Love Language - Acts of Service

I love, love, love Gary's books.  (Check out the books for children and for Teens.)  I first read The Five Love Languages after my separation--I wish I knew these things before the divorce. The challenge is showing your partner love in HIS/HER language, when it's not YOUR language.  Words of Affirmation and Quality Time run neck & neck as numbers 1 & 2 for me.  
I just want to comment about Acts of Service.  I struggled with it while I was reading/learning. (I still do, I think.) The things listed that you can do to show your partner love, I keep saying, "But these are the normal things of life. These things would have to get done whether he or I did them." And now that we're living apart, we are BOTH doing them.
Looking back, I believe my not understanding how vacuuming the living room shows my husband that I love him contributed to our problems.

I just started listening to KLOVE not to long ago and I love it! I was intrigued by the 5 love language quiz. I have always known what my husbands love language is, but I had my children (14,12,11 yrs.) take the test and let me tell you, I have learned a ton about my children. My child that I was really having a hard time getting through too, I figured out is most like me and I was getting his love language wrong all these years. I will be changing my approach to him and hopefully this will make our relationship better, Thank you for having these eye and heart opening shows. My children and I now listen every morning while taking my kids to school and on my way to work. God Bless you.

I learned about the 5 Love Languages years ago and it has really made an impact on my life.  The one thing I disagree with is the statement that everyone has a primary language.

In my case, I'm pretty even across the board.  I believe in balance.  My love language of the moment happens to be whatever I haven't received lately.  I don't think that I'm the only person like this.  I guess I just want it all.    

The trick is giving it all in return.  Marriage can be a lot of work, but the payoff is amazing!

i am not married but i am young and very mature my age. im a devoted christian. i took this test thinking i knew the outcome & i was correct. but i value all 5 lanuages in a relationship. i think this test was really great and love listening to klove every morning on my way to school.
