A NEW you in 52???

Well if you have made resolutions to lose some weight and get into better shape... Kelli and I are to help you.  We have started a New You In 52!  We will have experts on every Friday to help you shape up through out the year!  Typically most of us stick with our resolutions for only 18 days! We are hoping to change that.  By joining together, holding each other accountable and lifting one another up in prayer...  It Can Happen!!!  So fell free to share your story, and know that we will be here to help encourage you and give you the tools to help shape a New You in 52!!!

I am glad to join in with you this year to live a healthier lifestyle.  I know I need to be healthy for my kids and also to be ready for whatever God calls me to do for Him this year.  I lost 30 pounds last summer and am making it my goal to lose the rest this year. (52 pounds in 52 weeks).

I was in my car when I heard about the new you in 52.  Scott and Kelli I have to tell you that I think god has used you to answer my prayer.  I have been praying for a few weeks that my husband and I would start losing weight and start a diet.  I have tried but I always fail.  I worry that my husband will have a heartattach before he is even 40.  I know with god and with everyone's support from K-Love that we can do this.  Thank You!!

I will join you, I have tried to lose in the past, but it is always easier if you do it with a team. I have lost 6 lbs in the last 5 days, I know this is mostly water weight,but it still feels good. I have a 100 lb goal.

I laughted when you said that you fell off the hourse and you were being dragged behind.  My hourse went out to pasture and has not come home for many moons.  I  was so encouraged on my drive home as was working on my motivation to go exercise.  The Lord is soooooo good...He knew exactly what I needed to hear.....the horse is back and we are off!

I have lost 112 pounds over several years and gone from a type 2 diabetic and high cholesterol to having better than normal numbers.  Now training for a half marathon in September.  Going to join you to lose as much of the 50 remaining pounds that I can this year.  I do know almost any recipe can be made healthy and tasty too as I take recipes and tweak all the time!

1st of all, my husband & I love listening to you and KLOVE, 24/7 Smile

My name is Missy and my husband Jeff and I would like to join you all with the 'New you in 52'. I used to be a lean-mean 145lb, with dr's telling me I was 20-25lbs overweight. Couldn't believe it. But I also took it as a compliment because I knew it wasn't fat but muscles. Well, over the course of the last 15 years my job requirements have changed (a lot of sitting). Now we run our own biz full time (BRM OFFROAD Graphics - KLOVE biz partner) and we have a beautiful 4yr old daughter who we were blessed with thru adoption when she was just 7 days old. You would think that combination would actually shed the pounds but it's been the opposite.

Well, Jeff & I have always been "outdoor" people but when we moved to AZ 10 years ago, we actually saw less of the outdoors. We've been trying to get back in shape, but struggle with it. We race quads and an offroad buggy so we know working out will benefit us there too... it's just being consistent that we struggle with. We are very well aware of our dietary intake. We both know the protein/carb/fat intake to watch and we eat pretty healthy most of the time. We just need to stay consistent and focused. Our goals are to both lose 20-30 lbs, and swap out the flab for muscles again Smile

Jeff's sister is our long-distance workout buddy. We email each other thru facebook in the mornings after our workouts to encourage each other. We weigh in on Thursday mornings and we did great for the month of November but both family's ran into family and work struggles in December. We both want to get back on track asap though. Our goals are to lose 1-1.5 lbs a week, keeping it healthy and realistic.

Well, with you guys talking about the 'New you in 52' Jeff and I thought "Let's get on board!" We'll try to find a way to drag Chris on board too, I'm sure she'll appreciate it... plus we're not quite sure she has accepted Jesus yet Smile

Count us in and our workouts WILL start up again tomorrow morning.

I have  been praying that I can las all year.  Thanks Scott and Kelly for doing this.  I am a diabitic on insulin, I have been doing the Daniel fast and now I am off insulin my numbers have been good since the end of November. Pray for me so I can keep it up for 52 weeks, I never thought of it like this wow. Praise God

I am so happy that you are doing this.  I know that I need to live a healthier lifestyle not only for myself but for my children.  I don't want to be out of breath when we are playing.  I want to keep up and make them work hard too. Wow!  I've been looking for some inspiration to get back to exercising and eating more healthy.  I'm going on 23 years with Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia.  I have been blessed and have worked full-time for the last 11 years, but I have little time and energy to exercise.  Maybe this is what I need to get going again.  Thanks for the challenge and encouragement.

Thank You K-Love and Thank God for this motivational opportunity! I have been on a roller coaster for many years with my weight issues, since my 2 babies were born 10 & 12 years ago. Smile

I have been on cholesterol medication since my 10 year old was born and would LOVE to get off of it! I found it challenging to juggle work, school, and home responsibilities... rarely finding time for myself. I recently graduated in December, so I'm hoping this new year with a little less responsibility will be just what I need to get a jump start to a healthier me... for myself and my children.

I'm looking forward to a "New Me in 52" and will stay strong with positive thoughts. It would be great to lose 52 pounds!! I can do this!.... With prayer, God's strength, and all of the other K-Love listeners facing this challenge.

Thanks Scott and Kelli!  I have had the Lapband for 2 years and lost about 40 lbs.  I still have around 100 lbs to lose.  I think the biggest thing in weight loss, is accountability. It is always such an encouragement to have someone there with you to say...you can do!  I pray we can all reach our goals this year and stick to it.

Ps. Just thought I would mention, I used to sell health and wellness products and named my company, "To the New U". Everyone thought it was such a great name.  Smile

Count me in, I have been on a roller coaster with my weight for 3 yrs or so. Lost 70 lbs and then gained back about 40 of it and I am proud to say that I have lost 20lbs in the last 3mnths. God works in a wonderful way. I even lost during the Holidays. I can do this for myself and my children

What a great idea!  Meeting a goal is always easier with the support of others.  I've started adding a healthy acai blend juice product to my diet which has helped me feel better, but I'd like to add regular exercise for maximum benefit.  Count me in--and thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks for doing this for us.  I always feel I can do things with the help of others.  I am determined to lose 45 pounds before next Christmas.  KLOVE radio is on all day as I work in my sewing room.  I also play it a little loud when I walk the treadmill.  Having others working toward these goals helps us all.  God Bless All of you...Thanks again.

I've known that I need to change the way I live (and that weight loss will come easy as soon as I do start the change), but I'm slightly lacking in the willpower area. Hey Guys!

Thanks so much for the added encouragement!  My Dad and I have decided to make 2010 the year as well.  Dad would like to lose 100 pounds, and I would love to lost the 15 that I've put on since my hysterectomy 7 years ago.

God didn't design our bodies to carry around this extra weight, and he certainly designed our bodies to consume and burn the foods that HE provided, not that we created!  

We can't wait to see how everyone does this year, and we are praying hard for everyone involved!

I has gastric banding in 08 and have lost 80lbs. I have found a wonderful chruch and feel better than ever. Praise God! 2010 I pray to continue to loose like I have been and to be more active in exercise and my new church. My husband is wonderful and supportive. Love KLove it keeps me calm and happy.

HOw do we sign up? Count my husband and me in.  I was recently praying about this very thing.  And I was thinking about how our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost.  We wouldn't go to our church and throw junk around or damage the building, yet we eat stuff that damages our temple.  This has helped me a little bit with my focus on what I eat.  
We love KLOVE!!!!!! I think this new you in 52 is a good idea.

Yeah for A New you in 52!  God wants us to take care of our earthly bodies so we can serve him better.  I HAD cancer in 2007. My biggest fear was that my 3 young kids would not have a Mom. After surgery to remove it I decided to lose 70 pounds and maintain my health so I can raise my kids.  Energy levels are up, my back feels much better and I can play with the kids till they are tired and not be tire myself.  I want to stay fit and healthy so will join you.

Count me in! Both my siblings had gastric bypass and both have diabetes.  I'm a yo-yo dieter and very overweight. I have lost 30 pounds about 10 times and gained it all back PLUS each time.  My New Year's resolution is to care more about myself and my health.  I'm going to wear my retainer, not stretch out the hair color appointment til it looks dreadful, eat breakfast, diet, exercise, you get the drift.  I am shocked when I see pictures of myself and was shocked when I finally faced the scale on Monday evening.  No more burying my head in the sand.  It's time!  Looking forward to supporting each other!

After many many prayers I found Advocare.  In 2 1/2 months I lost 31 lbs and went from a size 16 to a 10.  I thank God everyday for bringing this christian company into my life.  I never had the will power to eat the way I should.  Advocare teaches you to eat properly and when you do along with their support our body works the way God designed it.  I now have the will power to walk away from desserts, food left on my kids plates etc... Count me in!  Over the past 2 years, I have fallen away from taking care of myself.  I simply let personal issues get in the way of doing what I know was important, taking care of myself for me and my family. I have prayed and asked God to help me lose weight and get back into a positive state of mind, but did not take any initiative to do my part and do something.  It's time to do something.  I've told God I am ready and willing to step up and He has told me He is there for me.  And now through A New You in 52, He is blessing me with a support group.  I was listening to Mike Weaver on the KLOVE morning show Wednesday.  He was talking about perseverance in long term weight loss and he mentioned Galatians 6:9. And let us not be weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap a harvest.  I have made it one of my motivational scriptures.  It is on my desk at work with a picture of Guadalupe Peak in Texas.  My goal is to be able to hike "The Peak" in 2010.

Hi Scott and Kelli,

I had lived with eating issues for most of my life. I learned that the bulk of our eating issues stem from emotional strongholds. I was able to find a wonderful Christian counselor to help guide me through the destructive life of disordered eating.
Emotional freedom was the key and taking away the emotional blocks has freed me spiritually as well. I pray that all of your participants find the emotional freedom from food. It has changed my life....I learned to love myself and my eating reflects the love that God has for me as well as the love I have for myself. I do not take for granted that my body is a gift from God and like all other gifts He has given us it is our responsibility to take care of it.

I think you are doing a great thing. 2010 is the year for great changes in the lives of Christians.

This is awesome...I need all of the prayers I can get.  I lost 55lbs 7 years ago.  Then I got pregnant with my daughter. And gained 60lbs that I never lost.  As I finally began losing again (6 years later), I got pregnant with my son.  I only gained 25 lbs this time, and lost it, but am still over 200lbs.  I watch Biggest  Loser, each time saying I am gonna lose.  And last year, I began working out as I watched the show, and doing the whole slim fast diet.  I was down 25 lbs when my husband deployed to Afghanistan.  Life became stressful with children's illnesses and a hip injury.  Now, my husband has been gone 4 months, and I am fighting to get back into some kind of routine.  The stress eating is my biggest battle.  I have begun with Wii Fit workouts, and eating what I want while cutting portion sizes as well as cutting back on my caffeine.  So, far I have lost 3lbs since Christmas.  As I continue this battle, it feels good to know that I will not be alone.

I am glad to hear about this.  I am also an insider so why not do this also.  How encouraging this is.  I have always had weight problem.  3yrs ago a gave up my addictions, 2yrs ago worked on my relationship with my husband, last yr was my profesion ( went from walmart to driving) more money and bennifts. what a blessing.  this year is my health and losing weight.  I need to lose at leat 125 lbs.  My doctor is recommending beriatric.  I give it to God, He will close those doors and I will get this weight off and keep it off or its the surgery.  With your help and this blg.  I can get encouraged.  Thank you so much.

This is soo awesome...I need all of the prayers that I can get.  Seven years ago, I lost 55lbs only to get pregnant with my daughter.  I gained 60lbs while pregnant and never lost the weight.  When I finally started losing weight again (6 years later), I got pregnant with my son.  This time I only gained 25lbs and lost it.  But I still weight just over 200lbs.  Being only 5 foot, even my Wii Mii is a little fatty.  Every year I watch "Biggest Loser" and tell myself that I am gonna lose.  Last year, I began working out while watching and following the slim-fast diet.  I lost 25lbs.  In September, my husband deployed to Afghanistan.  Life became stressful as I dealt with children's illnesses and a hip injury.  At the same time, I am a substitute teacher looking for a full-time teaching position.  Stress eating has become a BAD habit, and I have gained 15 of the 25lbs back since my husband left.  At Christmas, I started Wii workouts and cutting back on caffeine and portion sizes.  So, far I have lost 3lbs.  As I continue this battle it feels great to know that I am not alone!

I realized early March last year, that although i had been a Christian for 12 years, I never really gave over my entire life. My eating and anything that revolved around food, I had to have control of. Well, April 1st of last year, I turned that over to God too. God is so good and has blessed me. In 9 months, I lost 93 pounds... See More. I can't wait to see what he has in store for me this year. Maybe the rest will come off too. Either way, my relationship with Him has grown stronger. I'm calmer, more in check with my emotions and feel that He has provided me with a grasp on life. God is good!

I started losing weight in June. I took a break in November and December, and am now trying to restart. Was doing pretty well, until today.  Should never have taken a break. That's when I heard you on the radio talking about "New You in 52". I am so on board. May God bless us all in our journey.

I heard about the new you in 52 this morning on my way to work and I was excited. I felt that it was God's way of speaking to me because as of last week I decided it was time to get back into shape. My goal is to drop down to 130lbs but currently I am at 193. At the end of the 52 weeks I am hoping to lose 63lbs and I know it will be rough but with prayer and everyone's support I know I can do it.

Hello:  I am so glad I was listening to you today.  This is what I truly need, I watch the biggest loser every season and just don't do anything.  I was listening when a lady was on that had lost over a 100 pounds in the last year and she was so inspiring.  I want to start by getting up tomarrow morning and doing 40 minutes of exercise a day.  That even seems attainable to me.  I have been in boot camps and just got tired and burned out.  I want to do this because I feel miserable in my clothes and know that if I put my mind to this and pray about it and have this great support group I will be able to achieve my goals for the year of 2010.
1.  loose 80 -120 pounds this year.
2.  participate in the half maramthon this year and at least run half of it.
3.  get my daughter to realise how much fun this can be for the both of us.
4.  Challenge my father to realise that he is worth caring about himself and loosing the weight he has gained since his gastric bypass.....

Thanks again Scott and Kelli, I am so excited God really does answer prayers.  I vow to get up at 5:25 a.m. and do the exercises I have DVR for the last couple of weeks.....My year is 2010 and watch me loose at least 110 pounds........God is the power to make this possible with the support of this great network....

One of my good friends lost 70 in 09.  She is my inspiration.  I only need to lose 20, but I think sometimes when it's a small amount, it is even harder.  I am turning to God and friends to keep me on track.  I want to reach my goal by May 1st.

First off. Klove is amazing. I don't know where I would be with out it or your amazing staff.

To start off, I am a 20 year old that is in college and working full time. I have been working out since October of 09 and lost 20 pounds from being in the gym 5 days a week. My goal is to lose 50 by summer time. So i know if i have done as good as I have by myself, i will do much better with a team. Thanks for starting this.

I am so happy to hear about this. I have gained alot of weight since then. I have felt myself get more and more heavier. I am now 165lbs and my normal weight is about 125lbs. I cant belive I let it get this far, I feel like a failure. I knew I needed to loose weight but I never put God in that equation. I dont have a healthy reationship with food and I need to fully commit. Thank you so much for this incouragement.

I'm so in! I've been struggling for the past 3 years, since my son was born, to take off the pregnancy weight. After I hit his 2nd birthday and I was still 50 pounds overweight, I knew something had to change. I am so happy to join in this with a positive environment for this positive change. I love God, and I want to take better care of the body He gave me. My goal is to lose 44 more pounds (I've already lost 6 since November) by October--my little brother is getting married in the Florida Keys!!
My husband and I bought a Wii and a Wii Fit at Christmas--talk about motivation!! It's a great way to have fun AND exercise as a family--indoors (we live in Thornton, Colorado)!

I am in! Seems like losing weight is always my New Year's resolution - this year I want it to be different - so I am working on the emotional part of eating. I am a stress eater and am seeking encouragement to turn to God instead of food. I enjoy listening to you. I work at a job where I can listen to music through head phones - and I listen to K-love almost 8 hours almost every day! Fills my brain with positive thoughts.

I noticed the comment about having arthritis and thought I would share this info -- I have an arthritic hip that had me limping since last summer. I have taken off only about 6 lbs and it has made a terrific difference.  I want to lose about 20 more and see what that does! Thanks for the support in this important endeavor.

I am 6'1" and pushing 280lbs which is what was about my heaviest weight before I met my wife, approx. 11 years back.
I had always been borderline obese prior, all my life, to that with the ole yo-yo dieting.  
I was in a car accident almost 4 years ago which limited my activity for sometime. That and working in a cubicle.  No excuse.
I feel I have helped my wife fall into my unhealthy life style as she is about at her heaviest weight too, 5'6" 131lbs.
I have had a goal in the back of my head of getting back to my courting weight of 212lbs.
I actually wanted to try last year and wanted to get on board with Big Daddy's 90 in 09 but never really got a good start.
After hearing this being announced yesterday instantly and idea popped in my head. I am working out setting a goal of loosing 5lbs a month. This will put my very close to my target weight of 212lbs. I have not settled on my target weight yet but am committed to 5 lbs per month.

I am ready for this. I was very inspired by hearing that Big Daddy Weave lost 84lbs and if he can do that with his busy schedule I can do it. My goal for 2010 is 75lbs. My doctor told me a couple yrs ago that if I would lose weight I could get off my sugar and blood pressure medicine. I want to be healthier for me and for my family. I started my new year resolution the last week of December. I wanted to get into shape and lose some weight not only for myself but for my husband. He will be leaving in a few weeks for a 15 month deployment to Iraq and I wanted to be able to surprise him when he returns. He gives me the most encouragement and I won't have it as often as I do now. I know I need a support group and accountability while he is gone so I think it is wonderful that yall are doing this. We moved 8 years ago and built a house and during that time I let myself go because it was grab this and that to eat and no exercise.  I have gained 40pounds 8 years ago and have never taken it back off. I heard about the New You in 52 while on my way to work.  I am already concentrating on getting healthier with my family and friends, so it will be great to have this on my side as well.  I am going to Disneyland in August and want to be able to walk around the park with all the energy I want!  Scott and Kelli, my weight loss goal is 40 pounds by August 22 and 60 pounds total.  With you two, all the others out there, and God, I know I can do it!

I am not able to post during your show in the afternoon so I will post my weight now 251. I have made a goal to lose 100 pounds this year, 50 by June for www.pfpchallenge.com by The Biggest Looser.

I am 36, a full time student with a nursing major, work full time and am full time care giver for my husband. These past two years have been so hard for us both I gained a lot of the weight I lost back. I am done with the excuses and ready to be accountable for myself. I am so happy that I now have this wonderful opportunity to share my successes and get encouragement from everyone. This may seem like a small step, but that is how you get ahead in life!

At work over the last two years just before Thanksgiving, til right before Christmas, we have done this "Biggest Loser" competition. We weigh in weekly, we pay 5.00 a week if we are not the BL of the week, if you are, your exempt. I ended up losing 9lbs. which was a great start, but then over the Christmas break, (we get about a week of leave) I probably gained atleast 5 of it back. We are looking for a long term goal, a "life change". I will committ or have committed to joining your challenge. Im not sure what it all consists of. I havent had time to read up on it, just a few of your posts. I have started to eat healthier, and exercise more. I am determined to get down two sizes. Thanks for your encouragement!

I'm right there with you guys!  I actually began my journey in March of last year when the arthritis in my knees had reached a point where I could barely walk 1/2 a block some days. (Although there is no problem with the cartilage - just really bad inflammation.) The orthopedist was talking knee replacements but I'm only 53 and he said it's not a good idea to do that at my age. I am only 5'1" and I weighed 240 lb.  I went to a chiropractor at the suggestion of a friend and found he was nothing like chiropractors I had seen in the past - he's not a "bone cruncher".  He uses a treatment called Active Release Technique which works with the muscles.  But I told him I knew I wasn't going to be able to recover completely unless I lost the weight, and nothing I had ever tried had worked, long-term.  So he began to work with me on that as well.  In addition to being a DC, he is also a Certified Nutritionist and a Certified Trainer.   In 2009 I took off 78 pounds and My goal for 2010 is to lose the remining 32 pounds.  Even now, I am at a weight that I have not seen since I was pregnant with my first child - and he's 30.  God has been my strenth through the past 9 months.  Every time I felt like I wanted to quit when I was only 10 minutes into a work-out, He has been there for me.  And K-Love has been as well.  I seldom climb on my bike without having K-Love on to keep me going. (I love it that you are finally on the air in Pittsburgh but even before you came to Pittsburgh, I turned it on my computer to listen.)
I have actually learned a lot in my journey and on the first Wednesday in February, I will begin a prayer support group at my church for others who are fighting the same battle.  
The biggest thing that I have learned is that I can not do it alone.  I need to depend on The Almighty God, my Savior for strength every day while at the same time being ABSOLUTELY aware that He is not going to do it for me if I don't do my part.  
And I also need accountability and support from at least one other human being - in my case I had Brad (my Dr) but not everyone has that, so I'm going to try to Pay it Forward.  
Third, I have learned to be patient and stay committed, regardless of the length of the journey.  My original goal was 100 pounds in a year, but I realized about two months ago that there was no way I was boing to make that, but rather than give up, I adjusted my goal.
Finally, I have learned to accept that what works for one person, may not necessarily work for everyone.  For example - one nutritionist says get rid of eveything that has more than 10 grams of fat/serving.  But, since Omega 3 fats are anti-inflammatory, I need them in my diet.  Olive Oil is a staple in my diet - I eat it on salad almost every day. 14 gr of fat per Tbsp, but that has not stopped me from losing.  Yes, this skinny chic eats salad, and loves it!

I myself started one of Tony Horton's plans this past May of 09' and I've lost 63 lbs. so far. I've been between 230 and 240 lbs since the sixth grade! It has been such a spiritual journey growing closer to the Lord through this and the benefits in all areas are amazing! I'm healthier than ever before, my home has become healthy, and my church is inspired too! People see me in the pulpit all the time, and many are getting on board for a healthier life too.
I'm looking forward to my 40's as a fit and more effective man, husband, father & pastor for God! Godspeed & Prayers from a Pastor's heart! And as Tony Horton would say,  "Bring it!"

I am needing to loose 70 to 100lbs. With a tight budget, I can't afford any equipment and we live in a rural area so there is no gym to go to, besides with my many injuries, I am unable to do many aerobic excercise due to pain from the jarring, Weight lifting is out also as I have a bad back. Walking gives me knee problems so I am limited on my options. I have done the Tony Little Gazelle (borrowed from a friend)and Tae Bo with some small (more energy but no weight loss) success but that is hard to do by myself (lack of accountability) Any suggestions would help.

Donna H. - try Leslie Sansone videos.  They are just walking videos and are a great way to get started.  She'll add on side steps and kicks and some upper body but no difficult moves at all.  Once you get going, you can add resistance bands to help with strength training.  My local Target has them on sale right now for around $10.

Well, I have recently started to lose some weight and I have been on Weight Watchers counting points and hitting the Treadmill and so far I have lost 7 pounds and my BMI is steadily going down!  I usually start things like this then stop after a couple weeks but not this time!!  I am determined to get healthy and into shape I even went to a movie last weekend and didn't order popcorn or anything!!!  that is super big since I LOVE movie theater Popcorn!!  I know God wants me to be health so I thank Him for helping me be disciplined.  Thank you Scott & Kelli for everything you do.  God BLess!!

So, in January I started a local "the Biggest Loser" competition.  I have been working out 4 days a week for the last 4 weeks and FEEL so much better. I'd like to lose 30 pounds, but have only gotten lost 3 pounds in the last 4 weeks and 1.5% body fat.  That's good, but not as good as I had hoped.  The next 6 weeks I'll work hard to get off a whole lot more!  I do know I have lost inches.  My family tells me I am thinner now and I do everything I can to keep up the work.  At age 43, what else can I do to boost my metabolism?  I eat well. I try to keep my portions in control.

I've been on my "Getting Lean" Journey since April of 2009. I joined a gym and workout 6 days a week 3 days of weight training and 3 days of aerobics. I started the Joel Marion Cheat to Lose Diet and I have lost a total of 65lbs and 14% body fat. I have about 15-20lbs left to lose and am hoping to shed those by the start of start of summer. As I get closer to my goal the weight is much harder to take off. I will soon be a single Mom to an 8year old boy and I want him to see me making healthy choices and that being active is fun.

I was a firefighter/EMT in fairly great shape until an accident in the ambulance dec 2005. With the injuries and post-traumatic depression, i gained 40 lbs in the first 8 mos, then 20 more the second year, and 20 more the 3rd year.  Right now I way 230lbs, it is so difficult.
I believe that God wants me to deal with this weight gain now that i have my mind straight and my reasons with it. I may not ever be able to be a firefighter again...but i can be healthy, productive, and happy mom once more.  HIS strength is sufficient to help me with my binge eating, my emotional responses and triggers, and to help me exercise in a way that helps my injuries to heal or to strengthen my core to compensate around them. HE has plans for me to prosper. I turn this to you LORD...I'm sooooo desperate for your help.

I feel I must very respectfully but strongly disagree with the low-fat advice we are being given. In the previous studies on fats and the heart it turns out they lumped trans-fats along with saturated fats in the studies. Well no wonder they showed that those fats cause heart disease. And then they blamed in on saturated fat. But the truth is the saturated fat from healthy animals (grass-fed for example) is very healthy and in fact necessary for robust health and  they protect the heart, prevent cancer (because of the vitamins they contain A,D,E,K and allow your body to utilize) and are important for mental health and many other functions to numerous to mention here. Sound weird? Well then think about this: God gave us animals to eat. Animals contain saturated fat. Is God dumb? (of course not!)Our ancestors THRIVED and MULTIPLIED on very high fat diets. They knew that those fats (butter, cream, whole raw milk, cheese, whole yogurt, kefir, eggs, lard, chicken and duck fat...) were important for health and reproduction. Heart attacks were virtually unknown until the early 1900s. That's when they started pasteurizing milk and making margarine (trans fats). The USDA reports that saturated fat consumption is at record lows compared to 100 years ago yet cancer, heart disease, diabetes, auto-immune diseases, mental health problems, infertility are at record highs! If our ancestors had these problems then I think it would be safe to say we would not be here today. God knew what he was doing when he gave us those foods. God did not make low-fat yogurt or low-fat cheese. Food scientists did. And they make lots of money. So there's your answer. It's all about the money. Think about God when you make your food choices. Ask Him about it! My favorite go-to website for all nutrition and health information is westonaprice.org. They have many articles with references and the science to back EVERYTHING up. This is not quackery. It is truth. The people are so misled. Please, I beg of you to at least take a peek at that website. If for nothing else but your own good! It has changed my families life. "The reason we are spiraling into diabetes and obesity is because of the low-fat concept developed by the U.S government decades ago. Low-fat diets have a low nutrient base, and phytonutrients in vegetables cannot be properly absorbed without fat."

Low-fat thinking does not make sense when you think about what God made for us to eat. He made animals and they contain saturated fat. ALL of the studies done on saturated fat and disease were either flawed or purposely misrepresented for the good of the vegetable oil industry, the pharmaceutical industry etc. Without animal fats (from healthy grass fed animals) we cannot utilize the fat soluable vitamins A,D,E,K. Heart disease has gone UP since people have switched to fake butters and vegetable oils and low fat foods. The USDA has those statistics. Really think about it. God made all kinds of foods for us to eat and now thousands of years later we are being told those foods are bad. That doesn't make sense. Is God stupid? Did he put that food on earth to kill us? If it is so bad how did the earth get to the population that it is? Why are so many people getting so sick now from disease that were rare and virtually unheard of 150 years ago. Also consider that low fat foods are not whole foods. And we know that foods that are not whole foods are not good for us. Our body does not know what to do with a fractionated food. So we get sick, and depressed, and cancer and heart disease and lupus and crohn's etc. Google "cholesterol myths" and see what you find there. I am not the only one to think this way. I even read an article in a Rite Aid health magazine that said that low fat was the biggest joke of the century. Pray about and ask God you give you wisdom in this area.

I just heard about the New You in 52 today, it's so cool how just last night my family came together and decided that we were going to make some chages to be healthier. We are going to eat healthier, and exercise more. We have also decided to make goals for ourselves and encourage each other in the process! I am really excited to know that my KLove family will also be encouraging us on that journey!

My schedule changed and I finally had a chance to hear about the "new you in 52".  I really need it.  I gained 10 pounds with each of my kids, and then it seems I add 5 pounds for each year that I'm "39 again". So now I'm 60 pounds overweight. I used to dance competitively until a car accident in 98. 2 of my kids came after that.  In addition, I have scoliosis, which I have learned is actually getting worse due to age, gravity, and weight.  Although I'm not a WILLING participant in the aging process, the thing I CAN control for my scoliosis is my weight.  The less weight I carry, the less strain on my back, and the slower the progression.  I MUST DO THIS!!! So, having physical limitations to what and how much I can do makes this an enormous challenge.  I've always been conscientious where food is concerned, but I'm missing the info for the type of exercise that is reasonable for my condition.  
I experience less pain when I'm moving.  In fact, I run an organic garden that donates produce to the local food bank every week.  Its a lot of physical work, but I can do it... as long as I keep moving.  So why can't I lose weight?  Please pray for the right information to come my way. I really need help.

Hi!  1st - I'm SOOO thankful for K-Love.  When I cannot find a decent Bible teaching program on-air or if I just need some MUSIC, I often depend on K-LOVE for distinctly Christian tunes...to keep my mind on God's Word.

Health and weight-loss, THANK YOU for choosing to do "The New You in 52?"  I have been through the ULTIMATE roller-coaster.  Fasting water-only for 40 days this past Nov. 24-Jan 3rd.  Doing it again for 16 days prior to Easter.  Then, another 10 day at the end of last month.  Each time I bounce back.  My body was put through some hard stuff with no food, and then it would just "put it on" within a week of my finishing.  I never found the control to eat only vegetables and fruits for 3 weeks afterward, as is recommended.  My skin has also taken the toll from all of this...as, I'm sure, my organs have.  Ready to change my way of approach.

From my experience, the NUMBER ONE priority for each of us is to make God the center of our lives.  He needs to be the reason we want to lose weight - so we can worship Him better...by being good stewards of the body He gave us, by having a "temple" (of the Holy Spirit) that HONORS Him (see Haggai) - causing others to praise God.  

HOWEVER, amidst having God at the center of our lives and recognizing the fruit that living "in-step-with" the Holy Spirit offers (especially, self-control - see Galatians), we cannot disregard EDUCATION!  There is knowledge to be gained about just HOW this body that God gave us works!  Pass it on in discipleship!  In order to "rebuild" our bodies (the temples of the H.S.), we need to know what needs to be done to accomplish that.  Certainly, we must not neglect the Word of God as food for our souls - because a fit outward body does not mean that the inside (the mind and heart) is pleasing God - which is THE MOST important.  It needs to be an inside-out process of sanctification.

SO, thanks, K-LOVE, for meeting a need that is so prevalent in our society today.  There is so much practicality in it!  K-LOVE is LOVING it's listeners "in action and truth" by airing this!  Praise the Lord!  Not to mention the prayer that goes on behind the scenes.

I do think that God cares about how we treat our bodies.  Not that we become "worried about what we will eat" or "what we will wear".  God will provide our needs.  However, we can learn to use the brain God gave us to make better choices with the food/money/time God has given us...so that our body can honor Him, and we can grow to our fullest potential in service to Christ!

Reading Christine Avanti's introduction to her weight-loss plan on one of the websites, I have already gained respect for her.  I'm 26 (as of Thurs) and am ready to set out on a "construction project" for this temple.  I've tried over the past year and failed.  Ready to do it the right way.  I need to be building a sturdy structure with a view toward a lifetime...not just some flashy-painted cardboard that will be ruined with the next rainstorm.

I've been listening to everyone talk about the new U in 52.  Man, that sounds like such a long time.  But, of course, I'm going through those 52 weeks regardless.  So, I've decided to jump on the band wagon.  

This is extremely important that I do this because I am in end stage renal failure.  A couple of months ago, we thought the time had come to start dialysis.  But not yet. That's when I realized my time was running out. If I want to be eligible for a kidney transplant, I HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT!  

So, me and Jesus, we got it going on.  Everyday He takes another ounce or two away and by the end of 52, He'll have taken all the excess away and just have a healthy kid!

i love k-love, i wake to you every morning. i had been slowly gaining weight for 6 years. i moved to a different state where i was able to start listening and got a desk job. now im sitting all day for 4 years. i have made changes since last year and finally stopped gaining but i really need to lose 40 lbs. i need help. i have seen the infomercials and it seems amazing. please enter me this week to win it. 720-334-2504
