So, What's Up Your Nose?

Re: the Lego inside 6-year-old's nose ... As a medical courier years ago for a pathology lab, I did pickups at area hospitals as well as doctor offices.  One small specimen awaiting me one day had even the pathologist shaking her head, with the accompanying tale similar to Isaak's only a bit more extreme.  A 16-year-old girl with nearly lifelong sinus problems had had a bee up her nose evidently since she was a toddler.  The petrified specimen was perfectly preserved and had been there for at least a dozen years.  Used to picking up more gruesome specimens for biopsy, such as amputated limbs and various maglignant tissues, it was one of my lighter moments on the job.

Re: Lego inside nose story--Several years ago my children went to a family friendly doctor who had great beside manner with children.  He loved to look in their eyes and tell them he saw space, in their mouth and tell them he saw a bakery and in their ears he saw Elmo (their favorite character at the time). After one of our visits, we stopped a the "treasure chest" for a prize for being good.  My daughter picked out stick on earrings.  Later in the evening, my youngest son complained of his ear hurting.  Eventually it turned into a screaming cry from the pain.  We took him to ER and when they looked in his ear they noticed something stuck.  They removed it and told us it was a stick on earring with Elmo on it.  I asked him why he put it in his ear?  He told me "The doctor said he saw Elmo in my ear and I thought he fell out so I put him back in! "

you think thats bad...I had to go to the ER to have a popcorn kernel removed from my ear...Dont ask me how it happened...I apparently was a very dumb young adult...i think I was between 22 and 25...but anyway, I was sitting with my parents and some visiting family playing games and just got the notion to stick a popcorn kernel in the little cleft of my ear, and when I went to try and take it out I wound up pushing it in, so as Im trying to dig it out I just keep pushing it in further...so then I get the bright idea I will sneak off to the bathroom and trying and flush it out with the little ear wax removal ball thing...well I later learned that that just made it expand...so then I get really smart and go into the kitchen and get a toothpick! to try and dig it out :0 . So after about twenty minutes of trying to get up the nerve of how im gonna tell my mom this, I go back to the kitchen table and in a frustrated mumble tell me mom she needs to come with me...then she calls my dad and the next thing I know we are in the er...The doctor walked into that room and he looked at me then he looked at  my mom and then looked at the chart and right back at me and said "I WAS EXPECTING A FOUR YEAR OLD"...yeah, not one of my brighter moments. I had to lay down on the bed and he tuck one of those suction things and stuck it in my ear and that is when we found out the popcorn kernel was directly on my ear drum...my whole lower body levetated off of that table...it was excruciating pain...so then needless to say he had to stick a huge needle in my ear to deaden it and then they were able to take out the popcorn kernel...like I said, not one of my brighter moments!

Once my family went to a chinese resturaunt and my grandma was going to take home a little tiny squid and when we were leaving she couldn't find it so she asked everybody then we all looked at my brother because he was three but now he's seven and we asked him and he said, " I put him back with his little friends!" We all cracked up! We still remember that today!
