I always wanted a My-Size-Barbie, but my parent's couldn't afford I joke that i've been scared for life for never having a my-size-barbie like every single one of my 3rd grade friends. I'm 19 now and my mom and grandparents threaten to buy me a my-size-barbie because i'm only 5'1'' and they say "it's still your size!" haha

I loved the idea of stores and shopping as a little girl, but I guess not much has changed because I still love it today.  I always wanted a toy cash register for xmas, but it never happened.  My mom told me that I could play with a real one when I was older and got a job.  In college I got to work at a retail clothing store and it was lots of hard work.  I guess the real thing was not very fun after all.  Recently I bought a toy register for my kid and I can't wait to show him hoe to play with it.

Ive gotta tell you guys! as a kid my mom always wanted her own box of colored pencils for Christmas every year she asked for them but never got them. For some reason this always stuck with her. Last year for Christmas my sister got some for my mom. The look on my moms face and the memory it brought of wanting those made her cry. It was kinda cool to see that.

I always wonted all the toys from toy story. I never got them except buzz lightyear. That sounds kind of silly. I loved to get toys from moves. I had old dolls from the wizard of oz and some dolls from Disney princess.

One Christmas when I was 7,We didn't have any money. My mom let me sister pick out anything in the JCPENNY catalog that we wanted. I picked a life-like doll and my sister who was 3 at the time picked out a Carebear. When Christmas morning came we opened our present to find cutout pictures of the gifts that we had picked out with a note from our mom that said she would buy them when she had saved enough money. I will never forget that Christmas as long as I live, but not in a bad way. I knew how hard it was for my mom to have to do that. I never did get that doll, But I still remember what it looked like and I smiled a little brighter this last Christmas when my 5 year old opened her special doll. To this day, I thank the Lord that I can give my children a nice christmas in presents and in blessings.

When I was a little girl I always wanted a Samantha American Girl doll. Well a couple years ago at Christmas, even though I was 25 years old, my dad surprised me with the Samantha doll. That he even remembered how much I loved that doll was amazing. It only took 15 years or so, but I finally got her.

When I was little, I really wanted my own brand-new bike. So one Christmas morning I found a shiny pink bike for me, and one for my sister. Now those bikes are our younger sisters'. I'm 16 now, and I already know atleast a few things I'll be receiving this year - Brandon Heath and Britt Nicole CD's. I love their music, and I'm having such a hard time being patient for the next 3 months . . . but patience is a virtue, so I'll try. Lol. Smile

My Christmas memory is about my daughter who is now 34 yrs old. It was Christmas of 81 or 82-Cabbage Patch Dolls were all the rage. I couldn't find one anywhere and in a panic-I engaged the assistance of everyone I knew. I also kept telling my "precious" 5 or 6 yr old --"maybe Santa will not be able to bring a Cabbage Patch Baby" and then come up with all of these strange stories of what may have happened or what could happen that would prevent the delivery of THE BABY ,to which she would admimatly state--"Oh Mommy don't be silly,of course he will bring it- He's Santa"! Well I'm happy to say- with the help of friends and family-"Santa" came through with the beautiful Baby-and when my sweet daughter opened it-eyes wide with the thrill- she made sure she took time to remind me--"See mom" I told you Santa would get it for me!!!! My daughter and I laugh over this memory all the time even to this day!!!

I always got all kinds of toys but what I wanted was people to play with. My dad's parents raised me so playmates were at a premium in the country. But, on Christmas all my cousins would be around and the kids next door were out of school too. So we'd all get together and play. I don't know how many brand new barbies are buried in that back yard but it was always so much fun.

I always wanted a cabbage patch kid. I never received one as a child but when I became an adult I bought maybe three or four at one time. So for my daugter every Christmas I buy her a new cabbage patch doll but I always end up playing with the dolls even as a 34 year old woman. I just love them so much. I don't think she even notices the doll as much as I do. By the way she is only three.

When I was nine or ten, I remember desperately wanting a Snoopy Sno Cone Machine for Christmas. I got it. I was an only child for both sets of grandparents and a little bit spoiled as a kid. Well...after a week of grinding that handle to shave ice (and it took forever to make even just a little bit 'cause the handle kept falling off), I realized that the toy wasn't as cool as I thought it should be. The disappointment was a turning point that made me realize material things are wants and not needs. To this day, my husband and I ask our four-year-old, is it a want or a need? It was a good lesson for me.

A Light mom wouldn't let me have one because apparently they get very hot!  I also really wanted a remote control car.  Something I did get that I loved so much was the game Hungry Hungry Hippos, and of course, my pink Huffy bike with the banana seat.

I always wanted The Family TreeHouse, a Play-Doh Fuzzy Pump Up Barber Shop, Baby This and That, and Baby Alive, and never got those! I also wanted a Holly Hobby Oven.  I used to tease my parents, telling them I was a deprived child, because I never got these items.  They never felt sorry for me....Sigh! If the truth be told, I think they tried to improvise, because stores were likely out of those items; I did get an A-Frame house, Baby That A Way (which I did want, but called it Baby Bat Away!), and an Easy Bake Oven (though that was from a cousin), and various play-doh sets, even though my mother hated giving us play-doh, because it wound up all over the house!
