Mandisa is filling in for Lisa this morning!  God has done some amazing things in her life the last few years (she's lost over 100 lbs) and her new album "What If We Were Real" is fantastic!  She's currently out on the Girls Night Out Tour with comedian Anita Renfroe. Check out her trying to help me learn how to dance!

Scott & Kelli from the K-LOVE afternoon show also have your chance to win an amazing, one-of-a-kind experience with Mandisa - check it out here

I have always wondered what kind of music does Mandisa listen to when she works out?  I always listen to her while I work out and love the song Good Morning on her new cd Stronger! Her music motivates me to get moving at the gym!
Love you girl! Sarah

I was wondering if you can repeat the scripture Mandisa just read....didn't get a chance to catch it all just 1 Corinthians. It's a blessing to hear part of her testimony. I can't even go to sleep cause I'm listening to you both && time is just flying by. ;)

Oh yeah, && the song, Stronger, I've been listening to it for the past two days non-stop. I can relate to it so much, it let's me know that there is still hope, && reminds me that even in the silent moments God is still there.

Hey! I just wanted to congratulate Mandisa on her weight loss! I was just listening and heard her describe how it wasn't just physical but also spiritual. I too have been on the same path. I was 220lbs when I started by journey 3 years ago and since then it has been a struggle and I've had set backs from surgery, injury and weakness of the flesh. I currently weigh 175lbs but last year I was down to 150lbs. My injury is healed up though and this weekend I'll be running in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure! God is with us!My scripture that keeps me going is Hebrews 12:1-4 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight thta slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people, then you won't become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin."
Thanks for being so encouraging and full of Christ's love! I love this radio station!

Mandisa you are such a wonderful Woman of Christ. I have watched you since Beth Moore and Travis Cotrell and through AI and Simon's change toward "overweight" individuals. Now I have all your albums, Love your new song but the one that touches me the most is LifeLine. I have played it so many times my kids are going to pop me. Smile

Thanks for being an inspiration on the weight front also. I have lost 53 lbs in the last year (had to stop due to needing knee surgery) but this week I get to get back to working out and can't wait. Listening to you this morning has helped me get ready.

Love you - Eric & Lisa also- listen to you each morning- Yesterday my father in law had to take my kids for the day- he was listening to olides - my son said- "I'm Bored" he said well- sing to the music - My daughter said- "but Papa we are Christians we only listen to KLOVE"

Ive been struggling with forgiveness for MANY years.I wont go into all the crazy details except to tell you that my parents really dropped the ball @ parenthood. But listening to Mandisa this Morning I totally bought into the concept of forgiveness being more for the forgiver and I personally want to Thank Her and God for allowing me to have the chance to forgive.I feel like I am on a beginning journey to "letting Go" and Forgiving my parents.Which in turn will hopefully set me free from all these burdens I have secretly carried my whole life. Thanks Again <3

I love how positive she is!!! Glass half full kind of lady! Even with Simon! That is awesome! The Lord laid it on my heart not long ago to find the positive even if it is so small you almost can't see it...it always is there! Life is hard, but it is what you make it with the Lords help!

I commented last week on the link to spend a day with Mandisa....a friend just told me that she heard my note read on the air---how cool is that?!?!?!? Anyway I just wanted to say that I have lost a little over 100 pounds in the last year and a half and know how difficult that journey can be.  Thanks for sharing your struggle, Mandisa, as that is not always an easy thing to do. We can do ALL things in Christ who strengthens us!!!!

I am so proud of your weight loss as I have also lost 65 pounds but am not yet at my goal weight.  I feel so good and so strong like a daughter of the King should feel, strong and beautiful for what I have done with His strong hand guiding me.  I wanted to do this so my daughters can have a good example of how to live a healthy life and not have weight issues.  This is a struggle so many women face but we often look to the wrong things to help us with this battle (ie. magic pills, not eating). Thank you for this testimony!!

I am such a techno-NOT that I can't figure out how to post this question on L and E Facebook so here it is. My friend teaches Zumba and we both enjoy it, however, I'd like to know what Mandisa says about some of the music and it's sexual connotations/words. How does she find God-honoring Zumba songs? I'd love to be able to do my Zumba and feel like I am honoring God with the words and moves I am doing. Any advice? Thanks so much!

I've heard you referred to as Mande, never Disa. I first heard you on Toby Mac's CD. Love your voice, even when you speak. It's so soft and affirming.
Never saw a pic of you before, so I cannot speak on your weight loss. Great smile though. Please pray for me to loose weight and become more healthy. Keep doing what you love, and being obedient to God.

Love you!

I just want you to know that you are one of many reasons that inspired me to seek God's face again. In March I was having trouble with my son and I was at a dead end with him. I had to make the hardest choice in my life and let go of him and put him in God's hands and the Doctor's. I was depressed, not eating, and sleeping. I heard your song Stronger and I realized I was allowing my "waves " to drawn me and I listened to your song over and over I could not tell you how many times. In your voice I find peace, comfort, joy, hope, and love. I knew after I heard your song that God allowed me to hear, that He would make things better in time. I have let go of my son and yes, it hard and I miss him so much, but thank you for your inspiring words. Your talent is most awesome and I would love to met you one day and hug you just to say THANK YOU! My teacher at school is a Rev. for a small church and he said a prophet is someone who "shows up, speaks up, and stands up" If that is the case you showed up on time for me, you speak out about Jesus and you Stand firm in your ground about Christianity. So either way, you are inspiring, beautiful and I am inspired by your talent and gift. Thank you, God Bless. Karen Kennedy-Memphis TN.

I have been going through a hard couple of months. I had an uncle, great uncle and my grandmother die all in one month. On top of all of that my husband of 4 years filed for divorce. I have been leaning on my faith to get me through all of this heart break. A couple weeks ago on my way to work, I turned on the radio in my car. That is when I heard Mandisa's song "Stronger". It spoke to my heart and I began to cry. I just wanted to say Thank you to Mandisa for the inspiration! I love your voice and music!

I first want to mention how much of a fan I am of Mandisa! I loved her on American Idol and love her even more now.  Specifically, the new song stronger has really reminded me of God's peace.  As a matter of fact, just this morning I was feeling stressed and upset about a situaiton in my live and as that wave of depression started to come over me (I had K-Love playing in the background) I heard a verse from the song.  She sang, "Go on, fall into the arms of Jesus".  And that one verse just engulfed me and I felt myself turning away from negative thoughts and self-medications (which in my case is food).  So thank you Mandisa and thank you K-Love for all of the encouragement! That constant reminder of God's presence and all that it means to be his child is just what I need from day to day.

I found the quote! It's on her blog.
1 Corinthians 10:13- No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Lots of Karens on the board this morning!  To "Karen in California", the book I think is the one by Lysa Terkeurst called "Made to Crave". Mandisa talked about it, and the author is her friend.  If you scroll up, you'll see it on the right.  It's a beautiful sky blue and shows somebody with their head inside of a bright red refrigerator.
Hope that was it!
4/26/2011 11:24:48 AM
Ok, Karen from California, maybe you were talking about this book, also mentioned on Mandisa's offical web page:
and I quote... "I memorize scripture so I always have it readily available in my heart. I also carry spiral-bound 3×5 notecards that have scriptures written on them. This is a trick I learned from Beth Moore, who jokes that on the 8th day, God created notecards! Beth also has a great book called "Praying God’s Word-Breaking Free From Spiritual Strongholds" that I HIGHLY recommend. In it she shares the powerful weapon of combining God’s word and prayer. Many of my notecards contain scriptures/prayers straight from this book."  end quote!

My mother bought the CD What If We Were Real on the morning of April 13th.  That afternoon our apartment building caught on fire and burned, and we lost everything.  But the CD was in the car and the first song I heard when I got in the car was "These Days".  Talk about making a grown man cry I was totally in tears.  No matter how hard the days have been I am learning to love these days, and know that this trial will make me "Stronger".  Another tear jerker for me was "Just Cry".  But through it all JESUS is my "Lifeline".  Thank You So Much Mandisa this CD id such a blessing in a hard time.

Dear Mandisa, I was so happy to hear you on yesterday. I think you are a beautiful vessel of God's love. I also commend you for losing so much weight. I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager and having a baby hasn't made it any easier to lose the weight. I have pretty much always felt "comfortable" in my own skin, but have recently begun to feel not just overweight but disgusting. I battle with that and try so hard not to be hard on myself, just work hard at changing it. Any tips on how to increase my self control and drive would be so awesome. My husband and I want another child desperately but my weight will prove to be a problem. God Bless You!

Eric, remember that there are lots of us who are dance challenged, but God is glad to see us move in praise of Him.  There are lots of us who are both dance and voice challenged, so it is wonderful that He loves us no matter what.  However, I am just sure that He has earplugs in and is laughing hysterically at my "moves!"

Mandisa, I too have lost a lot of weight, mine was because of my twin boys. I got to eat what they didn't, needless to they ate most of it. Times were tough raising twin boys alone while working full time. I have to thank you and K-Love for so much you have done for me. Your song Stronger should be put on the top 40 radio, not taking anything from K-Love. It would just spred more of Gods words. Thanks you so much James 4:8 I did and He did too. Keep smiling for it doesn't hurt. It's FREE. God smiles on us everyday, so smile back.
