What would you do if you met someone famous?

Ever met anyone famous? What did you do--talk to them or leave them alone? Scott met Magic Johnson and walked right up and talked to him, whereas Kelli sat next to Garth Brooks without saying a word! What would you do?

When I was younger I met Michelle Pheiffer, when I was about six she pushed me and my brother on the swings, and told my mom that she had beautiful children, and then this last summer when I worked at a Theme Park I met Lebron James, I did what I was supposed to do, just said hello, and enjoy his time because they are allowed to have their fun Smile

Talk to them...they're only human (some with huge egos but human nonetheless).

I met John Elway (Denver Broncos QB) several years ago at a Denver-area restaurant. He was in the bar with a friend. I was just having lunch with a good friend. I just struck up a conversation with him and his friend. Not like a lunatic or anything. I did get his autograph for my son.

I also met Steven Segal in Chicago O'Hare airport - at a restaurant. I didn't think his bodyguards and entourage would let me close - but I managed to meet him. I didn't get his autograph - I got the feeling that he was approached all the time by crazed fans.

So, yes...just say "hi" like a normal person.

Hi I worked at one of the premier hotels in Pittsburgh, and had the opportunity to  meet some real famous people and athletes including Jean claude Vandamme, Wayne Gretzky, etc.  But the one that stood out the most was meeting John Travolta, he checked into the hotel early one Sunday morning, and requested I sent a comb to his room, of course, I quickly forgot.  about 15 minutes later he called from his room and was very nice in reminding me about his comb, I hurriedly took it to his room, where he was very graciou in his thanks and his tip.

A few years back my mom told me a story about her and Bill Cosby. She said that she was going to dinner with her husband (nowhere too fancy). As they were in the elevator, she noticed the man in the elevator looked a lot like Bill Cosby. Later that evening she found out that it was in fact Bill Cosby. He was doing a show a few floors above where they were having dinner! I never got to meet him Frown

Well, I haven't met someone famous yet, but if I did I would go right up to them and introduce myself! But famous people are always told that 'they rock' & 'they're awesome' so I would think of something more creative to tell them!

I live in Indianapolis and I was at Target with my husband one night a few years ago.  We were browsing the men's section and Tony Dungy walked by.  I stood there with my mouth open like a complete idiot because I couldn't believe who was standing just a few feet from me!  My husband said "Good Luck Coach" concerning a playoff game the next day.  Mr. Dungy said thank you and then the Colts lost that game.  Of course I had to tease my husband that he threw off Mr. Dungy's concentration and that's why we lost! LOL!

I got a chance to meet Oliver North when he was promoting his last book in November of 2008.  I bought a copy for my father and Mr. North autographed it for me.  My dad has the picture of the two of us sitting on his shelf in his study and looks at it every day.  His book is on the nightstand right beside his bed.

about a year and a half ago, i went to a book signing with Brian Jacques....this was for a birthday party of my friends, and we were even wearing costumes appropriate to the books....there were 3 of us, and it actually took me time to convince them to wear the dresses....finally they did, and when we got there (a little late) Mr. Jacques stopped his speach, turned to us, and says "Look it's the Redwallers" (which are charachters from his books) we turned red and went and sat down....then, he started talking and at one point asked us which characters we were, well the girl we had had the most trouble convincing to wear her costume was the only one who could speak....we were dumbstruck that he would even speack to us....they still rub into me that i made them wear the costumes, cuz i swore that ther would be others there wearing costumes, and we were the ONLY ones.....but i don't know what i would do for others, but for Brian Jacques, i froze, but i still got pictures and an autograph in 2 books.......Smile

I went with our High School youth group to The Dominican Republic last summer and we took one of those small jets so we took up most of the plane and Tony Kanaan(Indy car driver) walked on the plane and sat right in the middle of all of us. None of us said anything to him at first. My daughter was sitting right behind him and I wanted to say hi and get a picture but I thought he may not have wanted to be bothered so I never said anything. Some of the kids colored pictures for him and gave them to him. When we got off the plane some of the kids asked to get their picture taken and he was very nice about it.

If I liked what ever they were 'famous' for (music, writing, acting, sports, ect.)and could hold a conversation about it or what not then yes, I'd go up and say hi, but if I'd didn't really know what they did, I would just give them their space, because apart from the fact that it (for me at least) would be super awkard, they are just human and sometimes they should be treated like it not like some extraterrestrial or something.

I wouldn't approach one, I'm shy enough as it is with normal people. Plus, they do get bombarded enough with the press, so I wouldn't want to bother them. I did meet AJ from the Backstreet Boys in Vegas. My husband was in the World Series of Poker, and while we were waiting in line to register him, AJ was behind us in line. We chit chatted for a bit, I got a photo with him. He was really nice! I wouldn't have been able to just walk up to him, it was only because he was standing in line right behind us =)

I tried and tried to call tonight... so now that I'm at a computer, I will write...

A few years ago, Denver hosted a Worship Together conference, for which I volunteered to help.  It just so happened I was put in charge of the GREEN ROOM!!!  I was so excited to get to meet Chris Tomlin, Tim Hughes, and Rita Springer!  Chris and Tim were very animated and a blast to hang with...  Rita -- who has played a huge part in my life's story -- was more reserved.  Therefore, I found myself giving her space -- my interpretation of her being quiet was that she was in prayer preparing for her time that night...  Afterwards, as I walked them all to their busses, I thanked her for the impact she's had on my life.  She asked me why I didn't talk to her more in the green room...  I felt so bad -- and wished that I had taken the opportunity to talk with her more...  I still think she's an amazing woman of God...  and I think Chris and Tim are the bomb also!!

We stood around where he was standing and then kept saying the name Corbin to see if he would turn around, but I don't even know if he heard us! Talk to them as normal people. I travel as a photographer so I meet famous people a lot. But my best time ever was when I was out of college in 86-87 and travel the east coast to million $$$ grand prix jumper horse shows as a photographer.  A horse could be owned by 4 or 5 millionaires, because the cost of the horse was so precious. I met many famous people, most of the time I didn't know who they were - cause I'm not that good with names of actors. Even to this day : )  They liked that!! But I have a signed original label of paul newman's salad dressing before it came out, he asked my opinion out of several designs. But when I met Patrick Swayze - I couldn't talk to him, I froze and grinned  a huge smile, all 10 days. I had just watched dirty dancing over 100 times when it came out. still to this day when I mention his name I grin a smile:  ) and cant speak, but I could talk to his horses just fine.

Tonight our 8-year-old daughter Ava, met Mark Schultz at  a small church in Montana.

As Mark was telling the story behind the song "He's My Son," Ava raised her hand and asked Mark " Are these stories true?"

He said, "That's a really good question. You hear that, everyone? She just asked me, 'Are you lyin'?" He referred back to her throughout the show and even asked where she went when she returned from the restroom!

This was her first indoor concert, and we all need to be uplifted. We can definitely say that God's hand was upon us tonight, and we're grateful to have been a part of such an intimate worship concert. Thanks, Mark!

It was hard to believe, but Zsa Zsa Gabor was in my grocery store In Chino, CA years ago. She fawned over my baby in the cart and then bought carrots on her way to feed her horse.
The glamorous star was dressed in jeans, flannel shirt and full makeup. I was doubting it was really her because she was so friendly and talkative but sure enough she left the store and got into her Rolls Royce with "Zsa Zsa" license plates.

I've tried to talk to semi famous people-christian singers or groups--it always felt like I was waisting their time or I was completely ignored, so I don't anymore.  If I were to see someone famous, I would treat them like anyone else I saw--their only people-the difference is they have a greater responsibility and accountable to a larger group of people than I do.  If they started to talk with me, on the other hand, I would ask what they were doing for the day and ask them to join me on an adventure of spending the day going places-zoo-mall-game-etc, having coffee-food, laughing and having fun.

I am on Kelli's side I believe they need their space. They are people yes, but they never get their own space. There is always someone running up to them trying to take a picture or trying to get an autograph. Imagine if you were famous and just wanted to take your child to the grocery store. You wouldn't be able to do that.

I won a trip with Muscular Distrophy because I owned a 7/11 store and it was one of the top grossing stores in donations collected. We all flew to Acapulco, and the first evening we had cocktail hour on a patio @ the Acapulco Princess Hotel. I had my daughter with me who at that time was only four years old. There was this fabulous fireworks display over the ocean for us... I took her to the wall of the patio and held her so she could see better. As the display came to an end, the gentleman in front of me turned around and ... it was Jerry Lewis. He was so nice, shorter than I expected though! Celebrites are people too...

My other story is I worked as a Hairstylist in a salon just outside of Boston. We used to get some of the members of the Red Sox in for haircuts. At that time, my husband went nuts because two of them sat on the floor and played with my daughter who was at that time only a year old... "they actually played with my daughter" he was so excited! Not a big deal for me... they are just people who happen to be celebs...

I already met Joyce Meyer while she was doing a conference in Illinois. That was on the day that God did a miracle healing to both of my knees. I had several knee surgeries done and at that point in my life, I was already on crutches for 10 YEARS streight. During that conference, God spoke to Joyce and told her He wanted her to do a healing service. She called out many different ailments that people needed to be healed. Moments before she called out the knees, I began to feel a warmth in both of my legs. Then the next thing I knew, both of my leg braces came flying off my knees all by themselves. Then she mentioned that someone in that sanctuary had problems with her knees for several years, and she wanted that person to know that God just completly healed them. I screamed really loud "Its about time Lord, 10 years is long enough to suffer don't you think?" She heard me yell that, and called me to come down to the stage and step on the platform. (I was sitting way up on the very top of the upper level). (I actually thought she would scold me for screaming this so loud, but instead she gave me a HUGE HUG ! I fell out in the spirit on the platform & Yes God did indeed totally heal me!
She & I are now great friends!
Last August, I was in Texas to sign interpret for Kenneth Copelands ministry. Not only did they pay for my round trip transportation, and hotel bill in full, they also had me eat every single meal with them the entire week I was there!
I was now asked to come down again this year to interpret for them again. I am really humbled and honored to do this for God's hearing impaired & deaf people.
