Ash Wednesday

Today Is Ash Wednesday!  Here's the scoop…

The act signifies repentance before God (as related in the Bible). The priest or minister says one or both of the following when applying the ashes:

Remember that thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return. —Genesis 3:19

Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel. —Mark 1:15

Hi K-Love....I've decided what I am going to do...I'm going to take a 40 day challenge/journey for Lent this year, I'm going to only listen to K-Love.... at home, in the car, even on my iPod.
I've just recently started listening to K-Love and it has brought God back into my daily life. Thank you!!! Happy Lent!

The second scripture reminded me why, for the 2nd year in a row, I've given up facebook for Lent. I need these 40 days to get away from the bitterness, anger, and feelings of judgment (all leading to sin) that have built up inside of me lately due to things on facebook. I don't plan to cancel my fb account for good, but I do plan to go back to fb after Easter Sunday with a renewed sense of what I need to get out of social media...and that doesn't include sinning.

I wanted to comment on the issue of faith... If I may. The Scriptures tell us that "faith" cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of GOD...So, faith doesn't fail, because its of GOD.  Failure comes in when we abandon our faith for "knowledge" which is of man, and therefore imperfect. There's a time to apply 'faith', a 'when' and a 'how'. When we deviate from this, we say our "faith" has failed... It didn't fail us. We failed It!!! Just wanted to say... Smiles.
