My husband and I have only been married a little over a year, but have been together for almost 7 years. We are complete opposites, he is a saver, and I am a spender.  I think it has worked perfectly because we have balanced each other out.  He has taught me why saving is important and how satisfying it is to not buy something right away but work towards it, where as I have taught him that it is okay to spend money on ourselves and it is okay to have money leave the account, if it's for reasonable things.  Thanks for your guest today... a good reminder that we need to be good stewards of God's money and blessings!

We first heard the song "Save a Place for Me" several months ago while my husband was in home hospice. We were listening to K-Love in his room, and when I heard the line "I'll be there soon", I started crying.  I told Larry that 'in Heaven a year is like a day, while here on Earth a day is like a thousand years,' but I would be with him soon, and asked him to "save a place for me." He nodded that he would.  A few weeks later, my husband of almost 41 years went to be with our Lord and Savior.  Now when I hear the song, I can smile through my tears knowing that Larry will be saving a place for me.  The words "thank you" are not enough to express my gratitude for this song.

My mom died the day before mothers day this year, and the wednesday before she died she got to listen to k-love for the first time and Save A Place For Me came on.  She loved it and that song sine she died has meant a lot to me. I don't feel so alone when I hear it.  I know she's  in Heaven with our Lord and my dad, brother and both of my grandmas and they are saving a place for me and my son.  Motions has also helped me because I have just gone through the motions and don't really feel things like I should. When I first heard it I started crying and thought that's me. Thank you so much Matthew for your beautiful music

Ways to appreciate Christmas!

A recent article gave some great suggestions for ways that we can appreciate Christmas in the midst of the business. Some suggestions: turn off the lights. light some candles and stop to breathe a bit, attend a Christmas church service and give back to someone else. Got any tips to add? What helps you to appreciate Christmas?

I find a lot of enjoyment during the Christmas holiday by helping to alleviate the work load of all the people preparing for family meals and such. Washing dishes in the kitchen helps my Aunt relax enough to enjoy herself, and I find that in itself relaxing. Finding a quiet corner to myself to read my Bible, or a good book makes Christmas that much more enjoyable.

I turn on the Christmas lights, fill the air with cranberry fragrant candles, and turn on your online station. Listening to all the beautiful music  reminds me of our Savior's love and sacrifice, which brings me to my knees in thankfulness for all He's done.

This Christmas will be extra special because it falls on the Lord's Sabbath day. Maybe unknowingly, many christians will be keeping the sabbath day holy, beginning on Friday evening, Christmas eve and ending on Saturday evening, Christmas day.
There is a blessing for keeping the Lord's day holy, which our Creator set apart at creation. It's at the heart of the 10 Commandments and our Savior kept it while on this earth. Resting from our labor, resting in Jesus, singing praises to God and worshipping him as the Creator and our Savior is our spiritual worship. Enjoy!
Isaiah 58, Genesis 1&2, Exodus 20, Ezekiel 20:12,20, John 14:21, Hebrews 4, 8:10, Revelation 14:12, 22:14. God Bless!

How to help kids during the holidays who end up in the local hospitals for any reason.. Santa is a phone call away.  This is how it works.  The local ems dept in virginia beach virginia will be available on the phone throughout the holidays 24hours/day to call any child who has suffered any trauma and ends up in a hospital. the child and/or parent call the ems and Santa will get on the phone and talk the child who may be experiencing trauma and just needs to hear a friendly voice.  I thought this is a great thing to air and promote and ultimately a blessing to the child and family.
