Wow! With God, Nothing is Impossible

Luke 1:26-38 (New Living Translation)

The Birth of Jesus Foretold
26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, 27 to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. 28 Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you![a]

29 Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. 30 “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. 33 And he will reign over Israel[b] forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

34 Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.”

35 The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. 36 What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she’s now in her sixth month. 37 For nothing is impossible with God.”

38 Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.

What a great reminder for all of us facing a challenge in our life today  - "... nothing is impossible with God."  Maybe you have seen that truth played out in your life ... a "Wow, God - nothing is impossible with God" story.  Tell us!

there have been many "wow God" stories in my life - some profound and life changing, some mundane and not so extraordinary, but the one thing i always have to remind myself of is that with God, nothing is impossible. although we tend to pray for things that we think never come to fruition, there are other ways in which He answers our impossible prayers. we don't know what's best for us and we sometimes believe that He didn't heal that marriage that was prayed over or rid that person of illness that was prayed for because we didn't pray "right". we just have to remember that the things we pray for may not be in his plan for us-it's not that we didn't pray "right" 'cause there's no "right" way to pray, but that with God all things are possible (that are in His will, not our wishes). God Bless!

Two days ago I started dinner in my kitchen. Had a wok with some Olive oil heating up on high temp for my pork chops. I walked away for less than 5 minutes to attend to my two boys who were playing in the hallway. When I returned to the kitchen, there was a 2 feet high fire burning in the wok. It reached the top of the hood of my stove. I poured salt on it only to make it worse. Grabbed my phone and my children and went outside barefoot in 40 degree weather to wait for the fire dept. When they came in 4 minutes later...they said there was no fire in the house. A house filled with smoke, a burned wok and a melted measuring cup. BUT NO FIRE? I KNOW WHAT I SAW!The hood of my stove was blackened by smoke but NO DAMAGE. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? The firemen had no answer. But I did. GOD PUT OUT THE FIRE BEFORE THEY CAME. I just HAD TO SHARE THIS. God is so real and so able to step in, at ANY moment. He knows his beloved, God is ALWAYS ON TIME!

I have a Wow-God moment that I would like to share.

After about a year and a half of trying to get pregnant, my husband
and I had become very frustrated with not being able to have a child.
It seemed that everyone around us was getting pregnant and having
babies, but it just wasn't happening for us.  We had been to the
doctor repeatedly and both of us checked out fine, but for whatever
reason we just couldn't get pregnant and we were beginning to think
that it may not ever happen.  We bought our first house together in
October 2009 and as soon as we moved in we started making this new
house our home and we were not as focused on trying to become parents.
Just after Christmas last year, I realized that I still had not had my
monthly cycle so I took a pregnancy test.  It was negative.  I told
myself that it was just the stress of the holidays and moving into our
new home that caused me to be late.  About a week later, my cycle
still had not started and I was becoming somewhat anxious.  One night
I was laying in bed about to go to sleep and started praying silently
for God to send me a sign, give me some reassurance about what was
going on.  I didn't want to get excited just to be disappointed once
again.  I prayed a very sincere, heart-felt prayer and I cried as I
prayed.  I prayed many things and just talked and poured my heart out
to my Heavenly Father.  Seconds after my prayer was finished, as I was
laying in the dark with my eyes closed, I had a feeling within my
womb.  If I could describe what a warm glow would feel like that is how I would describe this feeilng I had.
At that moment, I knew God was there with me and He was giving me the
sign that I had prayed for.  I knew instantly that I was indeed
pregnant and that our family would be blessed with a child!  It was a
truly AWESOME experience!  I was excited and elated and I had no doubt
that God had given what I had asked of Him.  On September 6, 2010 my
husband and I welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby boy and he is such a
joy and blessing to our lives!  We thank God every day for entrusting
us to care for this precious child.  WOW-GOD!
