with this after a long time of reflection. I wanted a word that inspires, motivates, and reverberates  my goals, ideals and strength in times of weakness, hardship or just daily choices.   I wanted a word that I could share with my patients as a future Nurse Practitioner.   God, Sharing, Life, Happiness, Love, what foods we eat, anger, frustrations, inspiring others, to exercise, to pray, to look up, to smile, to offer grace......all daily activity is as simple as a: Choice...therefore, I slow down enough to repeat the word: ichoose!  I even went and had a bracelet engraved with the word to wear daily as a reminder.

Simple:.Having or composed of only one thing, element, or part.

God has been telling me for years to simplify:
To live simple to clear out the clutter of my mind, my body, my home, my life.
To live and love simply.
...To simply both give and ask for forgivness.
To simply be a light to others even thru the storms of life.
To simply live one day at a time because there is no promise of tomorrow. I suffer from fibro so simple is better.
We were created by one Composer..God himself and he simply just loves us thru all our flaws and imperfections.
So SIMPLE is my word
