Lisa, I listened to your story on the radio, and it made me cry for all the parents that are trying to do the right thing for their children... your story was the push I needed to give my financial pledge to K-Love. May the Lord guide your steps to be the parent that he wants you to be. God bless you and your son.

Lisa...we're in CT...and shhhh...don't tell anybody, but I was rooting for Butler...  We're in eastern CT and listen to the Westerly, RI, station.  No, there's no CT station officially...yet...but we're happy to advertise KLove by bumper sticker on our big van.  (I have to drive strategically sometimes to allow the people behind me to get a good glimpse of the Positive and Encouraging 88.1...!)  God bless you all as we are blessed by you and grateful to be able to give monthly financial support.

I'm writing to you with something that's been on my mind for a long time, The pledge drive, and i want to challenge you all. I grew up a missionary kid on the small island of Bonaire. My parents worked for Trans World Radio, which every night, broadcast the gospel in 32 different languages using 800000 kilo watts of power to do it, and they are still going strong today. Starting at the age of 13, i would sit in a small cubicle and listen to tapes on double speed, and cut out all references to dates, US specific holidays, and more importantly, requests for money. This ministry has been going strong for over 40 years, and to my knowledge, has never had a pledge drive, even though, it is completely listener supported. My family and i enjoy listening to K-Love and support you both in prayer and financially, however, during the pledge drive i either turn the radio off or listen to classic rock because i just can't stomach the pleas for money. Put yourself in God's shoes for a moment. What does He think or hear when he hears His children basically begging for money, and coming up with all sorts of creative gimmicks to raise funds for a ministry which you, rightfully so, advertise daily as a tool being used by Him to reach the masses that need Him. You have excellent advise for people when you remind them to trust in the Lord, but when it's your turn to trust, you resort to pledge drives. Do you realize that you are limiting God by putting a dollar amount on the money you think you need to keep K-Love on the air? If this is a ministry done in the Lords name and with His purpose in mind for you personally and your listeners, do you trust He will provide the funds required to do His will without asking for them? What an unbelievable testimony it would be if you could proudly present to your listeners that our almighty Lord and Savior came through once again, maybe in the last minute like we know He likes to work, and provided the exact amount of funding needed to do His work through you, because you dared to trust Him. What better way to give credibility to your words to listeners when you tell them to Trust the Lord by putting their lives, needs, sorrows, and joys in His hands. It's worked for TWR for 40+ years. Dare to Trust.

I just really have been touched by the similar thing happening...It is awesome to see that even children are in the presence of God.I listen to klove on the way to college in the mornings and on the way home..I always have my nieces which are twins that are 4 years old that I pick up and they ride with me home and they dont know all the words to all the songs but they are making the words and they hear exactly what is being said through music...they raise their hands and have prayed going down the road and it is an Awesome thing to see..they are into this thing that if their heads hurt or if they are sick they always ask me to pray for them and that really really touches me because I simply started that when one of them where crying and feeling bad and I simply touched their head and prayed out loud for them and all of the sudden I heard "My head doesnt hurt anymore now since you asked Jesus to make me all better"...Child like faith is what we need and because if we are not the example of God who will be?..this story hit home with me and I just wanted to comment on this...God Bless and Klove is Awesome!!!
