Eric is 40 today!

congratulations on making it to 40.  i reached that milestone last thursday and it was just another day.  i truly believe God puts these milestones in our path so we look to those who have gone before and help prepare those who are coming after.  40 is another year to praise God for the many ways he has provided and the things he is going to continue to do.

My son Danny is 10 years old today and he wanted to say hi.  He was so excited when he heard Eric's birthday was today also, and the fact that he could phone in and win a CD was awesome!
He's in school now, but we'll try after school and maybe he'll get through.

Happy Birthday Eric! You should be proud of the fact that you don't look 40. I am 43 and a lot of people have a hard time believing that I am a mother of 3 and the oldest being 20. Wear you age proudly, God made you beautiful.

Happy Birthday Eric!  I passed 40 a long time ago and what I discovered is that the first 39 years are just used as learning years.  From now on, you know what you did wrong and how to not make those same mistakes again and what you did right....so you can carry on with those!

I listen to you and Lisa every morning when the kids are getting ready for school. Happy Birthday to you. Lordy, Lordy look Eric is 40. I passed that mark 10 years ago this past Aug. It is just a number to others but to me it is a blessing of the life I have been given each birthday. So I wear the age of 50 very proudly and it doesn't bother me to say it or to let people know it. With the age also comes wisdom, knowledge and experiences. So blessings to you today on your special day. We love you all...

  I gained 30 lbs the first year after my 40th birthday.  I went to the Dr in Feb. after I turned 40 in Jan. and he told me that if you don't change your eating habits or your exercise habits you will gain on average 30 lbs after you turn 40 and 15 more after you turn 50. Well, I gained 20 more lbs the year after I turned 50.
  So just a warning to the wise, start your diet and go to the gym regularly! Happy Birthday, Eric!

Hi Eric!  I was excited to find out that such awesome people share the same birthday....you and me! LOL  I am *sshhh* (whispered) 5 years older then you. Also mom to 9 wonderful children and 10th Avenue North is our favorite artist right now.  I LOVE the messages behind their music.  I posted the podcast of your interview with them on my Facebook, hoping it would minister to others as much as it did to me.  It was just in time to help a friend through a rough patch. Hey Eric.  I have decided the best way to handle turning 40 is to leave the country and go on a mission trip.  I will turn 40 a week from Thursday.  I have not been able to think about turning 40, because I have been getting ready to leave for Cubs, which is tomorrow, for a mission trip.  I will turn 40 while in Cuba.  So Eric, I know it is to late to leave the country now, but start planning for when you turn 50.

When I turned 40 I was telling everyone I was the new 30, until my son looked up at me and said "Mom, I think 40 is God's favorite number... aren't you 40?" Well needless to say I was 40 from then on.

Happy Birthday Eric -- When my oldest daughter turned 30, she and her children were visiting us in Ohio from Florida.  I baked her a cake and put a #3 and a #0 on the cake.  When her oldest son, Jackson who was 5, looked at the cake, he said to his mom..."You're 2 numbers!!!"

Barbara on any birthday.  I just turned 54 on October 30.  I love it.  I enjoy being whatever age and finding what the new year will bring.  I have always enjoyed my birthdate.

What I do not enjoy is those who continue to remark on being older and expecting me to give up the activities I love.  I love to walk and exercise.  The people I was around kept trying to tell me, I was too old for this.  Since when?  I don't find it in the Word.  Abraham and Sarah walked all over the land promised them.  Moses walked all over for forty years.  Tell me where age is a sign of slowing down?  I had a pastor once who said, "we don't retire, we refire for the Lord."  I meet a lot of people to encourage or tell about the Lord while I am walking.

I turned 40 a year ago, and got a surprise motorcycle from my husband. That sure helped not feeling 40
But in the end we're just as old as we feel. In that sense - happy 21
