Haiti Needs Your Prayers...

Find out how to help Haiti

This morning I called my friend Will McGinnis from Audio Adrenaline to check on him and the orphange that they run in Jacmel, Haiti.  He said that he is thankful that everyone at the facility is OK, but the destructuion is overwhelmming.  Audio Adrenaline Mark Stuart and his family are there right now and Mark sent this email this morning.

Hi everyone.... Our internet is working finally. So I'm sending this to a few of you.... Everyone here is ok, but we are all very scared. The buildings held up great, but there are several houses right around us that have collapsed. Also, Hotel Cyvadier had major damage, while the brand new three story "peace of mind" hotel was demolished. Francine, one of our teenage nannies was in afternoon school and escaped while the building was collapsing around her because she was sitting by the door...however many of her classmates died yesterday. Many houses and and buildings have collapsed in Jacmel including the hospital. I know most of the news there is coming from PAP, but there is substantial loss of life here on the south coast. We need prayer for wisdom and strength. Its very chaotic here. We were able to buy diesel this morning and hopefully get more propane for cooking tomorrow. Last night was crazy...slept on the dirt in the center of the village...away from the buildings. Tonight we may venture back indoors, but that is yet to be decided. We go in and out to get necessities. The Haitian people are numb and sad to say very used to death, but this has created what seems to be a hypnotic state. I've never been in a situation were you feel SO helpless, fearful, and small. The tremors are coming again as i type this. Whoa!!!

Thanks so much for praying for Haiti and all those that God has there to minister to those who are hurting.  Please continue to pray!  I am also sharing a video from Mark and Will so that you have an idea of what God is doing through the Hands and Feet Project.  God Bles You, Scott!

The number of people commenting is not a reflection of how many people are praying.  Please be assured that Christians all over the world are lifting up the people of Haiti in prayer to Almighty God.  He is our only hope, our only help at times like these.  I can't comprehend, but I do know One who does.  And I appeal to Him every time the name of Haiti is mentioned.  May the Name of God be praised for His everlasting goodness and mercy, even, especially, at times like these.

A prayer of Praise to the Lord Almighty, Thank you for protecting one of my best friends and a dearly loved father figure, Etienne(Steven) Prophete, the founder of Hatian Christian Missions as the quake hit. You have loved your servant all of these years and continue to watch over him. Please continue to be with him and his family, and those missionaries that are working with him and in the area. Use this horrible disaster as a way for them to show your love. Let their light shine out of this darkness and strengthen the country in your name. To your glory! Amen.

I apologize for the long comment, but I want to ask for prayers for a Mission in Gressier, Haiti. My in-laws run a medical clinic there called Haiti Health Ministries (www.haitihealthministries.org) on a Christian educational campus called Christianville. We have not heard directly from our family, but here is a quote from my father-in-law's nurse, "Hey I know you are worried. We are all OK here physically (emotionally is another story). My house and all of my belongings are gone, but praise the Lord I was not at the apartment when it collapsed." (my in-laws live in the same apartment) "We have no phone service, clean water or electricity. Most of the mission is destroyed. All of the medical staff have been working around the clock to care for the wounded; many have died or will not make it.  Its unbelieveable the stuff we are seeing.  Please have everyone continue to pray for us all and all of the thousands (maybe millions) of Haitians that are now homeless, injured and dead."

And another from the eye doc there: "No one @ Christianville hurt more than a scrape. We had barely made sure everyone was ok when the first injured arrived. We worked on sick & dying until 5:30 am & then took a nap. The "clinic" was moved to church-is even worse than last night.... Our house, Doug & Amy's, guest house ok. Everything else damaged or demolished.

Your prayers are GREATLY appreciated. It is reassuring to know that 'God is gracious and loving and will work out ALL things for the good of those that believe in Him.'

I was listening to KLove on my way to work this morning and heard of this tragedy and a thought ran through my head and i know its not much but sometimes people like myself want to help but feel helpless because we are struggling ourselves. Then it was as though my conscience was telling me to share what we did for Christmas. Since many wanted to help but couldn't afford a lot we collected a dollar from anyone who wanted to donate and combined everyone's money to buy gifts. in a small town in just a few weeks everyone came together so that not one child went without. My question is, How much could we do if every christian in the united states donated just one dollar or if they could more but even a dollar could help..I know i waste that much daily on a cup of coffee.. It's a thought to ponder but not to long Gods children need us..My prayers are with you all.

My family has recently brought home twins from Haiti. I have gone to Haiti to visit and would love to go back some time in the future. Thankfully all the children at the orphanage that our twins were at is ok. One of the nannies has major injuries and the orphanage director has minor ministries. They have opened up what little they have and are now sharing there already tight quarters with two other orphanages, about 300 kids in about 2000 sq. ft. We are praying for the twins birth family who we cannot get a hold off. Also we know a family that is missionaries down there saying that food prices have already doubled. Haiti is devastated and needs your prayers and support. I can't describe this disaster and am praying for the people. May God help the people of Haiti.

I am a registerd emt with no field experience (yet). There is a week open until school starts, and I was wondering if anyone knows what organizations are in need of people to send over for medical aide, or at least could point me in the direction? I've never volunteered for a disaster relief, so pardon if anything I've just asked sounds naive.
I pray that God blesses His people who are affected by this disaster, and that this provides and opportunity for those who do not enjoy the gift of knowing His love to seek and find Him! Peace and Blessings to my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I am currently living in Port de Paix, Haiti, at In The Father's Hands Children's Home and even though we are about 150 miles from where the earthquake happened we felt it. Everyone here is fine but scared. We have 118 kids that live here, over 70 staff, 2 full time missionary families and 6 interns. We appreciate all the prayers and support that everyone is giving. The devastation in Port au Prince is unimaginable and it will lead to many problems in the rest of Haiti. Food prices are already increasing and everything is going to start getting hard to find and when you feed as many people as we do a day that is a big problem. Please continuing praying and sending support!

Hello i am sincerely at a loss for words, i was in utter shock yesterday to hear of this enormous earthquake..It's sad, so many are suffering..But Jesus is there, to hold, to uplift and to touch the lives of people in Haiti..My prayers are with them..I know our Amazing God is there with them, and i pray that people in Haiti know just how many are praying for them..How many care..so many!!
As i was about to go to bed yesterday, i saw a beautiful verse in the bible...Here it is..i hope this comforts everyone who reads this~~~~

Psalm 46:1-3(New Living Translation)

1 God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
3 Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters     surge!

When i read that i was completely amazed, it was almost like God was talking right to me about what happened yesterday in Haiti ...That we should NOT fear that We should stand firm on the Rock of the Ages..who is our Lord...I hope this verse comforts the people from Haiti!

I will keep ya all in my prayers!!!
May God richly bless you!!

Sorry this was so long!

Blessings always!

Lord Jesus, we pray your will be done, your kingdom come. But may we in the time before, realize all you have set before us. Show us each one how we may serve and be your hands to those who are devastated. May we all answer the call in such a way that Haiti sees without a doubt, the love of Christ, and may their lives be changed by your love forever. Please comfort those who hurt both physically and emotionally.  Make us aware and show us the way you would have us go. We praise you with unending praise for what you will do. You promise us that when all other things fail, you will be there to hold us and carry us through.  May you become known without a doubt as the Saviour of Haiti and all people around the world.

Please pray for Jamie McMutrie and Ali McMutrie, two young women from Pittsburgh who run an orphanage(BRESMA) in Port au Prince.  Their building  has collapsed and they are living in the yard with about 30 babies and toddlers.  Jamie and Ali were told at the US Embassy that they could probably get out of the country, but they cannot take the children.  They refuse to leave the 30 Haitian children who are "almost" Americans but their adoptions are not final.  Frantic efforts are underway here in the States to cut through the red tape and get Jamie and Ali and the babies out of Haiti before the situation becomes worse. The babies' adoptive families are here waiting for them!  You can read a blog about their situation at http://thatschurch.com/.  There's a Facebook group called "Let's Help Get Them Out of Haiti" with contact information if you have resources or information.  Thank you in advance for any help your listeners can provide!  Our God is the source of all miracles and we believe He will provide a miracle for them!

We are trying to find out information on the House of Hope orphange that is located about 41 miles north of Port au Prince. I'm new to this website, but a long-time K-LOVE listener.  My heart has truly been wrenched with the tragedy in Haiti. I am a Home Health nurse in Louisiana.  I went to my boss today and asked her who I'd need to talk to about having medical supplies donated to those in need.  She'd not yet heard of the disaster but assured me she'd look into it.  My theory was "Our company's logo is 'It's all about helping people'. Why should that just be our neighbors?  We have companies throughout the US.  Why couldn't we go global when we're in a position to do so?"  If nothing else, I encouraged my boss to ask maybe those in our office and sister offices in the surrounding areas to gather food, water and toiletry items to send.  It is my biggest prayer that even this little bit will help.  One person can't do much, put if we all pull together as Christians, we can do Christ's work more efficiently.

The crisis in Haiti is so painful to watch and hear about. I am watching ABC's special on "Race to Save a Country" and the statistics they post between commercials are just as heartbreaking as the aftermath of the quake.
Lately I have been asking myself, where is the Lord when such destruction happens? This country was already nearly falling apart prior to this particular destruction, but the destruction that is yet to come may be only years away.
It dawned on me during my drive home this afternoon... while listening to KLove and hearing that such is part of God's plan for strengthening the compassion we have for one another. For whatever reasons the Lord has allowed this destruction to take place however, it is truly inspiring to see everyone here in Ohio pull together and support the Haitians and the media is proving such all across the country.

My prayers are extended to everyone affected by this disaster; here, there, and throughout the world. The Lord is present and He is working through each one of us!

I heard what you said about the earth quake not being a punishment by God.  I don't know why the earth quake hit Haiti, but I do know that God does punish.  I agree that God is VERY merciful and does not give us what we deserve, but He does punish.  Hosea 4:9

Yes he does punish but How would you feel if somone said that to you when you arre going through what Haties is?    Do unot others as you want them to do to you.   Let us becarefull of what we say.   For the mouth is like a firy sword which can not be quichnet!  It can speek evil or good it cna curse or bless or can lift up or tear down.  Jesus ate with whores and the worst sinners of the world.   He came for the week not the strong.    He came to minister .  So Let us minister and pray that  all the people of Hatie  become born again and sprit field.    I encourage you to pray for grace and mercy for those people.   Let us not talk about jusdment or any negative thing about  Hatie at all!!!!  They need love not judgment.   Let our mouls speek good things oeve them for they are in pain, distress and alone.   Let us hold them in our arms like Jesus is doing right now!!!!
