God is the Captain of his Ship - Gavin MacLeod

For decades he was a mainstay on two of TV's most popular programs - the Mary Tyler Moore Show and then has as Captain Stubing on The Love Boat.  These days, Gavin MacLeod says his most important role is being an "ambassador for Christ".  He's recently starred in a faith-based film, now on DVD, called The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry.  Gavin joins us this morning to talk about how God transformed his life and reconciled his marriage.

I also remember Mr. Macleod in McHales Navy - how old does that make me :>).

Saw the movie Johathan Speery and absolutely loved it. Glad to hear it is on DVD so I can add it to my collection. I have also seen Time Changers which was also wonderful.

What a nice surprise to wake up to hear the chat with Gain MacLeod.  I just requested Jonathan Sperry movie from the library - I'm always looking for good movie suggestions.

There was an actor on the first Jim Carrey movie - "Ace Ventura - Pet Detective" - who is the doorman to a party that Ace is investigating a possible dolphin theft at.  Ace says to the doorman "permission to come aboard, Captain Stubing." The actor does look like him, too.  Looking through the film credits, I cannot find any credit listing for that actor. Was that a cameo in that film for Gavin MacLeod?

I loved The Love Boat! It was one of my favorite shows growing up!!!

The interview this morning was so touching and wonderful.  His story of his reunion with his wife and giving his life to Jesus brought tears to my eyes and is doing so again as I type.

So glad to hear such wonderful things in regard to a man that brought me much joy growing up!

I remember the captain of the LOVE BOAT show and the show in general. I wanted to listen to Gavin McLoad when he was on the air. But I listen to him on the air and enjoyed his testamony. I am greatful that he found Jesus. What a great LORD we have.
