Love Cilantro, but only in small amounts. If there is too much, it is overpowering, but it adds so much flavor.  I absolutely love the smell of fresh cut cilantro, so much so, I am growing it in my garden.

LOVE it or HATE it?!

Well guys, HATE is really a strong word...and LOVE is its equal opposite. In terms of my feelings about an herb, I can't say that I feel too strongly one way or the other! It's a garnish, for cryin out loud! Smile Didn't your mom ever say to you, "If you don't like it, pick it out!" ?

That's how I feel about mushrooms! Ick.

Hate it!  Family took me out for my birthday dinner.  Ordered crabcakes, couldn't figure out what tasted so bad....roll? fries? drink? NOOOOOO the crabcake.
Finally had to ask the waitress for the list of ingredients, when she got to cilantro that was enough.  Found out that some enjoy a "clean, fresh" taste, where others of us find it nasty, and disgusting.  It's the chemical make up of our bodies.

Sorry Kelli...I really think cilantro adds a lot to Mexican dishes.  If you've ever had the rice at Chipoltle..it is fantasic..lime and cilantro and white rice.  A little cilantro mixed in with your salad or with the meat cooked for tacos and burritos.  Never thought someone would not like it. I agree that cilantro has good benefits for health but I prefer lavander... Good for headachs, insomnia, digestsion and scones!  On Maui, (I live on Oahu, Hawaii) there is a man who grows a farm of lavander and it is so beautiful it looks like Ireland.  So I prefer Lanvander over cilantro! It tastes metallic to me and give me a royal bullyache.  My best friend eats it by itself like a salad. Our husbands can are ok either way. We ought to have a choice.        A local restaurant owner once told me that it is too expensive for him to have 2 different salsas - one with and the other without cilantro. Since 4 out of 6 of us couldn't eat anything with cilantro, we left without ordering anything.  A jar of salsa without would have been cheaper than the ~$100 for the 6 full meals he lost.

Cilantro is used A Lot here in South America. It is very widely used here in Latin America. Which is why I am writing. I always put you guys on. But having one of our favorite radio stations bashing a very native food used extensively here, being bashed is not cool. Pretty much this: imagine a colombian radio station bashing American Food. Now, I am not getting racial here nor, by any means, do I have a harsh tone here. Don't get me wrong. We love you guys.
I am just saying, another example, imagine you guys are listening to a Latin American radio station, and you and a group of friends and family are at the dinner table and here you have these guys bashing your native food.

Not cool.

But anyway, We love you guys.

Have a great day.
